I know I see a lot of bad reviews, but I will say these guys have been fantastic. We have had a couple of repairs and we are very happy. Recently the transmission went out and they covered completely. It took longer than expected, but I totally understand due to the fact they want to get it repaired in the most efficient manner including costs. We were provided with a car while our car was down and in the end we are overjoyed and relieved that they stuck behind their product and replaced our transmission which would have been $6,000 out of pocket. Thank you. I would highly recommend this company. I own a business myself and great service is what keeps us in business. Part of the issue that people don't understand is the communication from the dealer or your mechanic. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Purchased warranty from Endurance. Left my vehicle at shop for repairs on 7/29/20. Problem was diagnosed and shop made several calls to SMART AUTO to verify coverage. I also called and was placed on hold from 45 minutes to 2 hour and 30 minutes over a period of 6 days. As of 8/10/20 shop nor myself was able to speak with an account manager with SMART AUTO. I authorized the repair and paid out of pocket, needed the vehicle. Worst experience ever, very rude customer service reps. Total waste of money and time. Even repair shop stated they were the worst warranty company to deal with. I purchased this warranty service from a local dealer thinking i bought a safety net for this used vehicle. I've tried to get service done 3 separate times and all 3 claims have all been denied. I paid for the top service agreement and the pamphlet does state it covers the item but they continue to say no to those repairs. I've called several times the dealership has also called on my behalf and it sucks knowing that i paid $2500 for something that will never get used. I've had smart Autocare for 4 months. I bought a vehicle in February of 2020 and purchased the extended warranty as it was highly recommended. The vehicle was sold to me in perfect working order, but when an electrical issue came up whileIe I was using my blue tooth they stated the dealership sold me the car like this and that they weren't going to cover it. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Smart autocare and find a company that has better ratings and stands behind their product. I should have done my research before I purchased the warranty. All I can say about my experience is that they have paid for my two repairs but ONLY after I did a lot of escalating my concerns up the ladder wasting TONS of hours that could have spent doing something necessary and way more productive. The first time they didn't want to pay the claim I do think that the dealership had a large part in it since they were price gouging on parts and labor. I am sure the majority of the people they do this to just accept it and move on. If you have had a strut repair under an exclusionary warranty by Smart AutoCare it should have been covered. Keep your receipts and file a claim with the Attorney General's office and get your money back as this is BS. These warranties cost a ton of money and they have a large staff working to NOT pay your claim so you need to arm yourself and go to battle when necessary. The one I just experienced was TOTALLY on Smart Auto Care. I am female almost 60 years old and while I couldn't rebuild my car, I do know what the parts of the vehicle are and what they do, what they are used for, why they are important, necessary, optional, etc. My son's vehicle had bad rear struts which are clearly covered under our warranty. We took the car in to have them repaired after reviewing our Smart AutoCare contract and calling them to discuss the strut coverage with our warranty. The shop submitted the part numbers for the STRUTS and they were denied by the Certified mechanic (adjuster) as stating they weren't part of the structure, blah blah blah. To say I was annoyed is far from an understatement. The mechanic is stating they aren't struts????? WTH???? The repair is clearly covered under the warranty and the part numbers when I googled them clearly showed strut. So, after a ton of run around, I was able to get someone in management on the line. The adjuster would not accept pictures and said he didn't need them because the decision was already made and he knows what he's doing...blah blah blah. The management told me they "googled" the part number and it shows shocks not struts. Really? You know what you are doing, are mechanics and experts and you googled a part number? Don't you have catalogs and a list of covered parts at your disposal? At any rate, I took the number they say they were given (which they were not given that part number) and then also googled the part number that the mechanic working on the vehicle gave me and BOTH of them clearly showed STRUT? The management asked me if I knew the difference between a strut and a shock. Really? Would you ask a Man that question? Even though you think I'm stupid and I don't know the difference..... here you go people, here's the difference.... This part is clearly a strut not a shock. Does your certified mechanic adjuster know the difference? Apparently not, since he refused to look at the pictures that clearly show the parts and the vehicle repair is for a STRUT not a shock. Why do these warranty people immediately think you are stupid and didn't read your warranty coverage, don't "understand" it, don't know the difference between parts and what your car needs, etc.? I may not disassemble and install car parts, but I'm not stupid and do my research/homework before I submit my claims. I know what my warranty covers unless you want to push some random line in the middle of the small print that is too small to read.... (don't ever buy a warranty that has small print that you can't read) The claim has been paid but not in full as expected... of course.... right? They finally conceded that they were struts and paid ONLY for the struts not for any of the necessary parts that will break during installation like the link bars. If we don't have the link bars, we can't install the struts but the warranty company is ONLY paying for the struts and NOTHING else. It's sad you need to become your own expert in regards to the way the warranty reads, etc. so you can escalate your claim and get it paid. I've now had to do this for BOTH repairs they should have covered without giving me any static about it. I get they are in business to make money but it feels like they are in the business of screwing customers that give up on the repair. Note to Smart AutoCare Management: Don't assume that your female customer doesn't understand the repair. Very rude, condescending & sexist. Don't give up! File claims with the Attorney General's office, Consumer Protection Division, BBB (they won't do anything but at least others can see the type of company they are and the problems with their product/service), Your local news station to ask about doing a story on Warranty Rip Offs as I'm sure they could find a smathering of people willing to talk about bad experiences with Smart AutoCare and others. Go to social media and start reviewing them everywhere you can... Trust Pilot, Yelp, Google, Facebook, Twitter, and many others. I had two U joints and wheel bearings fixed about 4 months ago in my f-250. These items were clearly covered in my contract with auto care. I had my ford dealership try and get it covered from them and after months they agreed to pay $350. The overall cost of the fix was just under $2300.00. Basically the only option given to me is to pay the remaining difference for the repairs. I have the advantage plan through smart auto care and it has been nothing but and nightmare. First they took16 days to approve the work but said they will only pay for 7 days rental so now im stuck with an expensive car rental bill. Everyone I spoke with could care less about helping you. They also turned down the claim for the axle bolts saying its maintenance but the dodge dealership my car is at said NO it's not. I purchased this warranty through a dealership when I bought my Mini Cooper. I paid about $3000 for the top tier warranty. I've had my car about 4 years now and have had numerous repairs on it at the dealership of which Smart AutoCare covered around 75-90 percent of the cost. There are some exclusions to what they cover but these guys easily save me a few thousand dollars every time my car needs a repair. I've also never had a problem getting Adjusters to check out the car in a timely manner to get the claims approved fast. I'll definitely continue to use them when purchasing my future vehicles. read more

January 2021, I purchased a 2014 Kia Sorento Sx with approximately 84k ultimately purchasing the extended smart autocare Premier plus warranty for an additional $2500 to cover any powertrain issues. Fast forward June 2022 (103k) I brought my car into the dealership thinking I had an issue with the thermostat or water pump, turns out Head gaskets leaking and surprise surprise Smart autocare will not honor it as per Kia Dealer and Appraiser UNLESS there is an internal issue within the engine itself. I was advised that my option would be to pay $1500 to have the dealer tear down the engine until the source of failure is found but it would be pointless because they will not cover because I need a new engine which in turn will be $9000. I called smart auto care to cancel my extended warranty as it will now be completely useless seeing as though I have owned this vehicle for 18 months, owe $15,000 and apparently looking at a $9000 repair bill and was told I needed to contact the dealer I bought my car from. I reached out to the dealer and discussed everything that was going on and he began to investigate himself. He in turn told me the information I was given was wrong, they will cover the leaking head gasket but the will not cover the cylinder and I would have to pay $4000 for that to be done. When I signed those papers, it stated the engine is covered, not they can pick and choose what to cover. Now, because of this, I am stuck paying $15k on a vehicle that I can no longer drive and that I've only had for 18 months and driven 18,000 miles. Not impressed. Took vehicle in exactly a year ago with a clunk in transfer case. They wouldn't fix until it TOTALLY FAILED. So two weeks ago guess what wheels wouldnt move! I have made three claims with this company and every single time it has been a pain. They do not ever want to pay and they are trying to figure out ways to not come up with the money. Even though you paid them a large amount to make sure your vehicle is covered they don't do anything for you as a customer. truck i was working on had this warranty, rear diff bearings were bad and a tie rod was bad. claim was denied because the vehicle was "modified" it had a 1" leveling kit in it. we normally do 2" kits (we are a ford dealership) and never once did a ford adjuster say that would void any warranty of any kind. it has no affect on the differential bearings. would not recommend to anyone. and it took over a week and a half to come to this decision, customer was without a truck the whole time read more

As a service advisor this is the worst extended warranty company. They say they are the leader in customer satisfaction so why are the hold times in excess of 1 hour??? I was just on hold with them for 2 hours trying to check on a claim I called in on Monday ( Monday's hold time was 57 minutes) I've called Allstate, Continental and American Auto Guard warranty companies just this week and had the call answered and completed in under 20 minutes. So don't blame it on COVID-19, their hold times were long way before the pandemic. And it's always let's make a deal on the part cost with them. I spoke with several different people that will tell you the claim will be approved in 24-48 and a week 1/2 later you have nothing. Ask to speak to a supervisor you are told there is no supervisor on duty and they will relay your message to them. Of course the message never gets there. After the claims department finally reached out to the dealership to get the total to fix the car they wanted to go back and forth negotiating what they could fix the car for. if you wanted to negotiate and not pay the claim give us a list of acceptable dealers we could take the car to begin with but don't do that after the car is already there. They lie to customers about coverage to systematically leave you paying out of pocket more than 50% or decline coverage all together. The alternator in my car seized and caused the engine to break down. The car is immobile and after having it towed to the dealer, the inspector from the warranty company determined (IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES) that it was my fault. Apparently, by not immediately stopping in the middle of the highway when the light turned on I caused this breakdown. Mind you, my car has less than 100,000 miles on it. So now, after dealing with a rude and unprofessional warranty company (one of the representatives called me "sis") I am saddled with a $5,000 bill to assume repairs. I am a college student who commutes a half an hour every single day to get to class, I have been scavenging for rides for eight days now and need to take time off of school to work extra hours to pay for something I had bought an extended warranty contract to avoid.
