This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating, including spacious booths. It was nearly empty on a Thursday afternoon. You can make any of their signature burgers vegetarian by swapping the meat for a black bean patty. I got the spicy jalapeño smash burger. The black bean patty was dry and crumbly, but I enjoyed all of the toppings. I also tried their scorchin' hot tots. These were satisfyingly spicier than I expected. In addition, I love that their fries are seasoned with rosemary so they have quite a bit of flavor. I haven't been to this Smashburger in years but it's nice to see that it's still kicking. I was very warmly greeted when I arrived to a fairly empty restaurant. It was very clean and organized. My order was ready on time and there was nothing missing! Yay! The friendly associate asked me if I desired any sauces. She had to refresh my memory because I never knew they had sauces here. I asked for the truffle mayo which was stunningly good! I really came to try the new Big Shrimp roll. They even have a shrimp basket that consists of shrimp paired with french fries. I was a regular at this location for years, to the point where a former server had my order memorized. Even after she left the company, I continued coming in for lunch, and the staff still recognized me. My food was consistently fresh, and I always felt well taken care of, which is why I remained loyal for so long. Unfortunately, that changed after my recent encounter. I parked directly out front, as I always did, ordered my food, and dined inside. While I was eating, my vehicle was struck while parked outside, directly within view of the cameras. I immediately went back inside to inform the staff, but I was told there was nothing they could do and that I would need to wait for a manager to contact me. No one ever followed up. The next day, I had to call myself. When I finally spoke with someone claiming to be the manager, I was told they could not access any camera footage and that I would need to subpoena the building owner to obtain it. This was extremely disappointing, especially as a loyal customer who had supported this business for years. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or effort to assist me in a situation that occurred directly on their property and within camera view. Accidents happen, and I understand that. However, this location could have shown accountability and a willingness to help. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and unsupported. Because of this experience, I do not plan to return. At least the food redeemed the experience here. This is a solid 2.5 but ya know yelp doesn't do half ratings. There were maybe 5 people ahead of me in line. It took 17 minutes from the time I walked in the door to place my order. I understand places are short staffed but y'all obviously need to incentivize people to work for you - I guess I understand why a lot of people were placing mobile orders. We came here after my god daughter's graduation because she's a hamburger and fries gal and always wanted to try this place. I was happy because I just knew we were going to shell out some big bucks at City Island or something. This fast food restaurant was clean and the staff were real cool and friendly. The shift lead on January 27th . Time being currently 2:39 is very distasteful to the company. His presence makes all customers uncomfortable as he speaks to his employees as his subordinates in front of everyone. The was food good but the manager/ shift lead again was very distasteful. I really like the food at Smashburger. It's more upscale than your typical fast food burger but not too much to break the bank or feel like fine dining (although I don't think burgers are fine dining food lol). I appreciate all of the modifications/add-on options and the menu is pretty diverse considering that the restaurant has the word "burger" in its name. I've tried their beef burgers, grilled and crispy chicken, and black bean burgers in a number of combinations and I've been very satisfied with the taste and quality of food. Here'sssss the kicker though. The service at this particular location is appalling. The employees here seem completely unmotivated and it really reflects in the business. I've eaten here a number of times both to go and dining in (based on food quality/taste alone) and EVERY visit is extremely long simply because it takes way too long for my order to be fulfilled. I experienced something a few months ago that really put me off to this place. I had just discovered that Smashburger had a mobile ordering app and rewards system (yay!). I work in the area and was about to go on my lunch break and decided that I'd order ahead via the app hoping to save some time. I don't remember exact times but trust me- I remember how long I waited. Let's just say that I placed my order around 2:30pm to be picked up at 2:45 pm. I got to the location at about 2:50 pm just to allow for a little extra time. When I asked about my order, I was told that it wasn't ready yet which was a bit alarming to me but I wasn't too upset about it because it was a bit busy and I understand that things happen. At around 3:10, (40 mins after ordering & 25 mins after pickup time) I finally received my food. I also ordered a Salted Caramel shake (so yummy!) that I was told wasn't ready yet. I'm generally patient so I waited a few more minutes. The man at the pickup counter (he seemed like a manager) informed me that the cashier would be making it when she had a moment but every time she finished with another customer, she walked around aimlessly attempting to "clean" the tables. I asked about my shake for a 3rd time and the man asked the cashier about it. She said she had no orders for shakes but when she opened the freezer, low and behold, there was my shake that had already been prepared (I'm assuming by someone else). The manager seemed not to care that his employee(s) failed to communicate with him properly and the cashier didn't seem to care about my shortcoming either. It was around 3:25 (55 minutes from order time, 40 minutes from pickup time) when I finally had my entire order and was able to leave the store. I've experienced several long wait times at this location and it's troubling to know that I can order food in-house and via mobile app from a place with a higher demand (I.e: Chipotle) and have my food waiting for me before my pickup time. I'd love to give this location a 5-Star rating but the overall service prevents me from doing that. I also feel that the rewards system could be a bit more giving and require less points for a reward but that's nowhere near my biggest issue. read more

This was the location of the OTB (Off Track Betting) back in the days in this area. I was impressed with the place. -Ordered the NEW YORKER Burger with everything on it, well all of the free toppings. It came with cheddar, garlic grilled onions, spinach, tomato, lettuce on an Egg Bun. I loved it, Burger was not too overcooked or undercooked. Regular price it was $6.29 plus tax. Got the fries also, they were regular shoe string variety for $1.99. I should have gone with sweet potato fries, I usually love those. These fries were just okay. -This is a spot I will definitely come back to, my dad said he ordered the regular smashburger and didn't like it too much, but he really like the New Yorker this time around. Their salads here looked pretty good as well. i will also order a milkshake next time as it looked very good at someone near me table. Look forward to coming back soon. I had lunch at Smashburger yesterday. It is fairly new and opened recently in the Fairway Plaza. I didn't know what to expect and I was definitely surprised. When walking in the door you are met by a greeter who hands you a menu to peruse while you wait in line. The line wasn't too long - it was divided into two, and there were two cashiers. Each line had about 5 people in it. There are many options for burgers - it seems like they've put together several great combinations but you are also able to build your burger from the bun up, including several choices of buns, several options for type and weight of meat, and many, many options for toppings. There are also side dishes and shakes. I had a chocolate shake, a cheddar / bacon burger, and sweet potato fries. I placed my order, was given a number for my table and sat down. The shake came out in minutes and the meal wasn't far behind. The burger was delicious - the bun, cheese and bacon were great and the beef was flavorful. The shake was rich and thick. The fries were crisp and well seasoned. There aren't tons of seats but the ordering line and food delivery timing seems to pace itself with the consuming food time - until groups split up thinking that 1/2 of their party needs to "hold" seats. I spent about $12 there. The service was great. There were several people working the counter, several in the kitchen and several delivering food/cleaning/ bussing tables. Ok so I enjoyed most of the stuff I saw on the menu and the onion rings were pretty good a bit salty but good none the less. I ordered the new yorker with chili cheese fries and it was pretty good I enjoyed how the table settings were. They are comparable to five guys just with more toppings available. I think they are similar to shake shack but not in flavor. Smash burger brings the order to your table and even when it's packed you are still given your order right away which is great. The wait time at shake shack can some times be over an hour and then you may not be able to get a seat. I enjoyed my food and so did my daughter, my husband favored five guys more then smash burger but I must say that they are pretty good. Being a Monster-Smashburger fan, I always make it a point to stop in here on my way back to Westchester and I'm always rewarded by a perfect Fried Egg and Cheddar Burger with hot onion crisps. I have been to Smashburgers in Utah, California, Colorado and New Jersey and must say that I am MOST impressed by the staff and training that Smashburger provides. The Pelham location is no exception -- the staff is welcoming and friendly and the on-site manager is there to ensure your happiness, whether it's a side of extra pickles or throwing down an extra burger so you don't have to get up and wait in line all over again in the event you're still hungry. If you're a milk shake fan, you're in luck as Smashburger serves it up old-school by letting you have the shake and what's left in the silver shake cup! Best of all, if you're not in the mood for a burger or have chicken-loving kids, this location offers an awesome fried chicken sandwich, as opposed to the Paramus location which does NOT.
