Homestead is Miami's second oldest community. Drive a little bit north into the Redlands and there are a number of plant nurseries along this section of Krome Avenue. A lot of places have added food and kiddie attractions but Santa Barbara is strictly plants. This 6.8 acre nursery specializes in flowers, trees, and garden plants. They have both native and exotic plants I walked around a bit and was impressed with the number and variety of plants they sell. They had a large selection of orchids and enough bamboo for a forest. They also sell pottery. My favorite item was the plant holders made out of tires. They have a cute little waterfall area and fish pond and there were some monk parakeets chattering away in a cage. Eager sales people were waiting around every corner eager to assist and give advice. If you have a large project they offer delivery. I really enjoyed my visit. I'm still in the planning stages of my garden project but when I'm ready to plant I'll be back. read more

They have a great variety of plants here, and all very healthy at fantastic prices. The team here is very helpful, and the property is beautiful as well! Horrible customer service. I recently purchased a new home in Miami. I was told to head to Homestead and visit a nursery to pick out plants and hedges. Santa Barbara had great reviews so I went there. Big mistake and now I need to explain my case here for the next person. I spent upwards of about $7000. This included hedges, flowers, a few palm trees, and installation. 2 weeks later, everything was delivered and installed. 2 months later a bunch of my $65/each hedges began to die. I called SB Nursery and asked for help but they told me they do not offer any type or warranty/guarantee and that all they could do was sell me more plants and that they would give me a better deal. My new quote was for hedges that were 2/3 the size of my original purchase and double the original price! I called a local landscaper and he came to take a look. Apparently the Santa Barbara install team did a horrible job and only planted the hedges about half as deep as they should have. Then they covered the exposed roots with sand and rocks which barricaded the roots in, preventing them from getting the water they needed to survive and thrive. I now spent an additional $1500 in labor to dig up all 40 hedges, dig down deeper and plant them properly. I also had to purchase 10 new hedges to replace the ones that died due to the improper planting. I sent message after message, picture after picture to both the owner and also a representative of Santa Barbara but rather than offer to work with me they just offered to sell me more and charge me more than I originally paid. This felt like a big FU from a nursery that seemed like they don't need anyones business. These are greedy people that run this nursery and they do NOT care about anything other than themselves making as much money as possible. There are plenty of nursery's in homestead and around Miami. Do not bother with Santa Barbara Nursery or you will regret it. read more

This Nursery was a pleasant surprise. I ventured out one day with the family and saw a few nurseries however nothing really appealed to me. So I went on yelp and searched nurseries In the location we were currently in. I stumbled upon Santa Barbara Nursery. My Boyfriend said ehhh it's too far.... however I insisted that we go ....and by the way it wasn't THAT far. I have to say wow! I'm so glad we drove a couple extra miles to this amazing nursery. The plants, flowers, are amazing....and the prices are even more amazing. I will never go anywhere else...,and I have to add that the owners and staff are incredibly helpful. They really go the extra mile to help their customers. read more

I just stopped in on a whim, needed to add a few things to my front flower bed. I browsed for a little and then a very sweet and highly knowledgeable lady helped me by answering any questions I had, she showed me where different things were and advised of prices. Most items don't have price tags, the prices seemed to be about half of the prices at big box stores. I will definitely go back again. read more

I was looking for a good nursery alternative to Home Depot/Lowes and came across a few in this area. Most of them I couldn't find much info on prior to driving from downtown Miami, but I was able to with Santa Barbara. Ended up going here two weeks ago and was able to get a car full of Clusia Plants for a project I am working on. So far I am happy with the plants and was very happy with the customer service at the nursery. read more

Who knew that shopping for plants could be so much fun? Maybe you knew, but I didn't. My SO does most (ok, no, she does all) of the gardening. She wanted to take a drive out to Homestead to get some plants and asked that I come along. She heard about Santa Barbara from a friend, so even though we passed a dozen or so nurseries on the way there we decided to go to that one first. The place is big but not too big that it's overwhelming. There are, of course, rows and rows of plants. All sizes and many colors. There were about 3 - 4 people working there and all of them were willing to answer our questions. We did wish they had just had more signage about plants and prices, but it worked out fine since they were willing to take the time to explain things. It helps if you speak Spanish, but if not it's ok too. Some of the people who work there speak English better than others. The plant selection is good and the plants looked healthy. They offer a variety of sizes and price points. We opted for smaller plants that ranged between $5 - $10. And now the fun part - once you pick out your plants you ride around on a golf cart to gather them up. Fun! The plants are loaded up on the back and then they drive you to the front to pay and out to the street to the car. Super easy and very fun! They are open on Sundays and take American Express = Double Points for them. read more

I've been visiting this location for years. It's by far my favorite nursery in Florida, very friendly staff (bilingual), they wear their masks and maintain a safe distance. They're very well prepared when it comes to answering any questions you might have. The office is very pretty ans the secretaries are very polite and helpful. (Also bilingual) The architecture found in the property is beautiful, the restaurant they have by the office offers very good food. The diversity in plants is amazing. Lots of very well maintained and exotic variety of plants! They also offer delivery and installation! read more

So I went on a quest to find a decent nursery, and that is when I stumbled upon this place. I love this nursery. They always have plants for fair prices and the staff is kind and helpful.
