My wife and I were running around doing errands, and we had one item to buy that we couldn't find at a grocery store or at Costco. We found it easily in bulk at Smart & Final Extra! for less than it would have otherwise cost in bulk at Costco. The shelves appeared very well stocked, and the cashier who was the only staff member we interacted with was very friendly and quick on our way out. It had been several years since I had been in this store, when I also had trouble finding a specific item. This store is located at Tatum and Thunderbird. They are open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. According to the store website, store services include ordering delivery and pickup online as well as oven roasted chicken. While there are several days during the year with shortened hours, the only day that they are closed is Christmas. Smart & Final has been around for more than 152 years and offers fresh produce, quality meats and groceries, and thousands of club-sized items to fit every budget and need. There is no need for a membership fee. On the website (https://www.smartandfinal.com), there are promo codes for free delivery on your next three orders of $35 or more. I have been a customer for several years. I was personally attacked by an associate at the store and was called racist. I was caught off guard and was very offended. I did nothing to deserve the comment. I am always friendly and say hello to everyone. I complained to corporate. They decided the way to solve it was to have me only checked out by Managers. No matter what and I was made to feel like an outcast. This is how you treat customers. I was publicly embarrassed with this process. The last couple times I went in I got in a line where a manager was working started loading on the belt then was asked to go to a different register. I have called corporate to address the issue with no response three times. Today when I called I was told I need to just shop somewhere else. Shame on you for your support of them treatment of a customer in this manner. I am not a hateful, racist person and feel very hurt by the shameful behavior of this company. I went in there, convenient center at Tatum & Thunderbird(NE corner)with medium sized lot. I bought round tortilla chips(medium bag $3.50)and an avocado($1 good value). The avocado was excellent with just the right softness for dipping the chips. Not the largest store or cheapest like dollar stores but has some good deals. Recommended. read more

I shop here probably 10 times a week , I'm a caterer, who gets lots of last minute events . This particular location is by far the best, cleanest,most organized and professionally managed . For everything from home shopping to catering they have it , prices are competitive with supermarkets in area, but you will not get the great service you do here read more

I live near 44th St & TBird and I recently started going to Smart & Final. Great selection of food and never crazy busy. Kind of the neighborhood store. Great selection of Wine, Produce is fresh and the Rotesserie Chicken is the Bomb dot Com!! Huge containers of Hummus for nearly the same price as Target & FRYS but 2x as much! It's your typical Smart and Final store. They have a lot of good items were but I have found them cheaper at other stores: GT's kombucha for example; its $3.19 a bottle here but I have found it for $2.97 elsewhere. Like I have said in my other Smart and Final review I think their house brand beef jerky made by First Street is one of the better brands on the market. They have a decent amount of items in the baking section so if that is your thing you might want to stop by here. read more

I was shopping here this morning when a lady came into the store with a dog and proceeded to place him in the shopping cart. I called this to the attention to the woman in charge of the floor and I was told the woman was a regular and her dog was a service dog. I respect the fact dogs are necessary companions for some but should be lead on a leash and walked through the store. NOT PLACED IN THE SHOPPING CART WHERE U PUT MY FOOD. My mom recommended me to grocery shop here but I never heard of it before. I thought it was something other than a grocery store, but when she came to visit, she wanted to visit. Usually a 3 but definitely a 1 based on their pandemic response. Shelves are almost completely bare - worse than most retailers. No sanitizing going on and no wipes for the shopping carts to be found. Unhelpful and rude staff, almost relishing In the situation. Pauline the cashier was very rude at this location. There was only one customer at an open register. She had no customers at her line. I walked to her line she never greeted me or looked at me. I asked if she could double bag the heavy items. She then had an attitude. After my purchase she states" next time wait for a cashier to call you up we have to control the crowd" my response was "what crowd " the was only one person in line. Never spend your money here! I don't understand why the reviews for this store are not higher. The weekly sales are great and in general the store has very good buys. The meat section is my favorite part of the store. They have amazing meats especially the steaks. When steaks are on sale they are a fantastic buy. You can't compare these meats to Fry's or any other local supermarket--they are just way better. I love Smart and Final. It used to be closer to my house but it's still fairly convenient, on my way home from/to work. I think they get way better business here too, so good for them. I like that I can buy items in larger sizes and in bulk, but also buy smaller quantities if needed. It's never super busy that I have to wait in line for long, and each register is named after a street which is adorable. I can always find what I need here and sometimes there are some really good deals on produce. Oh and they have a nice bulk section where I can get my oatmeal. read more

I had been shopping here at least 3 times a week. The last visit will be the end of going to this store. There is one cashier who is particularly aggressive to customers entering the store with masks below the nose. If you have a problem with it, there is a better way to speak to customers. It was extremely rude. I have a medical condition that is triggered if I cover my mouth and nose. Besides, you're wearing a mask, what are you afraid of catching? I tried online delivery first time, said would be free for first time so I thought why not try it. Ordered bottle water on sale, large amount. My order went thru but then I see there is an added delivery fee of over $9 which is falsely advertised two delivery fees type? Other than there amazing prices, one thing stood out about this store. When I was paying I grabbed my debit card that had insufficient funds on it. When it popped up on the screen, Jessica, the friendly woman who was working, turned the screen and pointed to it instead of shouting it out where there were customers around. It was very professional of her and showed me that they truly care about their customers. I paid with a different card and went on my way. Just finished a trial shopping at the new smart and final. Rather disappointed in gluten-free selection. Also, my checker couldn't have been any less friendly. Didn't greet me, didn't ask me any questions at all just started checking me out swinging my groceries onto the counter either roughly and nobody nobody offered to put them in my basket and she never said thank you or goodbye. Very very poor customer service. I won't be back on a regular basis especially considering the good customer service and friendly people at Safeway. What a shame read more

If you ever get JANET with the glasses be warned for her to ruin your entire shopping experience. RUDE TO ME yesterday when I entered the store to use the restroom to wash my hands, and was yelled at by the manager and cashier, telling me to "Cover your face with a mask or you can't shop here!" I refused to wear a mask and said I am not afraid of the virus, have not had a cold or the flu in 25 years, and only wanted to wash my hands in their public restroom. They continued to scold me loudly and said I had to leave. My comment today is that I will NOT have my civil liberties stifled by the liberal lunatics who use scare tactics that are NOT BASED ON SCIENCE. Doctors say "DON'T wear a mask because you need oxygen!" And breathing your own carbon dioxide from a mask is NOT healthy! Never will spend money here again. I go to this Smart and Final all the time because it's so convenient. It's nearby and has everything I'm always looking for. The store is always in great shape and well stocked. The employees here are cheerful and sincere. As I walk through the aisles, I often run into an employee and they greet me with a smile and a "hello." Went in this new store during rush hour. There was one other customer. Lots of employees were milling around, but not one of greeted me. Not that I need a big welcome, but you'd think with so few customers, they would be glad for the ones there. The prices don't seem to be all that low, even on the bulk items.
