I don't understand all the hype. The meat was salty and sometimes they forget to put the truffle Mayo on the mushroom burger. I asked them if they did lettuce wrap and they said yes. And all they did was put two wilted lettuce on each side. To top that off, it was $1 extra to make it lettuce wrap. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I am. Smashburger Harrahs gets a 2 star rating. Two stars, only out of respect for the franchise where I've enjoyed great meals before. Even though the food is average at best, but generally subpar, many people order at this [and other] Smashburger stores out of sheer convenience. I guess if you're Smashburger selling high priced average to poor tasting food, it's a good marketing strategy. There's a constant turnover of customers in and out of the hotel. And because the stores are in-house and so much more convenient than getting in your car and driving to, let's say, In-N-Out Burger, they have a sizeable built-in clientele at times. I'm one of those built-in customers as well. I get sucked into the thought process of not wanting to get in the car, drive to a restaurant, get back into the car, drive back to the hotel, walk to the room, and finally get to eat what's now a cold meal. So I'm guilty of going to the in-house Smashburger and writing a negative review as I'm currently doing. But all is not lost. Since putting pen to paper (figuratively) is genuinely cathartic, just writing this helps me realize the added time taken to travel outside the hotel is worth it rather than pay double the price for a poor-tasting hamburger and fries. I ordered the Avocado Bacon Burger and added cheddar cheese, my boyfriend ordered the Classic Smash Burger and we got a side of tots. My boyfriend didn't care for the Smash Sauce that came in the burger but other than that, he thoroughly enjoyed the burger.... good meat, cheese, bun, etc. I really liked my burger and would order it again tomorrow!! Not much that I liked about my stay at Harrah's Laughlin but Smashburger was a pleasant surprise amongst many disappointing situations during our stay. Relatively inexpensive considering our surroundings - good food and friendly staff. Go for the tator tots - a bit salty for my taste but otherwise I highly recommend them. Let's be honest: Nobody comes to Laughlin expecting it to be classy. To that end, Harrah's (generally) and Smashburger (specifically) do not disappoint. Two burgers, two fries, and two bottles of water = $36, okay, that's par for the course at a casino. And everything tasted decent. But at Smashburger your order is tossed at you in a paper bag (no tray). You must ask for napkins (there's no dispenser). You must ask for ketchup (ditto) and they give you four little packets. Wow, generous- not. Utensils? Ha ha, you're so funny. Now, plan to sit in a sticky, greasy mess- or clean your own table. Even for fast food, this place is ghetto. (WWF on TV.) And then there's the ambient noise. Some of the shrieking you hear is from the parade of half-dressed Botoxed mommies, mullet-headed beer-belly daddies, and hyper kids - all in wet bathing suits dragging pool toys and beer coolers, exiting the pool down the hall. Other shrieking comes from the Smashburger cash register gal berating the cook for the orders he's screwed up. Seriously, I thought the food court at Circus Circus in Vegas was trashy- but Smashburger at Harrsh's in Laughlin takes it to a new, much lower level. As a business owner myself I wish I could scoop him up and use him as a shining example of 5 star customer service. Came to this establishment and our wait was at least 30 minutes no problem but when we got our food everything was cold the chicken tenders were too hard and the tater tots were fried extremely hard. Arrived at Harrahs later in the evening on Thursday, October 18th around 7:30pm and wanted to grab a bite to eat. For quick options at Harrahs, there's Smash Burger, Pin Up Pizza, Cinnabon and Red Mango. We figured Smash Burger would be the freshest option since the pizza looked like it had been sitting there awhile. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers, one was a meal with tators and a drink and then a chocolate milkshake. Our total came to around $27. A gentleman brought out the milkshake quickly and it was okay. Good consistency, but not very chocolatey. The Pepsi was kind of watery too. Our burgers came out and weren't that appealing. Especially for the price we paid. We had kept our expectations low, and even though we didn't expect much, we were still kind of disappointed. The patties were seasoned okay, bun was alright, bacon was small and was just kind of "meh"... It also had pickles and onions on the burger. The tators were the only thing that were pretty good. Overall...we ate overpriced burgers, tators and drinks. But that's what you get at a hotel burger joint. Would we go back? Probably not unless we had to. As a side note: we went to In and Out burger tonight (it's a must have whenever we're in the US), had 2 double cheeseburger meals and it was only $15.
