Hubby and I came here to get his mom a huge burger for her birthday. I know what you're thinking, I mean, who gets someone a birthday burger? Well, it was her one wish, to have something decadent and nutritionally bad, because it would be her last meal before undergoing extensive surgery and a lengthy hospital stay during her birthday and entire birthday month. Disclaimer: everything went fine and she's doing great. I ordered her burger on the drive there; we got her a classic beef burger with cheese and BLT. When we got to the hospital, we put two candles in the container and sang her a very rapid version of, "Happy Birthday", before we caused the fire alarms went off. It was great. She appreciated it and she devoured that burger. She said it was a very good burger. I've been perusing their menu and I think it may be time to head over there again. Came here for lunch since I was in the area for some freelance work. The place seemed to be a nice hip bar. As you walk in bar to the right and bar seating to the left. There is also a small dining room with normal tables. I ordered a bacon cheese burger deluxe (aka the "Spencer") cooked medium. The burger came out perfectly medium! I'm not used to burgers being cooked exactly to your liking, it's usually a bit more done they you would like. So kudos to them. This came with a side of fries, which was still crispy even after 10-15 minutes in the bag. Great! I noticed that other folks that ordered stuff to go had their meals in an aluminum round platter. The type that has the transparent cover. Nice right! But my specialty "best burger in the Bronx" came just wrapped in paper/foil wrap. Fries were also wrapped in paper. Just thought that if it was the "best burger in the Bronx", it should have been in one of those nicer aluminum platters. Other than that it was pretty good. The sauce that was in the burger was okay. Just some simple ketchup and mayo would have been easily better. So maybe sauce on the side would be better. But overall experience was very good. So definitely recommended! read more

This Bronx spot is all the rave in Zerega. And so...I was intrigued. Chef Joan Vargas and his wife, have made this BX spot their wish. Menu may seem small (which in essence, it is), but Bronx Burger Bistro, includes an interesting balance of Seafood, Poultry, Beef and pork dishes. Plenty of Burgers including a Veggie Burger!!! I'm so in! One major (Dominican) Caribbean staple has its own twist on BBB's menu- with Seafood or Meat stuffed in 'Plantain Cups'- which was different and good! Then one other dish, the Arroz con Guandules (always made with Pigeon Peas) has been doctored up nicely with Sweet Peas. My Pan Seared Salmon tasted very good and really liked the fresh String beans...nice touch! While my Mom enjoyed her NY Strip Steak with like a Béarnaise sauce and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes. To sum it up, food is very tasty and BBB, is thinking outside of the box! Service was nice and Chef Joan's wife, Nancy made sure we had a pleasant meal....Thank you! Design is simple, clean and well kept with a whitewashed brick wall, adding a cool touch. Some radio Music played (I think)- but I'll take that over nothing. My Mom and I did Lunch, but I can also see BBB for almost anything you want it to be: light Dinner or chilling with your peeps. Besides the good food, I'm really digging how restaurants such as Bronx Burger Bistro- are catching on the bandwagon to showcase all forms of art---especially in the BX. Their biggest perk right now is Sen2 Figueroa's Pop Art display- adding another layer of oomph. The decor comes together with some very cool artwork, large mirror, doors as counter tops and the touch of some painted exposed brick. With both counter and table seating available. The name Bronx Burger Bistro, may suggest buns, ground meat, & fries only. Don't be fooled, their menu serves up more then the name may suggest. Entrees such as salmon, chicken & waffles, and shrimp pasta. I was torn between the Plantain Cups & Tacos, so of course I went with a Turkey Burger ($6). Made to order with fresh ground turkey, (not a patty like most places do turkey) this a sizable burger. It comes with lettuce, tomatoes, raw onions & pickles. Any additional toppings like cheese, caramelized onions, etc are extra. You have the option to make your burger a combo($3) w/ fries (garlic parm, cajun, sweet potato) and a drink. The burger was well seasoned and juicy on a toasted brioche bun, and meat to bread ratio was matched correctly. Both the cajun fries (thick cut) and the sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. David the gentlemen @ the counter and our server as well, was welcoming and cool. He offered some good suggestions and some jokes. I had to get on him for forgetting my pickles but it was all in fun. At the end Chef Joan Vargas asked us how we enjoyed our food and promised me on my next visit he will have some spicy mustard. So I'm sitting here still trying to fight the heat from these delicious habanero passion fruit wings. Hot and tasty exactly how I love my wings. It helps that it comes with a serving of ranch sauce and vegetables to cool your mouth down. The chorizo plantain cups were amazing. The flavor was beaming from all over. Having the big bistro burger and the burger is cooked excellent. The onions are very flavorful as well as the Gouda cheese tops this burger off correctly. The sweet potato fries are good but would've been great if there was a pairing sauce to go with it. The presentation was just as good if not better as your Manhattan restaurants situated quietly in the Bronx. The prices were well below average which is going to keep this place going. Burgers were bland no seasoning, The bottom bun was soggy probably due to it being in a container (?), They didn't listen when I wrote on the uber eats instructions to not ads certain items because of allergies. The fries were okay the garlic ones being the best but alas I found a hair in it. Immediately right after I finished eaten I had diarrhea and then threw up my meal. So this is a new spot for me. I decided to try it due to it being less than a mile away from me. I treated my mother for a little something before a later on dinner. Super cute spot to get a quick bite. I live near by and had no idea this place was there. The menu is pretty decent. I was so hungry I ordered Mac & cheese balls, plantain cups (shrimp), and Mango BBQ wings. The wings were really good, meaty and the blue cheese was fresh. I had the bistro burger which was too greasy. The meat es kind of flavorless. No seasoning in the Patty. The caramelized onions were good but too wet. Fries were good but needed salt to bring them together, wish they crispy but that's a personal preference. Overall a great place with great merengue y bachata playing in the background. The place is small and has a local. neighborhood feel. Parking is a little hard to find for those of you who are driving.
