Do not waste your time dealing with these slimey sales people (scooter) or their managers who are just as disdainfully awful. We bought a Zline panel ready fridge and iLVE 36" range. We had a long wait time because apparently the fridge had to be custom ordered, fine. Spent a decent chunk of money on the 2. When they finally delivered they didn't come at their scheduled day, said they were running too behind and it would be the next day, when we went to check on our renovations they had in fact come into our house (no one home) and left the appliances sitting in our unfinished addition that also has stairs leading down to it (making it impossible for us to move the appliances). The refrigerator door had warped screws and doors fell off, ice machine broke first week, the bottom of the fridge foot was broken and ruined all our brand new wood floors. We wrote a lot off but our contractor told us we needed new doors (mind you the fridge can't be opened without proper panels and hardware of which we cannot install until we have doors and screws that actually work),we have been waiting months for new doors to arrive. They have been unhelpful, unbothered, haven't done anything, after 2.5 months they told us to call the manufacturer and that we would have to put the doors on (costing more money to hire people)... I have gone in the store several times and each time they have gotten more indignant and I'm frustrated, it's the worst customer service experience and wish I would have spent the $17k+ elsewhere. read more

Appliance Discounters was my 3rd stop in the quest for a new refrigerator. I ended up here simply because I had already been to the Home Depot and the Lowe's right near here and didn't have any luck. I put appliances into google on the iPhone and this was the next closest place so I figured I'd give it a shot. As Bob Dylan says "When you ain't got nothin', you got nothin' to lose." I have a second home 1.5 hours west of St. Louis. About 2 months ago my refrigerator died and I have been dragging my feet replacing it. The spot is 31 inches wide which means the only thing that works is a basic 18 or 20 cubic foot with the freezer on the top. A side by side is too large. Each store has about 2 different models of these and I wanted stainless steel to match my existing appliances. Since no one is delivering to me out in the middle of nowhere I knew I had to get it picked up and brought out there myself. I arrived on 2/12 at maybe 5:30pm. I was trying to get all of this done on Wednesday 2/14. They had only one model on their floor that would work for me. Jim the salesman started to check to see if they could get it for me in 48 hours. Between him and the other salesman they decided as long as I was picking it up myself directly at their warehouse yes, they could get it for me. Also they had the same one available that was the same width but taller. Yes! I want the bigger one! Sold! I think I was in the store for 15 minutes or less and was on my way. I am now less likely to shop at a small business shop based solely off of how poor this place is at everything - customer service, delivery, install, etc. We waited four months to receive a overhead exhaust filter for no known reason and it only showed up when I asked for them to come uninstall it entirely. On the phone, the owner threw the installer under the bus saying he was sick the whole time then got mad on the phone when I explained why that's an ignorant excuse. On final install, the newly healthy installer knocked one of the lightbulbs out of the exhaust and said he would mail over new ones, which of course didn't happen. I found a gas dryer on their website, called and Keith Durling answered the phone and walked me through all my questions and made payment & delivery schedule a breeze. He emailed me the receipt within an hour as well as a requested photo of the actual dryer (as I was buying sight unseen). Delivery was scheduled within 2 days (amazing during COVID) and Matt & Roy from Adept Installation LLC delivered the dryer and were awesome problem solvers, courteous and pleasant. Upon delivery, Matt reported to me we needed a gas line shut off installed for safety for a small additional fee. No problem! I had a great experience with delivery and purchasing, but since then it has been a NIGHTMARE. My doors to my fridge were scratched on delivery and the bottom of my oven (that opens for pans). They said they would be replaced and I said that is fine. It is ONE YEAR later and I have only one door replaced to my fridge. They came to replace them all and 2 out of 3 were scratched as well. WHY DIDNT THEY CHECK BEFORE COMING?!?! So now coming on to a year, still nothing. They never call you, you always have to call them. Have called about 4x and just told they are "waiting" on parts. SICK OF IT!!! Don't use them if you don't have too! Update: change my rating to a 1. Now my refrigerator has broken and it has yet to be 2 years with my appliances. Called and said it is not under warranty of any kind. I will never buy a piece of crap from them ever again! I highly recommend Home Depot or Lowe's. If you have a problem they will make it right. I bought a washer/dryer from Appliance Discounters which was installed on the second floor. Water leaked and ruined the ceiling. Appliance Discounters blamed the manufacturer, and when a repairman came out, he discovered the water connection was installed incorrectly causing a constant leak. I asked Appliance Discounters---actually SLYMAN'S, for their insurance company. They refused with poor language and hung up. The stores are all owned by the same people...shop elsewhere! read more

Buyer Beware! Potentially dangerous appliances being sold to consumers! I picked out a scratch and dent GE range at the S. St. Louis location after looking it over in person at length. There was a small dent on the edge of the control panel and some dents on the storage drawer. The salesperson said they were ordering a brand new replacement drawer. I also have texts from the salesperson confirming that the damage was cosmetic and minor. The salesperson demanded cash before delivery. The delivery guys show up at my house a few days later and tell me that they can't install the stove because it is so damaged that it would be dangerous. The gas inlet was bashed in, the oven door wouldn't even close, the side panels were hanging by a screw and the stove couldn't even be leveled because it was so trashed. Obviously something had happened to the stove I bought before it got loaded on the truck. I refused delivery and started texting the salesperson immediately explaining the situation and asking for a refund. I got multiple stories about why I couldn't get my money back including that they didn't have the cash! It took four days of near constant texting, calling the other stores to try to get to the owner, and two cancelled appointments to get a refund. Don't make the same mistake I made! It could easily have been a very dangerous situation. read more

He took payment over the phone and scheduled installation and delivery--free--for the next morning. Installers called that night to work out a time and were very flexible, arriving early around my schedule. They were extremely nice and did an excellent job. They were fast but thorough and showed me how to use the machine. I felt totally comfortable leaving them at the house while I took my kids to school. There were at least 3 associates in the back of the store sitting at desks talking amongst themselves. One associate was helping other customers by the kitchen area. We were attempting to buy a Counter Depth refrigerator. After browsing the appliances which were mostly Samsung, no one ever greeted or spoke to us. We could not tell if they were counter-depth. We left the store. Disheartened after driving 30 minutes to get to the store. Will never go back--no customer service. Drove to Home Depot and bought a counter depth refrigerator. read more

Ordered a range and fridge from this place in Feb. My "scratch and dent" range wouldn't even stand up straight and had exposed oven insulation. Does this really look safe to send out to customers? Exchanged the range out for a different one. We've had our new fridge worked on twice already because the fridge section does not get cold at all. Our freezer died. I went online to determine what freezer to buy. I picked out what I wanted and called around for prices. Appliance Discounter had the best price, and they offered both free delivery and free removal of the old freezer. I ordered the freezer over the phone. It was delivered on the date and at the time promised. The "movers" were very careful not to damage our house or the freezer when they moved it in. They explained how the freezer worked (there are a few bonus items that were new to us), attached the handle, and plugged in it. They were pleasant and friendly. I had a kitchen remodel fiasco. You know those home remodel shows where they ALWAYS say you never know what you're going to find until you start tearing things down? Yup, that happened. Assumed there was a wall behind my cabinets... because duh. Nope, turns out I had somewhat of a fake cabinet and behind it was the empty stairwell going down to my basement... which made my new range 3 inches too wide for the space I had. So my contractors and I talked things over and really the only solution was to buy a new more narrow range, which they warned me a crazy expensive. Looked at Lowe's where my other appliances were from, $1050 for cheapest one. My contractor suggested I check out Appliance Discounters since he got his there. Looked on the website and found the exact same range. Called and asked for pricing... it was almost half price because of a small dent on one side. SOLD! Handled the transaction over the phone and arranged delivery, all in a matter of 5 minutes. Went in and told the 2 employees what I was looking for. They were able to get me the brand and model that I had selected after my research. Great price. The installers were James and Dan. We purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer and the price included installation. The third party with whom Appliance Discounters contracts to install the machines did not complete installation of the dryer. We were told an extension needed to be installed in order to connect the exhaust hose and complete installation of the dryer. The contractor did not have the required extension and left without installing the dryer. Appliance Discounters refused to send the install team back out at no additional cost to us to complete installation of the dryer once we had purchased the extension. Instead, we purchased the extension and had to complete installation of the dryer ourselves notwithstanding having been charged for installation. From a client service perspective, this resolution left a lot to be desired. Based on this experience, I would not purchase from them again. Almost immediately after posting the above review, we received a call from the store manager. He stated they want to make the situation right, and are willing to send the install team back out. Assuming they do send the team out and resolve installation to our satisfaction in the next few days, I will post a revised review. Stay tuned. read more
