Giving them five stars because I have been a customer in Atlanta with Camicakes since 2013. I arrived to their McKinney location today 7/11/26 to find that the store has been closed down. It doesn't show it online but yes folks. I will save you the drive. The store is closed down. I live in Lewisville but whenever I'm remotely close to McKinney I try to stop over and grab a cupcake. I'm so sad. I know this economy has been hard for small businesses but I hope the close of the brick and mortar location isn't the permanent disappearance of Camicakes in the DFW metro area. The cupcakes are absolutely amazing. I ordered my husband's birthday cake here which was outstanding. I ordered my daughters and the decoration wasn't done properly and I still have received a response from the manager. It was supposed to look like a martini glass was spilled down the side of a cake that had shades of dark purple to light but instead it was pink and purple and looked like a ying & yang sign. I debated between either four or five stars. We went in this evening after seeing so many favorable reviews. It did not disappoint. Walking in I was overwhelmed with so many flavor options. They were all perfectly made with great presentation. We got a box of six and rate them in order the following order: 1. Cinnamon swirl 10 out of 10 2. Strawberry 9.5 out of 10 3. Peach cobbler 5.5 out of 10 4. Cookie Dough 4 out of 10 5. Birthday Sprinkles 2 out of 10 The cake itself is lovely but it is the same cake throughout all of the cupcakes. If it were more customized with each flavor I would easily round up to a FIVE star rating. read more

Stopped by for the first time and I will definitely be back. Located in north west McKinney, this little cupcake shop wowed me with their variety of cupcakes! There is definitely something for anyone's liking. I decided to try the Pineapple and coconut cupcake and all though it was dense, frosting was a little sweet, but overall a great treat. OMG, the cupcakes were the closest thing to heaven. The selection, the freshness, the customer service, the taste, I can go on and on. There was a point where I was stopping at CamiCakes every day to get at least one. I definitely would recommend especially on the days where your sweet tooth is begging for something. It's not too sweet and although it's not moist, it is dense and delicious. And don't get me started on the selection... I had never heard of Cami Cakes until I received a birthday delivery sent from a friend in Houston. The second I opened the box I knew I was in for a sinful dessert. I purchased 2 different types of cupcakes, and they tasted exactly the same. The literal glob of icing on top of them had the texture of crisco. Five star across the board. The shop is Black owned which is a plus to me! The workers were very informative and friendly! The variations of cupcakes were very wide and lase but not least the cup cakes were absolutely delicious. The frosting is definitely sweet but delicious.
