I used to do all my friends' makeup in college and tried to keep up to date on new products and technique, not so much anymore, but needless to say when I got engaged I knew that finding the right crew to do my makeup that wasn't out of NYC would be tricky. Booking the Bloom girls was one of the best vendor choices I made. Their work was outstanding and they did a great job keeping everyone on schedule (I had ten bridesmaids so this was important). Good personality fit was also very important in my opinion when booking your makeup artist for your wedding day because you're going to be spending the day with them. I had one makeup and hair trial before them which not only was a complete disaster, but the girl wasn't friendly...which kind of boggled me. The Bloom girls are sweet, kind, and make you feel like you should on your wedding day, special and like the most beautiful you can be with their talent. I told them that their secret won't be kept for long and already I know they are booking fast (as they should). Sidenote: my mother who is like me, except she has never let anyone touch her face and do her makeup in her life even caved and let them do her makeup for my wedding the morning of. Having recently moved to the area within the year, in my hunt for a forever salon I had had several bad experiences with a stylist who just didn't listen and wanted to use my head as a canvas for their "edgy" (Read: Impractical and plain ugly) cuts and colors. My friend assured me that Rachel excelled at listening and interpreting your hair wishes. She was right on! Rachel took upwards of 10 minutes on our consult - examining the prior color in my hair, its texture and weight, looking at pictures I had brought. She advised me in what was and wasn't practical with my thick, wavy hair. I felt valued and trusted her to give me what I wanted. I am on a tight budget, and I appreciated that she went to real trouble to ensure that my highlights would look natural as they grew out - buying me a few extra weeks. The prices were competitive with other salons in the area, a little over $100 for a cut and highlight. So, actually on the low end pricewise. It was entirely worth every penny. I couldn't be happier. I will be a client there as long as I live in Albany.

I guess they thought that we were not going to pay for thwm washing my hair .. which again I left with tons of black gel in my hair! them people do not kno me what your talking about only money !!! and then there mean and rude!!!! and they talk about you while your sitting there and amongst themelves, that s so rude , disrespectful and just ungrateful. people come to your shop to get serviced and you have a problem with them. Some people may read this and think I'm nuts. They've never had Taj do their hair. There were no surprises - Taj gave me another gorgeous haircut and blow out that even inspired unsolicited compliments from my normally oblivious brothers. My only regret was that I had to come in a busy day when she had plenty of time to give me a fabulous new look but not so much time to chit-chat -- I miss my Syrian mom!

I have been going to her for 26 years, starting when I was in my early 20's. Taj gives fabulous advice and her cuts/styles are impeccable. Always up on the latest trends Taj will let you know if a cut will work for you or not. When you walk into Taj's salon she and the staff, Donna and Sara, are very warm and inviting. Taj is like the sister I never had and I love her as one. I have moved from NY to CT and now in MA and I have never, ever given one thought to even trying to find another stylist. I don't have to. I've have plenty of bad ones while I was growing up. Something I truly admire about Taj is her caring about the environment and going green. Her organic products are the best and are priced reasonably. She does not try to push products on you but will recommend ones if asked. Do yourself a favor and go see Taj. Let her cut your hair just one time and I promise you will never go see anyone else.
