Realist review here…read more We went on a Sunday evening with our family of 6. There was a pretty long line ahead of us. The store smelled fine, like fresh waffle cones, when we walked in. No horrible smells as others have said. Don't know if that's a Cold Stone issue or a Harbor issue, but the dumpsters or grease traps at the harbor can be really disgusting at times. Maybe someone left a dirty diaper in a trash there or maybe they neglected to take trash out one shift. Don't know, but we didn't observe this issue. The shop does need a little TLC, but it's far from strong language I'm reading in some reviews. They needed additional staff. Was a pretty long wait, but that's to be expected with only 2 gals scooping. There was a guy who flitted out from the back a couple of times, but he didn't seem idle. All our orders were correct, tasted great, and served by polite young ladies. It wasn't the fastest service, but chopping and folding ice cream is really labor intensive and they weren't slacking. Yes it's expensive. News flash: it's boutique ice cream, not blue bell. People will pay $7 for an overpriced coffee, but hand folded ice cream at the lake is too expensive?! Pfftttt... It's a small shop and rent at the harbor is ridiculous...don't complain that they lack seating. Go sit outside. It's beautiful. The freezer case is loud and kinda in the way...I feel like they could move that and it be better. It does need some maintenance, and they need to add a wet wipes dispenser in the lobby. They don't have enough staff to clean after every customer, but it's hard for customers to clean up after themselves with the dinky napkins they have. They also need a water cooler or to sell bottled waters there. These young ladies were busting their tails and suffered some rude customers behind us complaining about the wait. Unnecessary and pointless given that they were working the orders as fast as they could. They were polite to customers and to each other the whole time. If they had been staffed better, I'd give the shop 3 stars, but I'm bumping them to 4 based on how well they handled a bad situation.

When I went to pay, Naomi said either I can pay or tip her $10.00. For one cone? Highly disappointed at the lack of professionalism in this place. Do better guys.

A week later and I am still thinking about the delicious food and fantastic service! We didn't wait…read moresuper long for a table and the hosts were great. We took my dad to dinner and he complained that it was a little loud, but felt like we sat right under a speaker. I explained to him that it was part of the "vibe". Other than the volume making it difficult to hear, everything was fantastic. We probably could have asked to sit on the heated patio. The chips were warm and fresh and came with both red and green salsa, and both were super tasty. My husband asked if I could make salsa like that at home! We ordered drinks and they came quickly. I appreciated the quality of the drinks especially since we mostly ordered from their drink menu. We ordered "The Good Guac" to start and our server made sure that it wasn't too spicy or anything for my dad. I thought that was very thoughtful that she asked if how it came was ok. For food we ordered street tacos, Baja fish tacos and the parillada en fuego. The food runner seemed confused and brought us another dish (maybe the Verde molcajete) but with the loud music the message that we didn't order it was lost in translation. My husband thought maybe it was what he ordered and started in. Because our server came to check on us so quickly, she caught the mistake right away. She apologized profusely and said they were bringing what we ordered. They allowed us to keep the dish, and no sooner did we have a few bites of the deliciousness the correct food came out. They checked on us quickly, apologized profusely, brought the correct food immediately, let us keep the other food, sent another manager to apologize and finally followed up with coupons to return after making sure we were satisfied with how they handled it. I understand humans make mistakes, so I feel like the recovery or response is what is important. This is the type of amazing service that will keep us coming back. We were actually happy with the mistake as we were able to try another dish we likely wouldn't have ordered (but ended up being our favorite thing to eat). The ambiance was fun, parking was easy, the wait was reasonable, the service was FANTASTIC, the food was delicious and food/drinks were made with quality ingredients. We'll be back!

I've got a mixed review of Vidorra. At the end of the day, I don't think I'll be going back but…read morethat doesn't mean it was all bad. First, the good. Well, the good was definitely the chips and salsa. The chips were lightly dusted with some seasoning. I didn't take the time to figure out what it was, but it gave them a nice kick. So subtle but so significant. Unfortunately, my experience kind of dipped from there. Service was slow and a bit inattentive. I got the Molcajete parrillada en fuego. The literal translation is mortar grilled over fire. I should have asked what that meant because most Molcajete dishes are heated over fire. What it means at Vidorra is cook the meat, drop a hot coal in the mortar and put the cooked meat with a little mole on a grill screen over the mortar. It's basically a fajita dish served on top of the mortar bowl. However, it doesn't stay warm. Needless to say, I was disappointed. That said, the verde Molcajete that someone else got looked as expected. No one else (there were six of us) raved about their food. So, I'm in no rush to head back.
