Long Review: I asked Michael to come in for an estimate on one Saturday at 9:00am in the morning, for cement work on my backyard and front of my home. Michael was at the site early. So early in fact that we did not know it was him that was waiting in front of our home. He later texted me at 9:00am and told me he was at the front. He informed me of exactly what type of work will be done, how it would be done, and cost. I asked him for an estimated time it would be done, and he informed me it would be done right so it may take some time. I understood and expected at least a week or two for it to be done, as the area in the backyard requires you to go through the home to get access (not ideal for cement work). I was informed by several other contractors and neighbors that also did cement work on their backyard from others, that a truck outside with a long tube going through the home would be the fastest and efficient way. The project in its entirety took three days! The way his crew was able to work mixing the concrete by hand and laying the concrete was incredible. They considered everything, the level of the concrete, the drainage tube in the middle, the exact measurements necessary to build, the design, and more. Ultimately, what was done was so professional that the same neighbors that hired others to do their backyards with cement from other companies, came to me and said that they did an amazing job, much better than the one that they had hired. I had scheduled Michael to come at 8:00am every subsequent day to work and he showed up at least 30 minutes early with the team, every day. When the project was done, he cleaned everything, did any touchup work as a bonus, and left. I will sum up by saying if you want professional communication, timeliness in work, as well as expert craftmanship from start to finish, hire Michael and Riverside Roofing and Masonry.

The next day I inspected the attic thinking that maybe the solar panels installed two years ago may be the cause. To my surprise and relief the cause was a missing plastic cover that was on the roofs powered exhaust vent. It had blown off during Fridays storm. Luckily my tenant had stored the cover but did know what it was. The vent with the cover on looks like a mushroom. On Sunday, I used Angie 's list to located a Staten Island roofer since my Brooklyn guy had not yet called back and I didn't want to risk another rain storm. The first contractor that called was already talking about replacing the exhaust vent at about $1600 for the job I cut him short since I only wanted a cover replaced. I said this is not looking good . Good bye. About 5 minutes later Marke calls me I got lucky, real lucky in finding a guy that did not try to cheat me. I told him all that was needed was to replace the cover. I texted him the photos of the cover. He stated that he could possibly fix the cover once he takes a look at it. It may be hard to find a replacement. At 10am he arrived at the house with his father. (Once he said that was his father, I knew I had the right guy) He inspected the roof and confirmed he could do a decent repair. He showed me pics of the roof vent. No need to change it. He used metal strips and screws to attach the cover. Then he placed ice/water shield and adhered it to the cover. He took pics again after the repair. The price was very reasonable The honesty was superb The time arrangement could not have been better. I paid cash and he later emailed me an invoice as I had requested. He is a good man who works with his father and since he did not steer me wrong, I decided to give him an excellent review!! I hope you call him if you ever do need a reliable and honest roofer. By the way, my Brooklyn roofer did call me back and confirmed that he would have done the same.

He followed up within 2 days to give me a new estimate since the gutters on the side of the house began to leak as well. We communicated via text, which was the best form of communication for me. He explained what needed to be repaired thoroughly and listed all the materials needed. This would be the third time I had a contractor come to repair my gutters within the last 5 years. It has been a nightmare trying to get my gutters fixed, however this time around I felt confident in hiring Justin and his crew. He sent me a quote detailing the work that needed to be done. I had fascia boards installed, aluminum capping, vinyl vented soffit, mesh covers, and a new gutter replaced only in the front of the house due to my neighbor's gutters hanging a foot onto my side of the house causing a waterfall every time it rained. Since the gutters were pretty new, I did not get new gutters for the rest of the house. They had removed and reinstalled my existing gutters. He was very fair in his pricing, so I moved forward with the contract. And he gave me a 10 year warranty! His partner, Ramon, came with installers the following day and completed the job within 2 days. They were all polite, professional, and accommodating. I would definitely recommend them. The job was beautiful and they cleaned up afterwards!

There were a lot of issues that needed addressing, predominantly the floor was laid incorrectly and within months, tiles were popping up. The owner Andy was great, with us every step of the way. His team was able to identify what was done wrong and correct it in a timely manner so as not to inconvenience us longer than we had to be (2 adults, 3 girls with one bathroom!). Owner Andy was in contact with us virtually every day, asking us about the progress, addressing any questions and concerns, and even called us a week after the job was done to make sure that we felt everything was to your satisfaction. Really appreciate Andy's hands on approach and taking the time to make sure that the customer is satisfied and that the job is done right. Aside from that, this is an old building. It is amazing that it is standing because not one wall is straight, nor the floor or the ceiling. You will not see any of that when you look at my kitchen. Luis and his team managed to "camouflage" it. My budget and the final approval would not allow for any major wall changes besides plastering. They also replaced my floor from tile to parquet-looking. Paragon Chimney & Roofing completed a $15,000 project on my house in Feb 2024 with a written 5-year warranty on the invoice (Invoice #77). Ever since then, my roof has been leaking continuously every time it rains. Their installation has multiple severe issues: 1.) Roof Leaks: Failed to install proper metallic counter/step flashing around the roof penetration, causing active water leaks into my attic. 2.) Code Violations & Safety Hazards: They ran flexible stainless steel liner directly against wooden framing without proper insulation/clearance, and the basement connector pipe lacks proper upward pitch, leading to gas/exhaust odors leaking into the home when heating turns on. I have contacted Adam and the company repeatedly since October 2025 asking them to fix the leak under warranty, but they have completely ignored me and failed to honor their 5-year warranty. Unethical Practice: Upon finishing the job, the workers took my phone outside under the guise of helping me log into my account and wrote a 5-star Google review for themselves without my consent.
