I remember when this was Fathom and Firkin and then when it was The Assembly and I'm pretty sure it had another name but since I only went when I was drinking the name escapes me.
Anyhow, after a weekend in Brighton I stopped back in my old home town to see my parents and we headed to Slug and lettuce for lunch.
The decor of the place is much nicer than that of the past, but then it no longer looks like a place where lots of drunk people hang out with loud music.
During the week they have a number of meals on a £5 deal during the deal so I chose to have scampi and chips, one of my most favourite meals followed by macaringues which is a mix between Maccaroons and meringues and filled with cream.
The prices were reasonable, the food was tasty and service was great, can't really fault the place to be honest.
The location is central to the town centre which is great. read more
