We came with another couple and their teenage son. The son had 2 burgers and said this was his favorite place. I really liked the burgers here. The staff was ok, but we came in 30 min. before close and they wanted to make sure we left on time. The fries were crisp and everything was freshly made and tastey. They had tater tots, so hubby was very happy. Their plating is just a metal tray. So not exactly a place for a date. But for a very casual meal, you're fine. Go Kim!!!!! Kim is the kind of employee who should be managing the shop. Today I had an employee who was very curt place an order for me. The employee never asked what I wanted but rang up what she thought I should have. When I came back to ask about it, instead of hearing me and trying to rectify the situation, the employee was basically saying Too bad, it's done. Kim overheard the conversation and immediately stepped in to ask what the problem was. When I explained, she simply asked how I wanted it, took the product, and remade it the correct way without all of the drama. We recently stopped into this Kingsley location, and here's the deal. The place itself was quite unkempt...and I hated the tight, awkward layout. Also, not sure why the lighting is so harsh? Not the most hospitable in terms of ambiance. No wonder the ratings aren't the greatest here! I had the Bacon Smashburger with Fries. I did not appreciate how they didn't warm up the buns (almost cold??), but the Angus Black burger was piping hot, fresh and delicious! I loved their skinny Fries too...not too greasy. If the buns were as warm/hot as the fresh patty, I might have even rated up to 4 stars (despite the sloppy ambiance of this place!). Everyone in my party loved the burgers and their sides, Onion Rings and Seasoned Fries. We also ordered SmashTots to share...and they were also delish. The young Caucasian girl with the black and reddish hair has terrible customer service. 1. We walked in and she gave us the most disgusting look, so much that we thought they were about to close. I am always skeptical and coming from the hospitality industry I know all it takes is one bad waiter to put a restaurant's ratings in the trash. I love Smashburger and was so excited to see one opening up in Fort Mill. We have been to this location twice and my review is based on this location, others I have given higher. I'm not sure what it is about this location, but I feel like their quality does not match up with what I have loved about others. For example, the first time I got the mushroom swiss burger and there were only 2 mushrooms on it. Other Smashburgers, the entire burger was covered, and then some! Tasty burgers and a variety of delicious sides. I had a single avocado bacon club and it was very tasty. The haystack onions were a bit greasy but the accompanying sauce helps cut it with a creamy bite. I'd definitely come here again and maybe try a regular burger. It was dried out and as the pic shows, very little toppings, thus not helping it out at all. The salad which was small compared to other places for the same price, it became 1/2 the size the next day. The fries straw fries with the dipping sauce was the best thing.
