One word... Extraordinary. Wow! So much to share and so many things that are unique to this establishment. First, the exterior is gorgeous. Beautiful almost white pea sized gravel and gorgeous plants and plantings everywhere (in&out). There's a false front (western style of the 1800's with a drugstore front on the left and a mercantile on the right, done in galvanized metal. Then you walk in and find yourself in a tremendous space offering a corridor of potted gardens leading you along to three spaces, one on the right for dining suited with picnic tables sporting tablecloths, enough seating for 85+. There's also a smoothie bar featuring blender drinks and nonalcoholic beers. At the center of this space, straight ahead is a mechanical bull upon a platform, with inflated walls and floor. There's someone to run that.There's another 2 areas to the left with several round tables for 20-40 others. Then there's the stuff for kids and more kids. Every kind of game for 2-12 yo kids, from little Jenga blocks, small & big trucks & excavators, playgrounds lg and sm, just all kinds of stuff everywhere, along with little picnic tables and small tables & chairs. Stopped by Royd's randomly to enjoy some breakfast. The food was a typical breakfast menu, the food was good and we enjoyed everything that we ordered. The coffee was great! I came here for brunch with my friends and ended up having such a fun time. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in. They shared menu favorites with us and what fruits were in season for us to know what juices and shakes to pick from. Since it was out first time we decided to try a little bit of everything. We tried their croquetas de jamon, Lario's Signature Appetizer which brought fried plantains stuffed with shrimp and beef, fried yuca, croquetas, tamal and masitas de puerco, and as our main dish we had the Sunday special which was oxtail. The food was delicious and very flavorful. Make sure to as for the spicy sauce. It has such a great kick. Now the food was great, but you know what was even better? The shakes and juices. I tried the mango smoothie and it was a beach getaway in a cup. After our walk around the farm and seeing the animals (goat, pig, calves, and horse) we ordered juices to go. I had the pineapple juice and it was so crisp and refreshing. No artificial taste or too sweet. This place is family friendly and dog friendly. Came looking for good food and pet friendly outdoor space. Loved the little 2 dog park areas in the back on an overcast day. Surrounded by beautiful plants we indulged in ginger lemonades and delicious Cuban food. Portions are generous and enough to share. Ended up taking some home for next day lunch. Driving along Krome Avenue looking for a place for lunch and just decided to stop here based on the ratings. It totally didn't disappoint. Such a cute venue. The staff was so friendly and the food amazing. We had fish dip as an appetizer. I had pork chunks that were moist and flavorful. My husband had shrimp creole. Royd's is a Cuban restaurant in the heart of the Redlands. The food is usually delicious, today I ordered 3 ropa viejas with rice, black beans, sweet plantains, and conch fritters. The food was very tasty but the portion sizes were super small. In addition, the wait was very long. Thankfully, we found old friends and we spent time with them while waiting for our food. I ordered some chicken noodle soup on the phone at about 11:15 PM on a Sunday. When I arrived to pick it up I didn't have to wait long. The people working there were very friendly, I felt very welcomed. The inside was beautiful, it's an outdoor place with fans and a roof to keep it cool. They also had many plants around to purchase... on my visit, I'll definitely explore more! I'd like to come back another day to have a meal and try something other than the chicken noodle soup. This place is great for an outdoor setting. Expectations were a bit high based on some of the reviews and pictures posted. As mentioned, great outdoor setting, open space for kids and also an area for pets. Went on a Sunday to get a chance to try their oxtail. My wife and I were seated quickly by the amazing hostess, which I believe is the owner and had a waiter attend to us within 10 minutes. Food was ordered and came out relatively fast and all together. Appetizer like the fried plantains and tamal were great, nothing out of the ordinary. The homemade chili was different and had a lot of flavors, loaded with beans. The main entrees of the vaca frita and oxtail were food. However, I expected the seasoning and flavor to be more impactful, but to be honest it stated a bit bland, along with the white rice. I have to admit I've had those entrees taste better elsewhere. I was a bit disappointed. Also, lot of flies and nats as soon as the food arrived. They do provide small little fans but they don't do enough. Your eating with 1 hand while using your other hand to swing away at the flies. If you want to avoid this experience, get a sandwich. Overall great place and would come back, but has a few improvements that can help with the experience. read more

Not their fault that someone called out, so I'm sure service is better on other days. Mamey Shake was sooo good! Croquettes, fried cheese, and stuffed plantain shrimp were all delicious appetizers. For my meal I had the Wednesday chicken special which was vaca pollo and it was decent. Seating is all outdoors (but covered roof) with lots of areas for kids to play and walk around. We riding down south on Krome Avenue, especially now that they've improved the roads. There's several farmers markets, and you pick spots to stop by and enjoy. Specially, this time of year that the weather is mild. So during one of our rides we saw this little place when you first see it it looks like a little western town and they advertise great food shakes, and activities for kids. We decided to stop bye and as you walk in, it's actually a huge open area they have seating, doggy parks, play areas for the kids, a stage, even plants for purchase. We ordered a couple of Fritas and a couple of fruit shakes. Everything was delicious. It was kind of empty, except for what appeared to be a few groups celebrating their Christmas luncheon's here. I came here with the family to check it out after some friends had gone the week before. The place itself is so unique and intriguing since it has a saloon vibe and yet is an outdoorsy court. We were there for breakfast and were one of the first ones there. The service was amazing we were actually attended by Royd's wife who was the sweetest as well as the lady that was helping to serve the plates. We ordered the Cuban breakfast and the food was good. I would say that only thing that didn't seem as fresh were the home fries, they tasted too oily. The coffee was good as well but overall the way that the place is set up and the environment was great! We also got to check out the backyard, which is their farm and mini petting zoo. Great food, super friendly staff and a fun Southern Florida vibe. Oh, and a mechanical bull. The fish soup (Friday only) was thick and hearty, but not fishy. The combo appetizer plate (Lario's Signature Appetizer) gave you a combination of tastes and textures that were large enough for us two to share. Along with the Fried Cheese that was perfect, not oily or greasy, we left with a couple of to-go boxes. Make sure to try the tasty hot-sauce but be careful, it sneaks up on you. It took us about 15 mins to get there from the Miami Zoo and about 40 minutes to get back to the Miami International Airport area.
