My husband and I went last night to get a few cupcakes. I was so excited for the lemon, although was really disappointed when the frosting or cake didn't have any lemon flavor. There was a TINY bit of lemon filling at the top under the icing. Vanilla is not my favorite so this ended up being a big disappointment. We were also very disappointed when the chocolate cream (white swirls on top) didn't have any filling at all! I was under the impression that one should have filling on the inside. That is why we chose it. Loved the location and the girls inside were super nice but over disappointed in what we got for what we paid. read more

Visited this location last night for the first time and wasn't impressed. I frequently visited the Frisco location years ago but we we moved further away. I was excited to try this location out last night for my teens birthday. I took her and a few friends in. They all ordered ice cream. For $4.75, the scoops are tiny. Ice cream was subpar. The kids all said we would have been better off just getting a gallon of blue bell or going to Braums. One of them ordered chocolate and the employee had to scrape the bottom of the container to get him an even smaller than normal scoop. She handed it to him and said, "Sorry, it's all we have left." She didn't offer to add some of another flavor and she charged me full price for it. So why did the teens ALL choose ice cream? Because there were only two kinds of cupcakes sitting in the display case when we got there. That's it. They told us they could make more in the back, but most people want to see their options and not have to ask a million questions to know what they are getting because the cupcake flavor names don't have details on them. (Perhaps it was the time we went being right after dinner on a weekend night, but an effort should be made by staff to have at least one of each type in the display case for viewing). I reluctantly ordered two cupcakes to take home with me for myself and my son who wasn't with us. I ordered a caramel crunch since there was one sitting there and a wedding cake which they made in the back. The caramel crunch was disappointing. The cupcake itself was chocolate and while moist, it fell apart into a million pieces. I figured with crunch and caramel in the name maybe there was something inside but it was just a chocolate cupcake with caramel icing and a very soggy not crunchy single pretzel on top. Wedding cake was good but nothing special. I didn't see any sign of the cookie sandwiches at this location that the other location sells. These were always a favorite of ours. And the whoopee pies too. We will not be back. Other cupcake, cookie and ice cream places nearby are superior and at a lower price point. Pretty bummed. I'll have to try the Frisco location again next time I'm in that area and hope to get the same quality and experience the Small Cakes brand use to make me think of. read more

Everything was good about this place until the baker in the back came to the front, wearing the gloves she was baking cupcakes with , handled my cash , gave me change then went back to the cupcakes with the same dirty gloves . I love their cupcakes, but the customer service leaves something to be desired. We came into store shortly before close and were there with several other people. I observed an employee shove a cupcake at a customer who started she had a free cupcake and at this time the employee seemed annoyed to help her. This customer has been told that they could make a cupcake quick in the back and just add icing. However that option wasn't available to the two other parties there. I understand that businesses have closing hours, but be helpful to the customers who enter the business before than. I personally was reminded that they technically closed 3 minutes prior, and that seemed to warrant the treatment we all received. read more

I was craving something sweet so my husband and I stopped here and ordered a wedding cake, red velvet, pink, and strawberry cupcake. I picked up the pink cupcake and was immediately disappointed. I like to peel the wrapping from one side and part of the cupcake crumbled away because it was so soggy at the bottom. I opened up the strawberry cupcake and same issue. I don't know whether the cupcakes sat there too long in their store or were undercooked but I was so disappointed. This store could do better. I've been to other small cakes and I've never experienced this poor quality. read more

The cupcakes was amazing. Based on the flavor I would give 5 stars. I had to knock some stars though due to our experience. My daughter and I dined in. We asked for a fork. Was told they are out of forks. We were given a spoon. The spoon seemed awkward to eat the cupcake with. The muffin was so delicious so I decided to get some to take home. When I asked for a bag I was told they don't have bags. Once again awkward, I was afraid the boxes were going to tip over in my car. If I eat here again I'll be sure to not take any home. The cupcakes are yummy however the trays are mostly empty when you walk in. You have to ask for flavors to see if they have them and then wait for them to decorate them. Please don't ask for a dozen unless you have time to wait. Shoot, you have to wait on 6 too. And then when they are finished you wait longer while the people in line are being served. It seems as though it would be easier to have a few made of each offered so customers can pay and go. It has been like this each time I've gone (4 visits) so last week was not a one-off. And I did wait to review hoping it would get better since they have not been open long. Let's hope it improves as they figure out volume. read more

The cupcakes are delicious and so is the ice cream! Cupcakes are made fresh daily and the ice cream is made in house. I have ordered individual full size cupcakes for teachers and a dozen mini cupcakes so they could sample more flavors. They couldn't have been more perfect! I know Smallcakes is a franchise and the cupcakes taste the same but the customer service at the Prosper location is top notch! So thankful to have them! read more

I Was really surprised and excited when I found out there was going to be a new Smallcakes so close to my home. I love Smallcakes and think they have some of the most delicious cupcakes I've ever eaten! I love the lemon, strawberry and chocolate, simply delicious! However I was not as impressed with this new location as I am with the Smallcakes off Hwy 121 and Custer Road Frisco. I now realize that these are a franchise and independently owned. My hope that by posting this the owner of the Smallcakes in Prosper with find out what they do at the other location and bring her stuff up to their standards. This new location does not do their lemon cupcakes the same as the other location and the Custer rd has better cupcakes. Also when I came in to the Prosper location, a few days after they first opened, they had no strawberry cupcakes, chocolate is chocolate and it's delicious but I like more options. I would love to see one of these locations to do a white chocolate cupcake ( please not with raspberry). Otherwise I think the cupcakes are good, just not as good as the other location! read more
