The woman behind the counter acted as if my presence was bothering her. However I wanted to try the food because I heard so many great things. The lady did not seem to be well informed because every question I asked was answered with one word response. I ordered a jerk chicken wrap that was very sloppily made with sauce dripping off the paper. I also order a lemonade that tasted like sugar water; I got a bunch of sugar grains at the bottom from the first sip. As I'm checking out the lady doesn't even bother giving me my total or ask if I'm paying with cash or card. Long story short, I'll never come here again. The wrap was not at all satisfying. I should have went to jimmy johns.

A whole lotta greens, straight to the dome. I got the Kale Kraze Salad (quinoa, almonds,…read morecranberries, avocado and kale marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper). The salad came with a lemon garlic dressing on the side, which I didn't pour over the salad, but instead dipped forkfuls lightly into the cup. The salad was huge! There was no way I could finish it, and I didn't. But it was satisfying and made my body feel oh-so good, the way that a body feels good when eating whole foods. Roots Market Cafe has a lot of nourishing options here. I had a hard time choosing what to get, because they have so many tasty-sounding options. Most (all?) of the menu is either vegetarian or vegan, and they offer salads, wraps, smoothies, juices, and a selection of baked goods. This place is also a little market! You can find fresh produce here -- I saw sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, ginger root, bananas, pineapple, berries and other things. They also sell alternative milks, mushroom coffee, organic eggs, kimchi, vegan snacks, and things I have never seen, like vegan marshmallows and vegan marshmallow cream. Who knew that existed? I got my salad to go, but they have a dining room where you can sit and stay a while. The dining room is separate from the market and ordering counter, and is located in an entirely different room.

I recently ordered a medium Good Mojo drink along with a party-size hummus and veggie platter and…read moreunfortunately the experience was pretty disappointing. The hummus was extremely watery--more like a soup consistency than the thick, creamy hummus I expected. It made it difficult to enjoy with the vegetables or chips. Speaking of the platter, for something labeled "party size," there were surprisingly very few vegetables included. Instead, it came with a large amount of chips. I was also expecting multigrain chips based on the photo but they were just plain tortilla chips, which wasn't what I had in mind. The Good Mojo juice itself tasted good, although it was served warm rather than chilled. Overall, for the amount I spent, I had much higher hopes for the quality and portion balance of what I was getting. It just didn't feel like the value matched the price.

All I have to say is that Crownpoint Indiana has some darn good restaurants. We went to check out the place for a small snack because my friend's daughter's love their sandwiches. Sip has counter walk up service and then they bring you your food. We tried the blueberry Boba lemonade and split the Ewok sandwich. The Ewok is one of the more tasty sandwiches I've had in a long time. It was amazing and massive. It was very sweet of them to serve the sandwich on two plates and give us an extra side of the pasta salad. The bread was hot and crispy, and the chicken filling was moist, and it was just great. Of course it being named the Ewok might have made me a little partial since I'm a Star Wars fan. The pasta salad was super garlicky, it needed a little bit of salt, but definitely edible. The inside of this place is so adorable with all of the eclectic furniture that it is the perfect spot to go and hang out with a beverage, coffee or a sandwich. No complaints.

Upon arrival he couldn't remember if we could order inside or if this was a drive-thru only establishment. We figured this out and went inside. There was loud upbeat music playing. High energy baristas happy to help. I explained to the young lady that it was my first visit and that I had no idea what to order. She was so sweet and used her iPad to ask me questions about flavors I like and if I was thinking of going with a coffee drink or energy refresher. I'm thinking it's almost my bedtime. The last thing I need is more energy. Lol. We chose a blended frozen coffee drink; Golden Eagle with banana bread syrup, soft top (cold foam), and caramel drizzles. We also added a slice of banana bread, chilled not warm. We are both having it for breakfast. Love both the energy and the vibe of this coffee spot. It's like a party. I would for sure go back here as many times as possible on my next visit!
