    Pretty cool decor.

Seven Stars, you get 5 stars. Great place for food. Our meal in Brighton, this trip and it really set the bar high and our jaunt across the pond off to a great start! Decor is amazing. Really cool vibe. They have obviously have had an artist in to do illustrations over the walls. Loads of beers I didn't recognise on tap. So much to choose from I ended up getting scared and going for a pint of blue moon since we only had time for one. The food is tremendous. Got a fried chicken dinner, which had fried chicken breasts, a ton of chips, corn on the cob, coleslaw and a secret recipe mayo. Beaut all round!

Just got back from yelp newbie night held here (great to meet everyone by the way) and it's a pretty cool venue! Obviously sticking to a similar format as the hare and hounds, this place is the latest trendy boozer to hit town. It's a massive improvement on previous incarnations, particular fan of the wall paintings. One downside, it's like a sauna!!! Wtf!? I do not want to sweat whilst having a drinky poo! It was wet and grim outside. Dread to think how hot it is when hot out. On to the food, we had I think a taste of all of the bites on the menu and over all I really enjoyed them. In fact I liked them all. The only one I was a bit let down by was the deep fried pig meat or something which I found a bit dry (which is something I have always found with smokehouses meats which is a shame). Luckily the two sauces (BBQ and a slightly spicy one) we really good. The spicier one in particular. Really good. This wasn't the cause of my sweating! Diego check it out again. Want to see the rest of the menu! Thanks Sophie for organising.

Much improved from the days when it was an O'Neills, the Seven Stars is a bit of a mix between modern and traditional. It's a large place, stretching a long way back from the street, but split enough into different seating areas that it doesn't feel like a huge warehouse like space. There is some interesting decor, I kind of modern take on trad pub with patterened wallpapers, dark woods and floor tiles, which just stays the right side of tacky. The food is really the big draw. It's a good cross between pub favourites (such as jacket potatoes) and more upmarket dishes such as lamb shank. I had a steak sandwich which was lovely - nice rich meat and quality bread.

Seven Stars pub has a lovely, homey atmosphere, including a fireplace and a wii set up to a large screen television. Some friends were trying out wii golf whilst my friend and I stopped in for lunch. They weren't very skilled, but it still felt like we were getting a bit of entertainment with our meal. The dinner menu looks quite impressive, but it was only lunch time, and so we each ordered the roasted veggie and goat cheese wraps, deciding to save the butternut squash with lamb or cheese ravioli meals for another time. The wraps came with either chips or crisps, and were both delicious and filling. I'm sure there was more cream cheese than goat cheese inside, and they were a bit messily put together, but the taste was delish. Most lunch items were less than £5, and the dinners were just a few pounds more. There's a deal on at the moment where two meals and a bottle of wine is only £20. That sounds delightful, and is possibly why the pub always looks so busy around dinner time.

Seven Stars, as gastropubs in Brighton go, is nothing special. The food is good (certainly better than when it was an Irish pub!), it's not too pricey, drinks are plentiful... There are just so many more exciting and interesting places in the area. With no 'spark', no enthusiastic reason to visit, beyond it looking a little like a Wetherspoons, Seven Stars is missing something, and as such I go to very rarely. The area where Seven Stars is, inbetween the Lanes and Churchill Square, is already full of great watering holes: The Fiddler's Elbow, the green one which I can't remember the name of (opposite Fabrica), the Hop Poles, to name but a few. All of those pubs have something that draws you to them, from the Hope Poles amazing food and covered smoking area to the Fiddler's Elbow's noisy, friendly atmosphere, and Seven Stars goes a bit wanting in this regard. There's nothing wrong with the place, I just have no reason to go there! This annoys me so much because many elements of what Seven Stars offers are exactly up my alley: busy, but not crowded, inexpensive, not cheap, wholesome, tasty food... It just doesn't have anything beyond that. In an area so busy with amazing places for a night out, I need something more from this place. However, that little spark doesn't deride the overall value of a well-run pub. All of the above applies: it is everything a good pub should be. With something to help it stand out, I might come here more often; as it is, it's a perfectly nice place for a drink, just don't be surprised if you leave after a couple.

One of the most stylish and original pubs in Brighton (not far from the seafront), the Seven Stars offers a more than decent variety of ales, plus the usual selection of national and international lagers. What makes the Seven Stars special is the highly original décor and the spacious indoor seating area - this is truly a place to linger and while away a lazy afternoon. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful, too. One of the best traditional pubs (with a bar vibe) in Brighton. Recommended.

I've often felt that if you're doing some serious drinking in town, especially where the streets are crammed with shoppers, only a dark, preferably cavernous boozer will do. Step forward The Seven Stars. Located in the lanes opposite Piccolo, it's a Youngs joint with a very pleasing interior design - a real nod to the trad public houses of yore- and a relaxed feel. I've noticed it get livelier as the days rolls on though.... Top marks to the wag who noted on a chalkboard in the window that 'Cider is one of your five a day'!!! Tell THAT to the revenue, Landlord.

I have been here a couple times since the refurb. It's kitted out like most of the microbreweries that seem to be popping up everywhere these days. It's comfortable with cool music. The staff are friendly and it has an interesting smokehouse menu. I love craft beer so this pub is right up my street. My favourite beer is the Camden Wit, it's a lovely smooth pale ale with loads flavour. I would defiantly recommend this place for a cheeky mid week pint or a boozey weekend session.

In all my years in Brighton I had only ever been to Seven Stars once, on Christmas day a few years ago as it was one of the few pubs that were open. It was okay, but nothing really to write home about. Fast forward 3 or 4 years, I have since found myself in Seven Stars a few times, it has recently had a makeover. I was persuaded to go in with a few friends after going on a Brighton Ghost Walk. The Decor is much improved, nice mood lighting with candles, and a really impressive bar. The staff were young and friendly, and the pub is laid out so that it's just as nice to sit and have a quite drink with a friend or with a big group. I haven't tasted any of the food on the menu as of yet but I will be sure to check it out. The ambience was nice and it wasn't too noisy at all, I think it's a great place to go for pre drinks before a night out, as it's not too loud and therefore it's great if you want to go somewhere for a drink and good old natter and catch up.

This was a great find in Brighton, the meal was huge and was only £10! The meal was kind of b q style, chicken goujons, skinny fries, coleslaw, pickles, BBQ dip all laid out on a tray. The inside of seven stars had a chilled out vibe, they even allowed dogs in. The decor was quirky and had graffiti around the walls. Lots of variety of gin cocktails too, which was brill!

Reasonable food and good beers, not the best pub in the world but a nice safe haven from shopping in the lanes!

Reputed to be Brighton's smallest pub, it has two small rooms either side of a central bar, serving a couple of real ales, and the usual range of lagers, wines and spirits. The decor is plush and cosy - rather like the inside of a theatre. This is appropriate, as the walls are covered with hundreds of old theatre posters and signed photos of theatre performers. (Or should that be 'artistes'?) It's reputed that Laurence Olivier (among others) once drank here. The staff are very friendly, and it attracts a loyal following of (mostly) gay men, although it's not exclusively gay. A perfect spot to escape from the winter gales on Brighton sea-front.

The seats are of faded pinkish velvet and the air somehow stuffy as though thick with back stage stories from days that have long since come to pass. It's not going to be everybody's cup of tea, but if you've ever watched the fast show's Arthur Atkinson story and aside from the comedy been taken in by the romance of 1950's theatre this place is well worth a trip. The drinks selection's not bad either it has the usual standards and last trip a made there I enjoyed some Harveys Sussex best and marvelled with complete ignorance at the signed monochrome photos across the back wall.

I went back to the bartender and he apologized and then offered me another drink. I looked at multiple bottles and ALL of them had flies. I said they needed to throw them away and I would just take a beer. He gave me a beer free and then went outside to hang with my friend. I then watched him pour the bottles through a strainer and then back into the bottles. Not only did they never rinse the glass but didn't rinse the strainer that had the flies in it. So - Do NOT drink any whisky in this place. In fact don't drink any hard liquor in this place. Other bottles had flies but didn't see them "recycling" them. Bartender was very nice and amicable but this place should be shut down. Someone will get sick. No idea if they clean their beer lines or not but just stay away.

I had never had a tomato tart before but really enjoyed it, and I thought the beef cheek was very tender. Other people raved about the fries. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Drinks were good! I had a cocktail called "The Bees Knees," which I really liked. There are plenty of beers on tap, and the waitstaff gets around to bar belly-uppers quickly. The space is amazing. There's a second story, rooftop courtyard, and a large downstairs area for dancing, live music, picture taking, and a brewery/beer store attached. As someone who loves lots of diversions and micro-vibes within a bar, I really enjoyed bopping between all of these areas. What better way to finish off the night than to catch a trio downstairs playing motown and rock? These guys were terrific: the bass player/singer was getting the crowd dancing, and the guitar player and drummer were seamlessly providing a groovy beat.
