She's been cutting hair for over 4 decades, she's extremely personable, easy to talk to, listens well, efficient and affordable. There's also easy parking at this location. There were things I asked for (such as texturizing) during my hair cut, and she listened to me intently saying, "you know your hair the best" and did what I asked, which I sincerely appreciated. They were able to get me in reasonably quickly. They were booked up a few days in advance. The Salon is in a home that was renovated into the salon. Very fresh and clean. Cute layout. This is more of a barber shop than a salon. There aren't any frills. I wasn't offered a water or tea. I am loving this space and how bright, airy, industrial but modern but retro all in one it is. Cohoes is super easy to get to for me. I parked right out front. Now, the important part, the hair: it's SO GREAT! Jess just knows what she's doing. I gave her buzz words: BLONDE but keep it healthy and easy to maintain. I flat out told her I wasn't planning to come in for months and I pretty much refuse to style it ever so it'd need to look good with just a solid hairbrushing every now and then. I left the details up to her and let her do her thing and the results truly blew me away! I was nervous leading up to this appointment because I was a previous bleach-a-holic and am SO PROUD of the condition I was able to get my hair in by simply leaving it alone. Two and a half weeks and a handful of washes later and it still looks and feels great! Everyone has been absolutely losing their minds at my new look but, most importantly, I love it and feel like a different, more confident person. I cannot recommend Jess enough!
