I don't have to shop for what I want and try to find a way to get it home... this makes it possible!! Unfortunately I didn't know they didn't have some of my plants until they got here, and I didn't know what time to expect them until the day of delivery... so my ONLY reservation is that I wish communication was a little better. Even an email confirmation of the order would be helpful. I'm willing to drive from Texas bc I am seeking a specific tree, yet over the course of a full year and leaving voicemail, writing txt msgs and trying to be patient I'm really pushed to a whole other level of feeling slighted. The owner pays attention to her yelp reviews one by one but doesn't have the decency to acknowledge potential customers. STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT CONFUSE this business with the reputable Amelia's Smarty Plants in Lake Worth Beach as I did. I ordered 11 plants and paid with AMEX. I arranged delivery for July 24, and engaged landscapers to install the plants on July 25.. Without notice, the delivery arrived missing 2 Mast trees, with a near-dead Marlberry shrub, and with an Orange Geiger Tree that needed life support. Megan Prat was unapologetic and said the nurseries didn't have my Mast trees, but suggested that I buy larger sizes which would add $335 to the order. BAIT & SWITCH? I felt so. She accepted the return of the Marlberry shrub with its curled brittle leaves (see pic) after the driver told us that it was the only one that the nurseries had. I texted her images of the Orange Geiger Tree flopping in its loose soil (see pic and video). She texted back: "There's nothing wrong with it. When you plant it put soil around the base of the plant and it won't move" (see screenshot). I did as she advised and the foliage continued to die over the next four days (see pic) so I asked for a replacement. She replied via text: "The Orange Geigertree isn't covered under warranty because you planted it so we won't replace it" (see screenshot). I would NEVER AGAIN do business with Megan Prats or Smarty Plants Nursery LLC (smartyplantsnursery.com), address of record 11600 SW 136th Street, Miami 33176. Check out her 10-year old LLC at Sunbiz.org. From my conversations with Ms. Prat and online research, it appears that she operates out of a residential single family home where there is no significant nursery inventory and that she doesn't lay eyes on the products that she ships. I think she might make a great character in a Carl Hiaasen novel. Incidentally, my family has had a thriving nursery business for 50 years in the southeastern US, and we prosper because we don't do business this way. great selection, but if you know any better than you likely will be disappointed by the size of most plants in proportionality to the their pot size. And we know this is where pricing comes in. I recently bought a 15g tree that was the size of a 5g I had previously bought at another nursery. This was not a one off deal, I've noticed this over multiple purchases. they seem to show a few select specimens on their website, so make sure you ask for a picture and don't be afraid to tell them you want a different specimen. the root balls on most of the plants I've gotten from them are loose and difficult to transplant. I would only use them if you can't get a specimen from somewhere else. read more

So I called this bussiness over the weekend. I was planning on putting in an order of 30 plants. The rudest and nastiest person answered the call. the store owner has the worst customer service you can imagine. I asked how far they can deliver cause I was considering getting in shipped within south Florida or picking up in person. I asked her what her hours are so I could pick up and she rudely snapped back to me it's online store only all the info is online. I said "damn why so rude? you have terrible customer service". I was looking for a particular plant that I was unable to find at a plant nursery near me, so I searched online and found that Smarty Plants had the Ilex Schilling plants in stock. I placed the order online and the plants were delivered on the day confirmed by Smarty Plants via my email. I was not home when the delivery personnel arrived, but when I came home I found the plants placed in an area not visible from the street.
