We came to Omaha to catch a band we follow but had never been to this venue before. We were so excited that it wasn't huge so we had a great view of the stage without having to line up before doors open. We showed up about 20 minutes before the opening band started. Looks like they had balcony and other reserved seating available for folks who want to make sure they can sit, but I don't think the view was any better from those spots. Sound was good, although there were some instances of feedback throughout the show. We also liked the location because we were able to find beer and food right around this area and were walking distance from our hotel.

This is for the amazing, socially distanced concert series that Slowdown hosted this past summer. There were pods you could sit in with your friends and family that were well thought out. An outside beverage stand offered local beers that were ice cold and efficient. There was also a stand to purchase some quality Slowdown tees and sweatshirts. Each pod was individually numbered. Why you ask? Well, you could place an order online for some wonderful food from Hook and Lime or a quality libation from the Trap Room. A friendly server would then locate your pod for quick delivery. This goes to show that Slowdown ROCKS in more ways than one!!

Fast bartenders, great venue, fantastic acoustics, just-right size. This is my favorite local venue. I've seen several bands here... local ones to internationally known ones. I've never had a bad experience. Some of the bands and artists I've seen here include Ani DiFranco, Tricky, Seawolf, Silversun Pickups, and a Led Zeppelin cover band. Slowdown has great drink specials (PBR is way cheap here), and you can even buy six packs of plain jain or micro-brewed beers. I absolutely adore the Slowdown.

We came here for a concert this weekend and we really enjoyed this venue. Firstly the show was very reasonably priced and the two local openers they had were actually really good. The venue is really large with seating in the back of the venue with a patio, lots of high top tables and chairs in front of the bar, seating flanking the left and right sides of the stage in a fan, and then upstairs seating overlooking the stage. The stage and dance floor are sunken down allowing for great visibility for all the side seating. The acoustics were great and the bands sounded awesome. The bartenders were all really nice and even after they got busy they were still super attentive. The drinks we had were all mixed well and fairly priced. I definitely recommend this venue if you're coming for a show, but even as just a hangout place it seems legit.

Slowdown front room And main room are both great spots to catch a show. I like that there's a decent amount of meter parking nearby as well as other bars & food places. I'm not from Omaha but try to catch a show every few months. Slowdown has really great sound too on stage and I have appreciated their interesting music choices for booking too. Have caught some great shows here over the years. Recently noticed their bar staff was very polite and helpful . Selection of craft beers and wine too, and they also sell chips and salsa apparently- but that's cool! I liked that they had a decent selection of sour beers too.

The Admiral now has tables upstairs (where before had only been bleachers), a large/redone bar area that is way more open (and great bartenders!), and best of all - air conditioning! It could get very hot in there during summer, but I just attended a show there tonight (when it was 99 degrees outside) and the air conditioning was working beautifully! The acoustics and sound are pretty good for comedy acts and more acousticy bands, but when the music gets a lot louder, the singer/lyrics can get a little drowned out. I think that's the only negative thing I've noticed. With the upgrades they've made from the Sokol days, I'd say definitely check this place out to see the new digs!

Not because of the shows per se, but because of the community this place has created. The employees who make it all happen. I'll talk specifically about tonight. Went to a show, and had an issue with my ticket. This issue was an issue I created by making a mistake when the tickets were transferred, but Steelhouse employees were so quick and helpful. They took something that could have ruined a whole evening, and they resolved it within minutes. That alone was impressive and very kind especially since the mistake was not on their end. I was greeted by familiar faces, some who seemed to even remember me back. My next experience was specifically upstairs in the balcony. I'm currently expecting and needed to sit down and rest for a bit due to some complications I've been having. The employees checked on me regularly and went way above and beyond to make sure I was well cared for. I'm not special, they did this to everyone there. I saw paramedics with a gentleman, and shortly after, an employee took the rest of his evening to sit next to this ill person and assist them until I can only assume their ride arrived safely. The janitors were kind, and picked up very quickly after people's accidents left and right. Their work does not go unappreciated by people like me, who could've slipped and fallen on the spilled drinks along the way to and from the GA floor. Even the elevator greeters genuinely seemed excited for you to experience all this place had to offer. The cops that nod your way as you exit the venue are kind as well. This place doesn't appear to be an establishment of employees, but a community built upon responsibility and caring for one another - what a venue should be. I will be back, and I cannot wait to greet the faces of those who work so hard to make simple concerts so so special and memorable in ways that you just don't find just anywhere.

The service is too notch and plenty of ushers do walk you directly to your seats. There are at least four bars from what I saw (one in main hallway and three in the seating/stage area). There were plenty of bartenders as well. They have a coat check in and there's plenty of space to stand around before the show starts. My only complaint is the seats are small foldable chairs and connected to each other so you can't move them at all and you can be touching elbows or bottoms depending on the size of people

The service was great, people working were very kind to me as I needed to sit and take a breather while my wife was getting the chairs for us to put up down in the ADA section near the stage. The gate worker got me a chair to sit in and wait for her, this was very kind and helpful! The sound at this venue is a bit off, a band that I know has great vocals and sound sounded funny and not like their voices were carrying like they usually do. I also would like to say that the ADA section could really be better. It's VERY hard to see as a person in a wheelchair. Being unable to stand up for long periods of time, I couldn't see for a majority of the show. It was frustrating especially when people would walk in front of me, stand directly infront of where I am sitting, and talk, not even watching the show. The ADA section needs to have a clear view of the stage as it is unfair to those who have disabilities to give up a nice time because the venue cannot provide a space where they are accommodated.

I like the fact that you can bring your own blanket or chairs to sit in. I haven't tried the food in the little area, but drinks are pricey just like every other venue. It seems horribly laid out, almost every time I go, we go the wrong direction to our seats because signs don't direct you properly and are confusing, even venue staff seem confused at how to direct you to your seats. This results in a lot of backtracking as the venue is huge. Most seats are nice but the very upper bowl is very steep, terrifying and never a desirable spot to be in. More recently, I've gone to Disney on ICE and have become even more unimpressed that they have zero diaper changing tables--it's just a hard counter out in the open. One time I even walked to the family bathroom, still a counter. I understand that most shows/events here aren't exactly for small children but to not even have that accessibility is wrong (and then expect people to bring in clear bags so your child doesn't have a cover/cushion at all to change them on). Seems like this would be a minor adjustment the venue could make to improve quality, and it can't be that expensive with all of the money they make on parking and concessions . Pros are of course that it is a big venue that gets decent shows and service from concession staff has always been friendly, even during packed shows.
