    I give the actual Slyman's store and sales rep 5 stars but the two delivery and set ups only 3 stars. This is why I am giving 4 Stars. Needed a new basement fridge. We would much rather shop local than the big box stores. The salesman, Mike, was wonderful. He listened to what I needed and showed me my two options that they had in stock in the warehouse. He gave me a printout of both so I could bring them home so my husband could review. I returned to the store within an hour and purchased it and set up a delivery day. Was so happy that they were going to be able to deliver in two days. That was amazing! The icemaker would be on back order for possibly three weeks. I received several emails thanking me for my purchase and info regarding the delivery. On the day of the delivery they had an email where you could track the truck so you know how close they are to you. I received a phone call 15 more minutes prior letting me know that they were on their way. To get through the basement door they had to remove the doors of the refrigerator as well as the doors to our basement and storage room. The guys were able to get that done quickly. Once the refrigerator was in its place, the delivery guys picked up the refrigerator door to put it back on. At that point my husband asked if we could have it open on the other side like the one that they had just removed out of our house. The guy said that he would have to charge us an additional $30. I honestly thought he was joking and I laughed. He said, or I can just leave them off and you can put them on after I leave. That seemed crazy to me. It was already off the new fridge. Why could he not have just put it on the way that we want it? Why would it have to be an additional $30 from the $60 that we already paid for delivery and set up. That should be part of the set up. I told him just to put it on the way he had to as I wasn't paying the other $30. A couple of other crazy things happened during the delivery but I understand that stuff happens so that's not even worth going into on here and did not affect my rating on the review. I did confirm with Slyman that it is their policy was to charge an additional $30 to have the door installed on the other side. We spent well over $1000 for this refrigerator and paid for delivery and set up. That should be included in the set up. I truly feel like Slyman needs to reevaluate this policy. While the refrigerator is being delivered, the guy told us while he was setting it up that but he just got notice that the icemaker was in and he would be by tomorrow to set it up. I told him that was great and asked if it would be morning or afternoon. He said that we would be hearing from them. At 12:30 that afternoon I had not received any emails or phone calls so I called the sales office. Mike was busy with a customer so the other sales rep looked it up and took the information and said Mike would call us. Later that afternoon, Mike did call me back and said he wasn't sure why the delivery guy told us that the icemaker would be installed the next day as it wasn't even on the books to be done. It was a little frustrating because I waited at home all day for them to come. Regardless we set it up to be installed the following Thursday. They came and installed the icemaker on the new schedule day. Everything seem to be going well and delivery man which were different from before, were very courteous. As they were leaving they had the box that the icemaker came in to take it with them for disposal. I asked them if there were manuals or anything in that box that I would need. He proceeded to pull out the manual. I saw about a 3 foot coil of copper tubing in the box and I asked about that. A couple of years ago we pay quite a lot of money to our heating/cooling people to have copper tubing run from the connection and across the room and all the way down into our refrigerator for our icemaker. They advise us to do it like this and said that it would last better than the plastic tubing as they could crack and caused water damage in the basement. The delivery guy said that they weren't allowed to connect to copper tubing so they cut the 3 foot piece off and spliced their plastic one on there (now that is just one more area that could potentially cause problems with leakage in the future). Needless to say, I was very frustrated that they did that. I was in the room next to them. They could've asked me first before cutting a 3 foot section of our copper tubing. Why in the world would we want cheap plastic tubing when we had expensive copper tubing. If they would have just asked me, I would've told them to leave that part and my husband could finish connecting the copper tubing to the new refrigerator.

When they finally delivered they didn't come at their scheduled day, said they were running too behind and it would be the next day, when we went to check on our renovations they had in fact come into our house (no one home) and left the appliances sitting in our unfinished addition that also has stairs leading down to it (making it impossible for us to move the appliances). The refrigerator door had warped screws and doors fell off, ice machine broke first week, the bottom of the fridge foot was broken and ruined all our brand new wood floors. We wrote a lot off but our contractor told us we needed new doors (mind you the fridge can't be opened without proper panels and hardware of which we cannot install until we have doors and screws that actually work),we have been waiting months for new doors to arrive. They have been unhelpful, unbothered, haven't done anything, after 2.5 months they told us to call the manufacturer and that we would have to put the doors on (costing more money to hire people)... I have gone in the store several times and each time they have gotten more indignant and I'm frustrated, it's the worst customer service experience and wish I would have spent the $17k+ elsewhere.

I asked a store associate if I could look at the laptops in that area, and he told me to go ahead. A moment later, another associate approached me and said I was not allowed to be there. I explained that I had already asked for permission, there was no active construction work happening, and there were no apparent safety risks or dangers in the area. He still insisted I leave. What stood out most was that there was no attempt to help me find a laptop, answer questions, or offer alternatives -- just an abrupt and dismissive interaction focused on getting me out of the area. I told him I'd gladly purchase a laptop somewhere else where customers are either allowed to view inventory or are actually helped. His response was, "Yeah, go ahead and do that." He then followed me out of the store and watched me get into my car and leave. Completely unprofessional experience. The staff acted like helping customers was an inconvenience. Don't waste your time.
