I stopped by here today to buy a few cupcakes for my husband (special celebration for him). He has been to the Dallas location before and had mentioned the cupcakes are "huge" and "no way one person can finish one alone!" Well...sadly I think things have changed since he last had one of their cupcakes. I wouldn't call them "Texas sized" as their website mentions. I give them a 7/10 on presentation and a 5/10 on taste. I don't think they are good enough to cost $6 a cupcake so we probably won't be back, but was worth a shot. read more

Ok. My two littles wanted cupcakes, so we stopped here. I ordered 4 cupcakes before I knew the cost SMDH. Here's my review. 1. The cupcakes are way too small for $6 bucks a piece. You have got to be kidding me on this one. Have we become so desperate in life that we just purchase expensive cupcakes continously no matter what??? Heck no, not again. 2. Lack major taste and VERY DRY. People please know these were dry and grainy on the icing seriously. Very disappointed after I spent $6 bucks a piece on these. It's not like I was going to drive 40 mins back up there from home to try and return them. 3. Over priced as I mentioned before. If you're going to charge this price, atleast increase the size a bit. I know cost has gone up on products but that's not your consumers fault. Fix the lack in quality and quantity please. The company I believe this use to be or this place is trying to be like was Dimples Cupcake back in the day and the size was different, and the taste was like a kiss from an angel. We first had these cupcakes when they had a small stall at Stonebriar Mall and they were delicious. Happy to see them open up a walk in location. They don't have any crazy offerings or flavors, but what they do have are solid. Their cupcakes are $6 a piece, which is obviously pricey, but we've never had a bad cupcake from them. They're all moist and it's not overloaded with frosting on top like most places. Best of all, their machine doesn't ask for a damn tip like every other place on the planet. We Love fluellen and knew them as dimples in Dallas years ago. We usually visit the downtown Dallas location but we're please to learn there was a location in Frisco. We found the cupcakes considerably smaller and a little off. The wedding cake is my favorite but it was lacking in flavor. Soft and delicious but the flavor was different. This place originally was named Dimples, used to be in downtown Frisco. They sold delicious huge cupcakes. The new place was a huge letdown in my opinion. 1. $6 for one cupcake? If it was the size they used to be maaaybe okay but there were close to a regular sized cupcake. (1 star) 2. Super dry, the icing came off in one slab when I cut it in half while trying to remove the cupcake from the box. What the heck? It just fell off and I had to scoop it up and put it back on the cake part. (2 stars) 3. Honestly it was like they served me day old cupcakes. I went by at 7pm on a Thursday. I can't believe I paid $18 for 3 of these all disappointing. Of note, the service was excellent and the girl in there was super friendly and kind. Brought my girls to this posh, chic, elegant cupcake place. They are open late so come get a cupcake after date night. We tried the Banana Pudding, Black Velvet, Strawberry Shortcake, and Wedding Cake. Banana Pudding was hands down the best pick out of the four. Black Velvet was a close second because it was luscious with a nice balance of delicacy. Strawberry Shortcake was dense but that's probably due to fresh strawberries used in the batter. We stopped by for their soft opening yesterday evening! I have a love for cupcakes and am excited their now in the area. As we walked in, we were greeted by the two workers in there. Inside the store, there isn't any furniture/fixtures yet since they're just doing a soft opening. They have several different flavor opens to choose from, which is good. I must admit I absolutely love cupcakes. I noticed his cupcake place while visiting Jon Smith's Subs which is directly next door. I am always excited to try out a new cupcake place and was delighted to see one so close to my home! When I first walked in, I noticed there wasn't a freshly baked cupcake smell like one would smell in a place that freshly baked cakes and cupcakes. The interior was clean and there were quite a few tables to sit and enjoy the cupcakes. The display case was full of the various flavors of cupcakes and there were quite a few flavors to choose from which was nice. The clerk wasn't the most welcoming as I felt like she had other things to do and needed to get to them because she was the only person working and that taking my order was just another thing impeding her from finishing her other task. She didn't ask if it was my first time there or offer any other information that would have been helpful for a place that is trying to sell $6 cupcakes! I did inquire about a cupcake place that was called Fluellen that was in Frisco square years ago in which she confirmed they are the same company. She told me that location closed and that there is another location in Dallas where all of their baking is done. That explained the lack of freshly baked goods at this location. I decided to try out one cupcake to be sure that I liked it before I went in hook, line and sinker. I ordered the wedding cake flavor. The clerk went into the back area and pulled one out of a plastic bin that held the cupcakes. Once I got home I noticed that some of the frosting was stuck to the side of the box which was not cool, so much for presentation. I will add that these cupcakes are a tad larger than some of the other places in the area, but in my opinion it didn't taste like it should cost $6. The frosting was too sweet and the cupcake was a bit dry. I must admit that I will stick to The London Baker, Sugar Rays in Plano or Society Bakery in Dallas for my cupcake fix since their prices or reasonable and the cupcakes are delicious. This is my hidden gem for a sweet treat! Let's start with the customer service then I'll move to the cupcakes. I was greeted promptly with a big smile from Ava and she answered so many questions because I was unsure of what I wanted. She explained each cupcake from the density of the cake part to the flavor. I went in not knowing what I wanted and left knowing I needed to try them all LOL! The store was brightly lit, every surface was clean and shiny, the floors and tables were just as clean.
