I have no idea what the ones who are complaining about how they got treated. Maybe it wasn't the staff who had the problem! Parking was only $5.00 can you believe that? try to find that kind of a deal downtown like that! Plus it is right across the street from it! And it was a breeze to get out of as they people directing traffic to keep it moving. If I could give them a higher rating I would! I look forward to many more concerts at the The Astro Theater! Too, the line is odd, as it's only one person screening IDs for booze wristbands. We decided they don't need our bar money. Skipped on those, and went to the entry area, which has multiple entry lines. The sound is great. The light show is odd, given that it's still light out at 7pm in July. The headliner might be able to properly utilize them, though. The stage is close enough to see facial expressions from the 200s, which is great. Out here, the singer can easily walk down to the audience. He did, too. Parking is the same for indoor and outdoor seating. It's close to the event, and it's only $5. We'd previously been to the indoor theater, and liked it better. Not as hot, nor as sunny, either. I see apartments next to the amphitheater. That must be rough. There need to be more restaurants near this location. We're glad we like one of the few.

You can reserve seats in advance or go with general admission which is more inexpensive and sit with your chairs and blankets in a good sized grassy area behind the main seats. The angle from the grass gives those viewers a decent view of the stage as well. No outside food or beverage allowed, but there is a concession stand inside the venue. A gem of a facility a little off the beaten track. Definitely worth a try.

When we walked up to the front a few of the security guards were offering extra bug spray to people that didn't have any which was just another small touch that made the venue seem really friendly. Lots of times venues heard people like cattle but at Sumtur they were accommodating and thoughtful. The best and most impressive part was the venue itself. In the fifth row, I was stunned by how clear of a view to the stage I had and how clean and well kept the place was. I was at eye level with the bands which was amazing. The seats were by far the best I've had at a venue for a really reasonable price. Also, the bathrooms were awesome. Short lines and super clean. OH OH OH AND they serve a really kick ass craft beer. The Alamo Drafthouse used to be the place where you could trust that people wouldn't spend the entire movie talking or being on their phones, because it was a core tenet of the place that you would get kicked out for talking or texting etc. All you had to do was raise a card, "and a manager will take care of it." In my experience, this policy really hasn't been enforced much over the last few years, but as of this month, they have confirmed that they no longer care at all. As of now, you have to use your phone to order food or report talking/phone use. The ordering cards are no longer an option, there are no menus at each seat, only a QR code,and all throughout the movie, if you need anything, you're going to have to get your phone out. And once you do, good luck even getting the site to actually load. They have a really hilarious new announcement at the beginning of every movie about how they understand the irony of asking people not to use their phones (except to order), "just don't be a jerk about it." This new mobile-only experience is completely hostile to their customers, and has removed the human element that was a big part of what originally made the Alamo Drafthouse special. B&B theaters offers auditoriums with playgrounds in them, so kids can run around play during the movie. Sadly, a sold out screening at one of those is likely a less distracting movie-going experience than our last several visits to the drafthouse since the changes were put in place.

The ambiance is very comfortable, lush, and reminds me of old school movie theaters. Each set of seats has a table (and a purse hook, which I love) to give you a true dining experience while watching your favorite films. The Alamo consistently does movie series, and will show reruns or specials, one of my favorites being the Max Fleischer series featuring Betty Boop shorts. I love the opportunity to see older movies in theaters, and the Alamo does an amazing job of making the experience all-encompassing. I have been to one of their special brunch showings of White Christmas, for which they had a fun themed menu. It was truly the most fun and festive movie showing, and I would highly recommend getting the Alamo app to see what is showing in the future. Some movies are better on the big screen, and the Alamo consistently delivers. The menu is also great and I have always enjoyed everything I eat from here. I always try a burger and a new mixed drink, but their loaded fries are A+ and I would advise ordering them! The staff is incredibly kind, and very speedy. In the rare instance that my order has been forgotten, they have been very prompt in correcting the mistake. As someone who is tired of attending movies just to hear chatting and snickering, which I have had to deal with at other Omaha theaters, the Alamo has a strict no-phone, no-talk, no arriving late policy, which I personally feel makes the experience even better. They truly value the customer experience, and I will continue to come here time and time again.

I was in a chair, that I moved myself from a table. So I wasn't taking a 4 top by myself. I said would move to the end of the bar, so I don't take up too much space. She said "are you not told "no" much?" Then said "move- it's our policy". So. I paid $30 thus far. To go out tonight. I get it. I'm alone. So I sat alone at the bar. To be berated by a middle manager . So now I'm taking up a whole 4 top by myself. Feet up. Not allowing any other guests a chair. Sorry. No. BC it's their "policy". Then she explained, that i can stand there but i can't sit there. Even if I was drinking, and buying drinks all night. And she was so proud of herself. I remember bartending- for 14 years. At places like the Ranch Bowl, Choo Choos, I never remember telling a customer to move bc they sat down, alone. I think what's more important is how excited she was to be a dick. If I was causing a fight, or completely non compliant (Again - alone and said I would move to the end of the empty bar)- then i wouldn't be posting this. Instead. This grumpy bitch ruined my night. A night that I bought tickets for two weeks ago. I almost never go out to bars. I'm 47, so older, and alone. My friends were so happy for me to do this. Maybe- that "policy" works when it's elbow to elbow. But if it's so dead...maybe people sitting at the end of the bar is a good thing.
