Great prices. Used washer and dryers work great. Very nice people to work with. Saves folks money when new is so expensive.

We had a long wait time because apparently the fridge had to be custom ordered, fine. Spent a decent chunk of money on the 2. When they finally delivered they didn't come at their scheduled day, said they were running too behind and it would be the next day, when we went to check on our renovations they had in fact come into our house (no one home) and left the appliances sitting in our unfinished addition that also has stairs leading down to it (making it impossible for us to move the appliances). The refrigerator door had warped screws and doors fell off, ice machine broke first week, the bottom of the fridge foot was broken and ruined all our brand new wood floors. We wrote a lot off but our contractor told us we needed new doors (mind you the fridge can't be opened without proper panels and hardware of which we cannot install until we have doors and screws that actually work),we have been waiting months for new doors to arrive. They have been unhelpful, unbothered, haven't done anything, after 2.5 months they told us to call the manufacturer and that we would have to put the doors on (costing more money to hire people)... I have gone in the store several times and each time they have gotten more indignant and I'm frustrated, it's the worst customer service experience and wish I would have spent the $17k+ elsewhere.

Within 11 months (late August) the dishwasher started to fall forward out of the counter. Upon inspection by me one of the plastic pins that holds the dishwasher in place was missing and I found it broken on the floor. We didn't even use the dishwasher from June-August as we live out of state in the summer. I called Slyman and after (3) months of horrible lack of communication with Brittany was told it would be $150 upfront for them to come out and repair the installation. They only covered the install for 30 days. DO NOT USE SLYMAN if you value good service and your hard earned money.

I was born and raised in St. Louis and am quite familiar with the Slyman Brothers, so I decided to try them again as I purchased a washer from them about 7 years ago. I walked in and was greeted by Sam, I told him what I was looking for and he delivered . A simple but solid dryer that did not require a college degree to operate or require an arm and a leg to buy! The cost to deliver, install and take away the old machine was well below what I was looking to spend . For grins and giggles I went to a national store and got the run around. No thanks! Thanks Slyman Brothers

Seriously disappointed. My husband shopped around for a few weeks in order to purchase a new oven…read morefor my Christmas present. He eventually settled on a nice (albeit expensive) model from the Maytag store. When it arrived, it had a large scratch on the front. When we called to report this, they said they would have someone out to fix it. During the next 6 weeks of waiting for said part, I made several more calls to complain about the uneven and unpredictable heating of the double oven. I was assured it would be taken care of during my service call. Maytag service finally came out, with the wrong part. The service tech had no knowledge of the heating issue, and wouldn't try to fix it. Fast forward 12 weeks later. Correct part finally comes in, and is installed. The oven still doesn't cook properly. I should have stopped dealing with them then. However, we are remodeling the kitchen, and needed a new fridge. We go back to the Maytag store, find what I want, and get a great deal. I went home, searched the model number to read reviews, and I discover it is not the model I picked out on the showroom floor. This is a day prior to delivery. I call, and the answer I receive is "Oh, sorry about that. I can get you the one you wanted for an additional $300." Seriously? I have had no luck with contacting the corporate office. Needless to say, we cancelled our order. We will not be back to the Maytag store or buy another Maytag product.

I'm an older person (70 years old). I'm not a crotchety old man nor a shit-disturber. This is the…read morefirst complaint I have ever submitted to any business in my life. I had previously gotten my Maytag supplies (mainly water filters for my refrigerator) at the Maytag outlet on Clayton Road. It was convenient to my home and the service people were polite, helpful, and attentive. When they closed, I was told there was a Maytag outlet on South Lindbergh. Not very convenient, but I really didn't have much choice as the filters have been difficult for me to find. The filters are almost $50 dollars each, but only need changing every 6 months (that's the good news). When I first went to the Lindbergh Maytag outlet, I received the same friendly and helpful service I'd received at the Clayton store. There were two very nice guys, I'd guess they were in their 50's, short like me, and very careful in making sure I got the product/filter I needed and offered their cards should I encounter any problems. I had forgotten to bring my credit card and had little cash on me, so I asked if I could write a check. They said that would be fine. I was so impressed with their kindness and help, I bought 2 filters (around $100). When I went to the outlet today, it was 26 degrees, with an 8-degree wind-chill factor. It took me almost half an hour to get there, as it is quite a ways from my home, and South Lindbergh traffic was not good. When I entered, I didn't see either of the guys who had been so helpful on my previous visit. The guy on duty was like 6-feet tall, 60-ish, with glasses and a good head of silver hair. I was still trying to recover from the brutal cold outside, as he located the filter I needed (I had brought the old one, just to make certain I got the correct one). I didn't want a 'senior moment' to require me to make that trek again anytime soon. Without thinking, I pulled out my checkbook and my pen. "Sorry, we don't take checks!" he kind of barked. He had no way of knowing that I don't carry my single credit card on me, as I have been mugged twice. Not his fault. I had just gone to the bank and had exactly $100 with me (money for food and medicine for the rest of the month). I'm on a fixed income --- again, not his fault. I explained that the other times I had come to the store, other clerks/salespersons had not indicated at a check payment was a problem. "Nope. No checks." His heels were dug in and major attitude was threatening and dismissive. I explained the situation with living quite a distance away and that I intended to buy two filters (as I had before), but that the $96 dollars I had with me would be down to $4. I also mentioned the difficulty I had had in driving so far in pretty ugly weather to come down there for the product. "No checks". I felt trapped, as I didn't know of any other Maytag outlet in St. Louis. And this guy had the warmth of a walk-on role in the movie "Deliverance". He rang up the sale and seemed to be having trouble with the register. "That's all I have. I don't have anymore," I dared. Glare...more attitude. When I was bold enough to ask for a bag (which I had received with all my other purchases at this outlet), his response was "We don't have bags". My mental response was, "Probably because if YOU'RE the one at the counter when customers come in, there wouldn't be much NEED for any bags". I have since found out that there is supposed to be a Maytag outlet in Hazelwood. For my next Maytag need, I plan on trying there. I can't imagine any more surly or rude salesperson than the one who DIDN'T help me at all. Don't know his name (no tag and didn't identify himself). My kindest guess would be "Gomer". The other names that come to mind would require censorship. Avoid this store...or if you happen to drop by, and there's a 6-footer with glasses and a shock of silver hair, turn yourself around and 'Google' 'Maytag, Hazelwood, Mo.'. God help you ------ because Gomer certainly WON'T.
