The service here is horrible. Not 1 person said Hi or Welcome. I'm New to Smart & Final and this location is not good. A lot of employees on the floor but just burnt out. From produce guy to the crew filling the shelves. One employee almost hit me with a U Boat/Wheeler with product. He didn't even apologize or acknowledge it. I downloaded the app and I have a customer number but my Cashier didn't ask for it and she seemed to be in a hurry. Her name was Kathleen E and she was all about turning and burning. She did take time to say Hi to fellow employees that were walking in front of her. I think she should focus on her customers. She just sat there on her stool and I started bagging my stuff up, and a man helped me. It was kind of a joke. read more

This is a beatiful store full of great bargains on everyday food items. I used to shop at their sister store in Salinas al the time so i decided to give them a try. And i was pleasantly pleased to see the same great prices on neccesities. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the knownexactly where all the items are that i was looking for. I'm going to make this fast as possible. For it being a small compact store, they always have a line, it's crazy to me. Always 1 cashier open. If you're coming here in a rush, just keep driving unless you have to use the bathroom. The employees are super nice and helpful though. So as long as you have time then come on by. read more

Went in here to get a couple of things and Estaban was the only cashier. He started ringing up my items without a word said to me and I noticed I didn't get the sale price for the water, so I asked "isn't the water on sale"? Instead of responding you must purchase 4 to get the sale price, (as I was told later). He cleared the register and began ringing up all of my items again this time saying the price of each item out loud in a condescending tone. I said I only asked about the water. That's when I was told you must purchase 4 for the sale price. It may have been on a sign but I didn't see it. Anyway as I was leaving I notice he greeted the next person with a smile and with a very friendly attitude speaking in Spanish. That was something I never experienced when he checked me out. Being new to the area not sure if I will want to come back to this S&F again. read more

Extremely disappointed, was directed to unload my vehicle for returns, employee started returning everything, then manager stepped in and said they won't take returns on name brand items. We are within the guidelines of the return policy, nothing was opened or touched. Heading to BBB and corporate after this so they learn how to treat customers at this location. read more

Just want to share a positive thought .... I come into this store at least once a week as my son does speech therapy right down the street and it's always a pleasant experience. Kat or Kathleen is the cashier I see most frequently and she's always smiling and helpful and we always engage in friendly conversation. My most recent visit was today and honestly I have had quite a day, and not in a good way lol but coming in here put a smile on my face, I appreciate your hard work and friendliness Kat! I was so disappointed today. We went to Smart and Final and one of the things I bought was Woolite laundry detergent. Apparently the handle had a little residue of soap. When my husband lifted it into our truck, the handle slipped, it hit the ground and the lid cracked. Soap spilled in the parking lot. We picked up the broken bottle and took it back into the store. Told him what happened and he said oh well I'll take that from you. He took it. I went to go get another one and he charged me for the second soap. That's the first time that's ever happened to me at a store I when they haven't made good on an item like that. I told him I wanted my old soap as well. Next time I'll stick to the few things that I can't get anywhere else and make the majority of my purchases at another store. I guess the caution is be careful that there's no residue on any of your items! read more

Stopped by here for some items. Shelves are fully stocked and products reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and friendly. And never thought I'd ever say this let alone in a Yelp review but their bags are nice and sturdy not the really think plastic bags most places have. read more

Disgusting. The produce is rotten. I only stopped by because I was nearby for dinner and wanted grapes. The store smells gross and the employees look like they hate their job and was not at all helpful. I ended not getting grapes because they were mostly rotten ( green grapes ) I grabbed a bag of lays chips. Went to the checkout, Mike did not help us, he said wait and walked away. He then assisted another customer. I gave mike a five dollar bill and he gave me a bloody bill back. It was disgusting. Never go there. read more

Smart and Final Extra is "kind of" a big box store. There are no frills, but the store is very clean. If you need cleaning supplies, smart and final is a go-to. They have a wide selection of restaurant supplies, such as containers, paper products, and even harder to find, sterno burners. Your going to pay a bit more than other big box's stores, but if you are looking for hard to find items, and you need items in larger containers, Smart and Final ought to be your place. read more

Smart & Final always disappoints me, yet I return. There are some things that are just easier to buy here. One roll of plastic wrap lasts me two years. I prefer to buy some things in large quantities (like baking soda), so I head here. But I can never find everything on my list, so I end up shopping elsewhere when I leave. That's a bummer. In a nutshell: go when you need large quantities of basic items. If you're like me and have an aversion to Costco membership, this is a good way to save on bulk items. read more

Kat , the cashier lady was rude. She had a bad attitude. She didn't say hi to me at first, then the transaction didn't go through because of the computer system problems, which made her have to go back and fix it. So it took more time to check me out and there was a line behind me! Kat was upset and put on me, she said out loud " every time has someone messed up the transaction, then she have to go back and redo it!" So she meant I was the one to do it, where I didn't do nothing except key in my PIN number! Oh well, she gave me the receipt with her ugly, mean face and forget to greet me again! Rude... read more

Having eaten a delightful fish sandwich and strawberry sundae at McDonalds, we continued to Costco to get gas. Fortunately we didn't get gas from McDonalds. Smart & Final is directly across the highway from Costco and I needed a half gallon of milk. Thinking it would be more convenient to get it there, we traversed the highway and found a most convenient parking place. The store was deserted today and terribly cold. I looked for avocados and they were not in the location that they had been last week, so I asked an employee who indifferently pointed in a direction that was so vague it didn't help me. I eventually found them by walking in circles and the price was twice what it was last week. I longed for a frozen food item that I buy at Lucky when I am in San Francisco and because Smart has such an unending freezer section, thought I might find it, but no luck. I headed for the milk which was what I came for anyway and the first contaIner I pulled out of the refrigerator had a "Sell By" date of 1/9/11. Being that today is 1/7/11, that is unacceptable for me, especially considering that AltaDena is a big seller. I foraged some more and found a 1/23/11, which is more like it. Picked up a couple of mundane items and headed for a check stand. Only two stands were manned and they both had signs, "This check stand closed." My husband entered one anyway and sure enough we got checked out. I don't find anything Smart about Smart & Final, so I'm not going there anymore and that's Final. read more

Very rude cashier! Dionne was incredibly rude, she didn't smile or anything, and she gave attitude when I handed her my coupons that I had. She threw the grocery bags in my cart. I am VERY PISSED at Smart & Final‼ The have in their ad, Powerade, select varieties on sale. We go only to find out that they do not carry Sugar Free Powerade Zero! In this day n age with diabetics & health conscience people, not carrying this is rude to their customers. I spoke w the manager Jeff who did not know why they do not carry it, but was nice enough to place an order for me at the sale price. Smart & Final needs to change their ways. This is by far the best Smart and Final in the valley . The store is very organized which makes it easy for me to get in and out. They always have the supplies that my business needs and order them for me when they are out. Whenever I need help Brenda is always happy to assist me by having the supplies I ordered ready for me. She has amazing costumer service and is the reason I continue to shop here. read more

This is a very clean and organized grocery store. They carry a lot of restaurant/industrial products that you can't get elsewhere. Produce is fresh and well maintained. They don't have a lot of organic or gluten free (the reason for only 4 stars) but good selection of other items. The store is small (so easy in and out) and set up well making it so much easier to navigate thru than the larger or super stores. read more

This jewel of a store now finding out about is will my go to first on my list for now on. Weird that its rarely busy which is a plus for me but I assume not alot of ppl know about it. I enjoy coming the this Smart and Final specifically because the produce is always clean and there's always a good selection of seasonal fruits and veggies. Their prices are reasonable and inexpensive. Good selection on meats, what I like about this is that there are big pieces of meat that are perfect for parties or gatherings. The people in this store are always welcoming and answer any questions i might have or if I'm looking for an item they show me exactly where it is and I'm not looking for it like crazy. read more

Everytime I go into smart and final all the employees are willing and wanting to help direct me to what it is I'm looking for ! Ive had horrible experiences as to where I'm getting eye rolling short answered and pointed fingers to help me locate what it is I need . Just last week I went into smart and final and didn't know whether or not they had a salsa I was looking for the woman walked me over to the aisle and said "here it is " she didn't was it her time or mine by pointing this way or that she directed me and made things so much easier for the both of us .
