All I have to say is that Crownpoint Indiana has some darn good restaurants. We went to check out the place for a small snack because my friend's daughter's love their sandwiches. Sip has counter walk up service and then they bring you your food. We tried the blueberry Boba lemonade and split the Ewok sandwich. The Ewok is one of the more tasty sandwiches I've had in a long time. It was amazing and massive. It was very sweet of them to serve the sandwich on two plates and give us an extra side of the pasta salad. The bread was hot and crispy, and the chicken filling was moist, and it was just great. Of course it being named the Ewok might have made me a little partial since I'm a Star Wars fan. The pasta salad was super garlicky, it needed a little bit of salt, but definitely edible. The inside of this place is so adorable with all of the eclectic furniture that it is the perfect spot to go and hang out with a beverage, coffee or a sandwich. No complaints.

I have a severe food allergy and as of right now, the app does not support allergen notifications…read moreso ordering via the Smoothie King app isn't an option. =[ At other locations, I call ahead and place an order, explain the allergies, and they prep it in the allergen blender and have it ready for me. I've never had a problem doing this before and order this way from locations in Merrillville, Schererville, St. John, Mokena, and Orland Park. I tried to call ahead here and the girl who answered the phone wouldn't accept the order, stating that I had to place through the app. When I explained that the app doesn't support allergy notifications, she stated that my only option was to come in and place the order in person. She stated I couldn't even place the order online and call to notify about allergies on the online order, because they didn't accept any phone orders or modifications. Even when I stated the severity of the allergy and that every other location did this without a problem, her reply was that they didn't do that at their Crown Point location. It's not that much of an issue, but I'm trying to minimize the amount of time I'm around a lot of people. It's safer to place an order and just come in to pick it up to maximize distancing. I did come in to place my order after they refused to accept it or modifications over the phone and they had five employees just hanging out and the place was empty. Four were standing behind the counter talking and the fifth was hanging out by a boy's car in the parking lot. It made their refusal to accommodate even more frustrating because they didn't even have customers and they were over staffed (they kept joking about how they only have four employees but for some reason had five that day). Kind of seemed like laziness, to be honest. Smoothie was all right. Your standard smoothie king smoothie. But I'm pretty disappointed in the staff here. If you have allergies or sensitivities, I recommend just going to the Merrillville location instead.

The staff is efficient, personable and 'on point' Kaylee warmly greeted me as I entered the building. She was very patient with me as I me meandered through the menu. She provided suggestions of drinks that would fit my taste as I told her I prefer tart over sweet. I ordered a large Sweater Weather for my tea and a large Strawberry Cheesecake for my shake. At my 1st sip of the Sweater Weather, Kaylee was spot on. It had a tart flavor that gives it a zing similar to that of a green apple jolly rancher or raspberry. It looked like the 4th of July in a large cup as the colors of red and blue blended together. The background music was not too loud and everything appeared quite clean. There was a soft but pleasant smell of candles in the air as well. I highly recommend popping in or some of their new fall drinks to start your day.
