We purchased a brand new ASKO Dishwasher for $1600 in November of 2024 that needed to be installed with a cabinet face. Within 11 months (late August) the dishwasher started to fall forward out of the counter. Upon inspection by me one of the plastic pins that holds the dishwasher in place was missing and I found it broken on the floor. We didn't even use the dishwasher from June-August as we live out of state in the summer. I called Slyman and after (3) months of horrible lack of communication with Brittany was told it would be $150 upfront for them to come out and repair the installation. They only covered the install for 30 days. DO NOT USE SLYMAN if you value good service and your hard earned money. read more

Two weeks ago I discovered that my 13 year old dryer had bit the dust. So I set out to look for a B flat simple dryer. I was born and raised in St. Louis and am quite familiar with the Slyman Brothers, so I decided to try them again as I purchased a washer from them about 7 years ago. I walked in and was greeted by Sam, I told him what I was looking for and he delivered . A simple but solid dryer that did not require a college degree to operate or require an arm and a leg to buy! Bought a dishwasher bc mine broke and began leaking. Slyman had the best price + install and haul away. I was hesitant about appliance shopping as big box retailers often use under-skilled 3rd party labor for install. Though Slyman bros does use a 3rd party delivery and install team, The tech (John) seemed experienced. He removed and installed w/o any issues. Overall, a very solid experience. read more

I can not recommend Slymann bros as company that will stand behind their products. They are quick to sell you on their hometown legacy but when things go wrong they are only willing to lean on the manufacturer's warranty. We bought a Cafe dishwasher this summer for kitchen reno. The installer said it was defective and initiated a service ticket. Fast forward 3 service tickets later and the thing still leaks and has damaged our new cabinets. Brittany and Kelly in "customer experience" can only reach out to GE and ask for help, they are powerless to fix the problem and get this junk out of my house, for a refund. I could have gone with a big box store for cheaper for this awful customer service. Don't be fooled by their local is better sales pitch, it isn't. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. As a repeat customer, I called Slyman again this time needing a new washer and dryer. They had to be special ordered to fit in my space. When they were delivered, the men dropped my washing machine and ruined my wood floor. More importantly, the (brand new) dryer did not work! My salesman refused to return my calls, texts, and emails. I called the owner who passed it off to customer service. They refuse to replace the dryer or give me a refund. They insisted on fixing it. After several calls and emails, and waiting and waiting, someone finally came out and now parts need to be ordered. More waiting. They originally offered to refund me for the warranties on both units, but are now saying no! They'll only refund it for the dryer. The guy they sent to fix my floor completely ghosted me. The second floor guy completely ghosted me. I'm going on almost 4 weeks with no washer and no dryer and a ruined floor. There is much more; I could go on and on. The salesman has still not responded with an apology or anything. This company does not care about its customers. Only the money. read more

Bought appliances. Upgraded refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. The delivery was supposed to be Friday the 14th, it wasn't and after several hone calls, finally delivered Monday, the delivery guys were very careful. I asked about the handles to the refrigerator. The delivery guy said this was just a delivery and not an install. I get it's not an install. But not even put my handles on my refrigerator. After paying over $9000 , no wonder people go to Home Depot and Lowe's. They at least deliver with the handles on. Last time I'll ever buy from them. read more

We bought our first set of Speed Queens here and after dealing with ongoing issues (for over a year, and a few trips from a service person) with the dryer not working properly (like getting clothes dry on an automatic setting) our sales person finally deemed that our dryer was obviously a lemon and they replaced it with a brand new dryer that came with a brand new warranty! My wife and I were looking for appliances around Labor Day. We had gone to all of the big box stores but stopped in at Slyman Bros upon the recommendation of my in-laws. The building is smaller and has less inventory on the floor than you will see at Lowe's or Home Depot. However they stock basically every model you can think of at another store or in the warehouse. The model we wanted wasn't on the floor, but they looked it up in their system. The price was better than any we had seen and had free delivery. The owner was in the story as just a really nice guy. They will match or beat any price you see elsewhere. Give them a chance and think about shopping at a local franchise rather than a big box store. read more

Our dishwasher recently bit the dust and we were scrambling to find a replacement...in steps Bobby Slyman! Bobby took care of us from the beginning of the process all the way through delivery and install. He showed us options that he thought would be a good fit based on our needs and budget and helped us to pick out a great replacement! In addition to Bobby, the installers were great. They were communicative regarding arrival time; they removed the old dishwasher, installed the new one and made sure we were all squared away with the operations/instructions. Is it possible to give a rating less than 1? In April 2022 I ordered a new electric range from Slyman. However, the next day we discovered it was not compatible with our kitchen. We cancelled that order. Two days later we ordered a much more expensive electric range from Slyman. The next week the Slyman installer did a pre-inspection of our kitchen and said that our kitchen would need $2000 of modifications to accommodate the new electric range. We cancelled the order for the second, more expensive range both verbally and in writing. Slyman said it would be no problem to remove both charges from our credit card. Fast forward to mid May 2022 and both charges are still on our credit card in the amount of $4000+. I am notifying the credit card company and will also notify both the Better Business Bureau and the Missouri Attorney General of Slyman's treatment of us. read more

Bought a new fridge months ago. They delivered a damaged fridge and did not tell me until they had removed my existing fridge and installed the new one in my second floor condo. They promised they could get a new door to replace the dented up one and I felt bad for the delivery guys and went for it. Total scam. They tell me it's a manufacturer problem covered by the warranty. How the manufacturer is responsible for them denting the door code s hard to figure. Paid for a new fridge and got one that looks like trash. I went with Sylman trying to support a local business. Don't make my mistake. Just another hustle. read more

Maxx at the South County store had us in and out in less than a half hour to select a chest freezer, contact the warehouse to make sure it was in stock and that we were getting the lowest possible price, and arrange for us to pick it up from their warehouse (in Fenton) the very next afternoon. After a terrible experience with Home Depot, I wanted to purchase from a local company and I'm so happy we found Slyman Brothers. It was a totally simple, painless process from start to finish. We just walked into the Ballwin location on a Saturday (didn't make an appointment) and we were helped right away. Ian Moorland helped us throughout the whole process. We knew which fridge we wanted and he showed the model to us. We weren't decided on a dishwasher though and he showed us various options and was totally honest and upfront about which features he thought were worth upgrading to and which weren't worth the cost. It never felt like he was trying to upsell us. We couldn't decide on the style of range and Ian was helpful and patient, looking at pictures of our kitchen arrangement, measurements, etc and I'm very happy with what we picked. The fridge and dishwasher were in stock and were delivered promptly and installed well. (Home Depot insisted the fridge couldn't be installed... Slyman bros had it installed and the old one in the basement in 20 minutes!) The range had to be ordered and it was about an 8 week wait, but they were upfront about that and it was worth the wait. To top it all off, they were running a great Black Friday sale and we got our appliances for less than what they would have cost at the big box stores. My brand new Amana washer broke down while washing only the fourth load of regular clothes. I called Slyman Bros and spoke with Mike who said I would hear from Amana within 24 hours to set up apptmt to either fix or replace the machine; however, I do not want a "repaired" machine after just paying full price for a NEW machine. After more than 24 hours passed with no word from Amana, I called back to the store and spoke with Jake who said he would have Mike or my salesperson, Bobby Slyman get back with me. After two more hours passed, I called again and was told by Angelina that Mike had left for the day so she would have Bobby call me when he finished with his customer. Another 24 hours have passed and I have still not heard from Amana or Slyman Bros. I will never do business with either company again, as they don't just have horrible customer service, they have NO customer service. read more

My parents & I came here looking for a over the range microwave & bought one that is comparable to the one that we had at home. Anyways, they installed the microwave on a Saturday (big plus). I saw a slight defect in the door after the installation. The appliance installer took a picture of the defect & told someone at Slyman Bros. I've recently purchased a range and dishwasher from Trent at this location. What a great experience! I've purchased appliances from big box stores in the past but in the recommendation of my DIL I have Slyman's a look. Trent responded to my initial email promptly and courteously with all the info I had asked for. When I went in the store he immediately remembered my email and helped me make my choice. He is knowledgeable about all the products. When I needed a new dishwasher I went back to Trent and received great service again.
