I came in on a Friday, and I'll tell you it was packed weddings, business people, tourest and etc it was a lot of people. Even using valet was a pain but I managed it. Honestly, just have to be patient at the end of the day. Rooms were clean and service was great. I actually had a decent view facing the outside towards the shake shack area it was fine it was cool seeing the buildings. Gym is located on the 9th floor, that was amazing. Gym was clean and huge. So many people rushed to work out on a Saturday but it had so much room. I can't say much negative experience sure did it feel outdated in some areas. But it's a Marriot and I had a wonderful experience. Is stay here again.

For the pros, the location is great. For the cons, there are many and some that are deal breakers. In addition to the club lounge being closed and locked a lot, we had multiple issues with our room. The carpet is way past needing to be replaced. In addition to being worn out and dingy, ours had a foot-long, rip it. That's inexcusable for a hotel of this class and price point. I told the hotel about it, twice, and they just didn't care. In addition, the hotel is located close to the hospital downtown, so you get a lot of ambulances and sirens all night. Even though we were on the 45th floor, they sounded like they were in our room. An inspection of the window showed that the sliding window in the room doesn't seem to have any seal when it closes. So you can hear the outside noise as if the window was open. Again, this is inexcusable for a hotel of this caliber. Also, one of the large tiles in the shower was cracked in half with a quarter inch gap throughout the crack. If you combine all this together, you don't get a very premium feel. Instead, this is an aging hotel in need of updates with management that doesn't seem to care. Also, they charge you a daily $30 destination fee for essentially nothing. They try to make it sound like you're getting things, but those are things that you either are already getting for free or would never want or use. They are just garbage junk fees for them to secretly charge higher prices without making it look like they are. I will be finding a different hotel for my next day in Chicago.

Truly a 5 star experience at The Langham!…read more I was lucky enough to be gifted a stay and had an incredible time. The hotel is so beautiful, I can see why it's ranked #3 in the nation. If you're able to splurge for club access at $200/person, you'll get to experience stunning city views, breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, unlimited cocktails, and evening bites. We were also sent a bottle of wine and snacks to our room. I loved that they have a free spa area where you can use the sauna, heated stone loungers, and cold showers. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Overall it was nice to live in luxury for the night, highly recommend if you're looking to splurge and relax! Hope I'll be able to stay again someday.

I haven't been to the Windy City in years, and wanted to have a great experience. Unfortunately, this hotel didn't live up to its reputation in any way. This hotel is sleek and modern, but doesn't give an impression of luxury. It's minimalist, and I found the service to be minimalist as well. The front desk was polite, as were the bell/door staff, but I did not feel overly welcomed. My friend was staying with me, and when we entered our room, the first thing we did was check out the quality of the beds. I saw another review for this hotel, and the reviewer stated that the mattresses felt "hard and cheap". My friend and I, unfortunately, heartily agree with this assessment. In addition, the pillows were far too soft. We were both expecting an exceptional weekend full of rest- instead we were uncomfortable, and tossed and turned. We both agreed we should have stayed at The Westin, as they're known for their comfortable beds. The room could have also used a deep cleaning. There were splatter stains on the curtains, and a smear of something on the chair. The bathroom had mildew in the shower grout, and an old rubber band that was overlooked. The overall room decor was unremarkable. The doors are very heavy to the rooms, and there is a lot of slamming. This is worth mentioning, if you like sleeping in. Additionally, I had a negative experience with a member of the concierge team. I approached this unfriendly individual, and asked for help booking something specific, and they advised me to "call them or book online". So what is the purpose of employing a concierge when they offer zero value? I am not cheap by any means, but when I am spending this type of money for a hotel stay, I expect an exceptional experience. I would never expect to have a mediocre experience at a 5 star hotel, but that is exactly what I received. I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

The cleanliness is exceptional, supported by daily housekeeping that maintains a high standard throughout the visit. The Highlights * The View: One of the standout features is the spectacular, unobstructed view of Lake Michigan. * The Spa: The Trump Spa offers a solid wellness experience. The "Goddess Massage" is a recommended treatment, providing a comprehensive 2-in-1 experience that combines a full-body scrub with a professional massage. The Drawbacks * Dining at Terrace 16: Despite the convenience of a $60 daily breakfast credit, the morning meal at Terrace 16 is best avoided. The food quality does not meet expectations, and the pricing is high enough that guests will almost certainly exceed the allotted credit. * Value Proposition: Between the lackluster breakfast and the potential for high out-of-pocket costs at the restaurant, the dining experience significantly detracts from the overall value. I would totally stay here again for The excellent service, cleanliness and the spectacular view. Love having the kitchen area as well.

I also checked in online with Elite status and got a cute bag with popcorn, Pringles, tea and water and a pair of Springhill Suites slippers!!! They weren't much but quite frankly after the hassle I'd experienced once we landed until I got to the hotel - it truly just made my day. I do wish I could give 5 stars but the bed was not comfy and I wake with light and kept waking from the smoke alarm flashing above me. I needed a good night of sleep and didn't get much unfortunately. Still, I'd gladly go back. Free decent breakfast and friendly people. I will also comment that the "BOLD" Coffee you all offer for breakfast qualifies to me, a long time coffee drinker, as Rocket Fuel. Not coffee. WOW it was bitter and strong!!!!! Maybe have a lighter offer as well besides decaf. Just saying!

Visit date: Memorial Day Weekend, 2022 Room: 108…read more Title: All factors considered, it's pretty good I stayed here for 4 nights through Memorial Day weekend. With _ALL_ taxes and fees accounted for, the price came out to $105.50 per night. Considering the prime location, this was an extremely good deal. At the time I booked (around 2 months before my visit), most hotels in the area were advertised upwards of $150/night. The room is humble, and really only comes with the basic essentials. The only sort of luxury you'll find in the room is a television set, but they're 32" 720p (Model #NS-32D310NAS21) , so you're likely not going to use them. Put frankly, this is the kind of hotel you'd use if you're just needing a place to spend the night -- and for what I needed -- it fit perfectly. There's Ethernet and Wi-Fi, but the WiFi signal was terrible in my room, I got a whopping 100ms ping, with 1.79 Mbps down and 1.90 Mbps up. Again, this didn't really matter to me, as I just needed a place to sleep. The shower was warm, but the water pressure was pretty meager. I found the front desk staff to be fairly friendly on the times I needed to interact with them, so I appreciate that. All in all: this is the perfect southern Chicago hotel for the single budget-conscious traveller.

And the ceiling was leaking. The 3rd room smelled of mold, and the showered was covered in it. Now we are in a room with a mini fridge that smelled like someone died in it (we wheeled that off into the hallway). Oh, and the safety lock is missing from the door. We've been staying here for years, but after this experience, we will never stay here again.

We were on the 5th floor, facing the river and the river cruise area. The main floor had 2 bar/restaurant and a shop and the second floor had another bar. The room was clean and it was neat. I slept on the sofa bed and it was comfy and spacious. The bathroom was big, especially the walk in shower. There were shelves to place your things in, too and the water won't get in. So yes the bathroom is big but I feel like you don't really need a whole lot of shelves INSIDE the walk in shower. The mirror was cool as it also had a digital time on it. This area is also super convenient as it's in the heart of downtown Chicago. It's a pretty big hotel so we got a bit lost here and there but there were signs so we didn't get too lost. There are some doors and entrances that close quite early so keep that in mind.

The Hyatt Regency initially impressed us, but our experience changed after the first night…read more Supposedly, it is one of the largest Hyatt hotels in the world. It has two towers connected by a skybridge, with check-in on the second floor. The escalator for going upstairs was down for half our stay, so waiting for elevators was inconvenient. The staff was initially friendly and accommodating, even offering us free water bottles. We were pleasantly surprised that we ended up getting an upgraded room to a regular 2 queen on a higher floor! We had a really nice view of the city skyscrapers too. Our room was very spacious, clean and modern. The queen beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space, a desk area, and even a large long couch. We also had a working mini fridge and a gigantic TV. They had a list of free items we could request too like slippers and toiletries. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well, but the door was broken? It would get stuck every time we tried to open from the inside. I felt trapped and it would take like 10X aggressive pull attempts to get it to open. The AC kept turning off on our first night so then it was super hot, making it difficult to sleep. Then the next morning, we were in the middle of getting ready when we had strangers successfully access our room with their keycard! It was a different party trying to do early check in and the staff doublebooked our room, even though we were staying for an additional 4 nights. We were both extremely confused and went downstairs together to the check-in counter to chat with the staff. The male staff responsible for this mistake didn't seem very surprised nor remorseful? He just said sorry and gave them a different room. Upon returning, my party and I's keycards were deactivated, requiring us to renew all our cards! I spoke to another female staff about my card and she said there's no notes on my account explaining the room card deactivating, which meant the male who originally made the mistake never left a note stating he overbooked my room and gave unauthorized access for strangers to enter my room. I explained to her what happened and she also seemed unapologetic of the situation and looked at me like I was crazy and dismissed my experience. She kept asking me if it was my other party that had access to my room (since I booked two rooms), BUT NO, IT WAS A DIFFERENT PARTY! We also complained that our AC kept turning off in the middle of the night. A maintenance guy arrived shortly after, and he explained the reason the AC turned off was because it was on eco/ energy-saving mode. He explained that usually when a room is unoccupied, it'll automatically switch to save energy instead of staying on AC cool mode. He was confused about why our room was marked "unoccupied" and apologized for the inconvenience, promising to contact the check-in staff to ensure our room IS OCCUPIED to prevent AC from turning off. So I guess what happened was when we checked in on day 1, they must have not marked our room as OCCUPIED in the system which explains why our room got doublebooked and why the AC didn't work! Also explains why housekeeping told us our room wasn't on their list of rooms to clean so they didn't service our room both days. WTF!! I was so frustrated so I went to the check-in desk and spoke to someone else for the third time to ensure our room is marked occupied in their system and explained our terrible experience. She was super nice and empathetic about the situation, and said she'd inform the hotel manager to investigate what happened. They asked if I wanted updates on what they've investigated and I said no, all I want is for that to not happen again :( I don't feel safe or secure when you guys are overbooking our room and giving strangers access to the rooms. Tbh if we hadn't slept in late that morning, I don't know what would have happened to our stuff if that party had accessed our rooms, had we not been in the room at the time! Two days later, they slipped a note under our door stating they've investigated the situation and determined that no one else used our keycard after reviewing their history log. Well, of course not, they deactivated our old keys and gave us new keys after that incident happened so obviously it's not going to show anyone else with access since all the key cards got updated. They def did not check their cameras because that would have proved otherwise. And to compensate for this crazy incident, they gifted us a voucher for ONE free food item and drink item from their cafe (even tho there's 3 of us). All of us are still extremely frustrated that our experience felt very dismissed by them saying they couldn't find any evidence of unauthorized ppl accessed our rooms when IT DID HAPPEN. I wished we received more compensation for this ridiculous and unhappy experience. I've been loyal to HYATT hotels for years and I'm truly upset that this happened while we were on vacation.
