There is a reasonable ca park as it gets quite hard to park in the summer. I have visited for lunch and dinner and both were very nicely presented and well cooked. The skate is very tasty and the scampi and Jenga chips are good. The costs can be a little bit higher for lunch but the menu is very similar and therefore for dinner, I thought it was quite reasonable. Peter who used to be at another Billericay restaurant is the restaurant manager and as normal makes sure we get well looked after.

There were zero plates taken off the table that were not empty! I had the Halloumi burger, which had a great, crispy batter topped with some guacamole mayo with a red sauce on the side. Really good. Then we doubled down and hit the dessert menu! Two warm chocolate brownies with salted caramel ice cream and four plum tarts. We asked for some custard on the side because who doesn't like custard?! The pub is steeped in history and that is reflected in the well kept but near un-touched interior. They have some great ales on tap and all are served with a friendly smile and, if not too busy, are happy to talk through some of the pub's history. The garden here in the summer is fantastic. The views are breath-taking and they run a barbecue every Sunday which of course, does attract a huge crowd so either get there early or have some extra bags of patience with you. We head there without fail once a year with a big group of friends and spend the whole afternoon eating and drinking beer, I highly advise you to do the same!
