Brussels sprouts taste like how rotten armpits sell they were drenched with grease that soaked through the cup and all the napkins in the bag. Ended up tossing them out because they were so filled of grease. My Black bean burger was dry and the toppings were nonexistent it tasted really bad. Paid for guacamole but got none. Waited 25 minutes for my food and my friend waited almost 45 minutes for a salad. The food is Overpriced and not worth it. And the cashiers need to learn how to change them gloves instead of wearing the same ones for the entire hour we were there while he was touching money, food, bathroom doors and cups. I never tried smash burger before until we were around here with a car and this place has a nice parking lot together with chipotle and some other stores. I usually like five guys most when it comes to fast food burger but smash burger impressed me a lot. Smash burger has many choices of buns and sauces, I got chipotle buns and chipotle sauce and they were amazing! Their sweet potato fries was great too, I could taste a lot of herbs inside. There was sth I tried for the first time, fried pickles. They were so damn good, I do recommend getting them!!! Onto fries... the small I realized would be too much for just me (usually i share with my cold but the kids supposedly is very small). So I requested, just change her kids meal to a regular small burger (I was already told it was the same size burger) and then add a small fry for us to share. I was told I could NOT do that as her order was already made. Remember I have not completed my transaction yet so how is her order placed AND completed already. Strike 2. Decide to leave it, I don't need it anyways. This is the point I realize sweet potato fries are a .50 up charge which was not mentioned. Mind you I was reading and ordering from a paper menu which had no prices on it since the board forces you to crane your neck and squint in my case. I have been here maybe a total of 3 times but im basing this on the most recent. The first time i came i remember they got my order of fries wrong but cleared it with the manager and he let me keep both. This time i went in and the staff that takes your order are pretty friendly. I had ordered an oreo/strawberry shake and 3 chicken avocado club sandwiches. This time for some reason i decided to order one of the 3 crispy chicken (which i believe was the culprit) and the other 2 grilled. Took the food back to a friend's place and ate 1 crispy and one grilled. Was kind of full but thankful i didnt eat the last. Maybe like 2 hours later i start to get a fever. Had no idea what was ahead of me. In the middle of the night (Friday into Saturday) i got this painful feeling in my stomach and from then till about Wednesday, i developed a strong bond with my toilet. Had to skip leg and shoulder day for the first time in years, call out work, and my stomach was in pain. Tried to force myself to eat something healthy and it just caused more pain. I had food poisoning. That was by far my favorite sandwich from there until that day. Gave it 2 stars because staff was nice but that s doesn't mean the standards for food should be lowered. This location is near the 238th street stop on the 1 train, as well as the Bx 9 and Bx 3 MTA bus. So I have been here a couple of times, and the staff is really friendly, honestly I try to go early in the day because the seating is limited. The menu is a little interesting, and because of that I have tried to just create my own burger meal, because all I ever really want is a bacon cheese burger with fries- and there smash fries are pretty good. Okay I am new to this franchise but the first impression was a winner. The applewood bacon cheese burger (the very rare occasion I will partake in the swine) was awesome even though it was well done I'm a med rare gal.....the burger still managed to be juicy. The seasoning on the smash fries and veggie fritters were everything. And what needs to be said about the haagen dazs milkshake.......Delish! This will be in heavy rotation. And may replace my beloved Perista Diner burger......which is the best thus far then entered Smash burger. read more

Man, this is my first time at Smashburger and I was very excited to eat there because I've heard lots of good things. I finally gave in and went on my cheat day today. I ordered and waited in line. I told the girl at the register it was my first time. She was like wow really? I ordered and 20 min later I'm still standing there. I saw people coming and going, not just online order people but people who ordered at the register. They ordered, got their food and went. I finally ask about my order and one girl asked the cooks and they basically said nothing. So that's when my order went in. I was annoyed especially it being my first experience. Good quality and friendly staff. I liked the idea of different flavored spices on the fries. I liked my buffalo fries. Did not like how tiny the fries are. I prefer bigger normal sized fries. I tried a few burgers off their menu before trying to "create my own". My favorite side here (hands down) are the haystack onions...thinly sliced battered onion rings that are seasoned with some kind of addictive salt & peppery goodness. You can get potato or sweet potato Smashfries (tossed in olive oil, rosemary & garlic) which are so tasty, you won't need ketchup. I have mixed review from this burger joint. I ordered an avocado club burger with regular fries and it was delicious, however my husband ordered the chicken club with smash fries. The chicken sandwich had no flavor whatsoever, and we weren't a big fan of the smash fries. The girl taking our order was very helpful and helped us order our meal since it was our first time there. Alrighty guys, so let's dive into this wonderful place: this location's smash burger opened up on May 13,2015 so it's been in operation for a couple of weeks now, The store itself is pretty big, it reminds me of a mix between Johnny rockets and 5 guys style. Very nice seating arrangements and clean restroom (it still has that very much newish feel obviously). Now to the staff: there very nice. From the chances I have to speak with a few of them they were attentive, informative and really down to earth. The kitchen staff seems quick on the draw, orders don't take long and are pushed out quickly with the quality not forgotten or lost like so many other good places. Food: I've had the blu cheese burger and their regular fries as well as their "smash fries" (fries bathed in olive oil) and i must say it's been a tasty/satisfying treat each time. The burgers are well cooked (feels like it's been marinated since it has a juicy taste). They have your standard drinks fountains for refills if you get soda or water but there best is in there shakes. They probably have the best blended milk shakes ever. Smash burger is definitely one of the best spots to chill at in this location. Haven't seen anything negative so far and I say to the staff thank you and keep it going guys. There definitely a lot better than some of the other stores around the area. Final verdict: Pros: good food, excellent staff, fresh and clean space. Cons: maybe crowds but it's not that much of a problem (look at my tip) Judgement: I would definitely go to them for more food and you should definitely check this location out. We split an order of regular fries and sweet potato fries between the three of us. Upon ordering, we were given a number to put on our tables. Everything was delivered to us in about five minutes. My burger was delicious! In addition to the spinach and goat cheese, along with the traditional lettuce and tomato, this burger has cucumber, which I found to be a most lovely addition! The guys also really liked their classic burgers. The fries, both kinds, were delectable. The beau is not a sweet potato fan (...nobody's perfect, I suppose...), but even he ate quite a few of the fries! I suppose my only minor complaint would be how the burgers are cooked. I wanted medium, and my cashier told me they only cook them medium-well or well-done. Eh. No matter, I suppose, because I enjoyed my burger, regardless. The location provides ample seating and great service. Before sitting down, one of the staff members, Derrick (...I believe was his name...) jumped to clean an empty table I found before I sat down at it.
