The Admiral now has tables upstairs (where before had only been bleachers), a large/redone bar area that is way more open (and great bartenders!), and best of all - air conditioning! It could get very hot in there during summer, but I just attended a show there tonight (when it was 99 degrees outside) and the air conditioning was working beautifully! The acoustics and sound are pretty good for comedy acts and more acousticy bands, but when the music gets a lot louder, the singer/lyrics can get a little drowned out. I think that's the only negative thing I've noticed. With the upgrades they've made from the Sokol days, I'd say definitely check this place out to see the new digs!

Good looking venue and all the seats give a good view of the stage area. You can reserve seats in advance or go with general admission which is more inexpensive and sit with your chairs and blankets in a good sized grassy area behind the main seats. The angle from the grass gives those viewers a decent view of the stage as well. No outside food or beverage allowed, but there is a concession stand inside the venue. A gem of a facility a little off the beaten track. Definitely worth a try.

When we walked up to the front a few of the security guards were offering extra bug spray to people that didn't have any which was just another small touch that made the venue seem really friendly. Lots of times venues heard people like cattle but at Sumtur they were accommodating and thoughtful. The best and most impressive part was the venue itself. In the fifth row, I was stunned by how clear of a view to the stage I had and how clean and well kept the place was. I was at eye level with the bands which was amazing. The seats were by far the best I've had at a venue for a really reasonable price. Also, the bathrooms were awesome. Short lines and super clean. OH OH OH AND they serve a really kick ass craft beer. Would definitely go to another show here.

The Alamo consistently does movie series, and will show reruns or specials, one of my favorites being the Max Fleischer series featuring Betty Boop shorts. I have been to one of their special brunch showings of White Christmas, for which they had a fun themed menu. It was truly the most fun and festive movie showing, and I would highly recommend getting the Alamo app to see what is showing in the future. Some movies are better on the big screen, and the Alamo consistently delivers. The menu is also great and I have always enjoyed everything I eat from here. In the rare instance that my order has been forgotten, they have been very prompt in correcting the mistake.
