As far as brokers (generally the WORST) and management companies go, this place is the cream of the crop. I had to move during the height of Covid when my landlord decided to turn my apartment into her art studio (thanks, Tina) and Michael Cohen helped me find a beautiful apartment, a block from the park for a great price - and no fee! He was an absolute pleasure to work with from the viewing through the lease signing and was even able to secure me a multi-year lease (you gotta lock in those Covid deals, ya know?!) This company also manages my building and I've had zero issues in the almost 8 months I've lived here. They send exterminators regularly (totally preventative - I've had zero pests) and Gary is super responsive anytime I've had a question or an issue with my apartment. A+! read more

We now have been with Slope Realty for a decade, growing our family and changing apartments along the way. They've been great the whole time. I like to think we've been good tenants (pay on time, follow rules, don't paint the kitchen pink, etc.) -- but they've also been great landlords. They fix things fast, give us ample notice with required maintenance, and accommodate various requests we have had within reason. Would not hesitate to rent from this company again. In my experience as a tenant, Slope Realty is one of the "good guys" among NYC management companies. The office staff was helpful if occasionally brusque (hey, it's Brooklyn), and the property managers were responsive and accommodating to reasonable requests. At least in my building, the live-in super was professional and addressed minor repairs within 24 hours. The only suggestions I would make are to enable online rent payment and keep the office open late at least 1 day a week for those of us with typical M-F 9-6 work schedules. NOTE: I noticed some of the negative reviews are related to poor experiences with brokers. This seems unfair as the brokers are a separate entity. The actual experience of living in a Slope Realty building is (based on my experience) top-notch. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review so it's got to mean something! In my less than 2-year time with Slope Realty, I've LOVED working with management. Lingjie (landlord) from the very beginning has been calm, collected and responsive to every situation my roommates and I were in. His emails were quick, never hesitated to speak on the phone when needed, never gave any form of bad attitude and was always helpful to every situation. The secretary ladies also have always been kind whenever I popped by the office! Shmuel (unsure of title but part of management) is the best! I had a bit of a fall out in my apartment, but he helped me every step of the way with paperwork, quick emails and just overall having the most supportive attitude a person could ask for when being in a ruddy situation. Nobody wants to be in an unhealthy living situation, so I'm grateful for Shmuel and the rest of the management team for being on top of their work while showing that they care about their tenants. My superintendent, Carlos, was also the greatest guy around. He had always had our backs whenever something needed to be fixed. He took such great care of our apartment complex while listening to his Caribbean music, having a big smile on his face and making sure we were satisfied with our living space. I lived in one of their buildings for three years. I originally went through a separate company (Roomeeze) to find the apartment. Roomeeze was horrendous and made the initial process uncomfortable, but Slope quickly amended and compensated all faults experienced. In the three years I've lived there, they were completely professional and quick to respond. I never had any major issues with my unit and if I needed any help, someone was quick to help me fix it. My apartment is in nice shape but when something does occasionally need to be repaired they are very responsive and typically fix it within a day or two. I'm not one to gripe but I feel it is my duty to warn the masses to avoid this company. It is foremost an unfriendly and unresponsive operation, with a side of deception and greed. The company is set up to advantage of anyone moving into the area, whether it be newcomers or people who intend to stay for several years, and in addition to taking broker's fees for doing nothing, refuse to work with the tenant & landlord to come to an agreement on security deposit refunds. I lived with my roommates for several years. We contacted Slope Realty I'd say about 5 or 6 times with problems/maintenance issues and got a response maybe twice with only 1 time someone coming by the place to fix what we had asked for. In addition to shoddy maintenance & miserable disposition, it took over 60 days for my roommates & I to get our security deposit back - after weeks of failed & hostile communication. When we finally did get a response, we were told that they were taking deductions out of our security deposit for things we HAD SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO HAVE FIXED YEARS BEFORE. Upon showing them written proof, their only advice was that we could handle this in court. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I have been living in a building managed by slope realty since 2014, and it has been such a positive experience. The apartment is such a good deal for the neighborhood, the apt has charm and nice renovations, and they make repairs the next day whenever I call about maintenance (which has happened 2 times total since I've been in the apartment because things are in good condition). I have lived in 6 different apts with 6 different landlords, and Slope Realty is by far the most legit and reasonable that I've dealt with. It actually seems like they want to take care of their buildings. My one minor bug is that I often don't have my rent check deposited for a week or two after I send it. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with them and I felt the need to defend them against these negative reviews! read more

They were prompt and attentive when responding to maintenance requests for the unit and were very flexible when it came to having the apartment shown as my final lease ran down; which isn't something people usually think of but makes things much easier as you plan your move! I moved into my building about five months ago, and overall I've been happy with the management and their response to maintenance requests. I took over my apartment from a friend, and there wasn't time in between their move out and my move in for the company to do a once-over and make repairs. However, Adam (the agent I worked with) told me that if I had anything that needed to be repaired to just let him know. I've requested to have the moulding replaced around the perimeter of the main room, an A/C unit removed, faucet leaks fixed, and a starter in my oven replaced. All of these were done in a very timely manner, especially the moulding, which was a bigger job. The tenants in my building are very friendly, and respectful of one another, and I'm really happy to be in my new apartment. read more

Do whatever you can to not get involved with Slope Realty. They are dishonest, unprofessional and unresponsive. Everytime you call the owner is "never there." They treat their tenants extremely disrespectfully. We had several problems with the apartment and they were not addressed. We resigned the lease and Slope did not come in each year for touch-ups routine maintenance. Upon moving out it took 2 months for us to get our security deposit. Our calls and emails were not returned for weeks, until we threatened them. Once they were returned ridiculous deductions from our deposit were taken. The same will happen to you...beware. This is not an isolated incident as other folks in brooklyn have shared equally disturbing experiences. read more

Possibly the worst property management company ever. It took them months to fix a leak in my kitchen and they still haven't come back to fix the damage to the wall that the leak made. My radiator broke, and they still haven't replaced it. I get my heat from the pipes. Further, I can't see through one of the windows anymore because there is so much condensation, but repeated calls and letters to them fall on deaf ears. Unless you're a handyman and want to fix up your own, do yourself a favor and don't rent from them. read more

Finding a rental in NYC is a daunting task. There are a lot of places that will rip you off right up front from the application, to being unresponsive to their tenants. SLOPE REALTY was an absolute pleasure to work with. They were not only fair in their application and apt prices, but a pleasure to rent from. I found them accommodating and responsive to my needs. You'll be hard pressed to find a realtor with more class than Shmuel. He showed me a beautiful apartment. He was knowledgeable, kind and low pressure. He agreed to put it on hold for 2+ days while I apply. In the meantime I received an unexpected offer on another apartment which I had viewed previously, but had so much competition, as everyone at the open house wanted it. I accepted this alternative offer and felt terrible backing out. Shmuel was gracious and truly seemed happy that I found a place. I wouldn't hesitate to use Slope Realty in future. I recently moved into one of Mr. Rosenshein's apartments in Park Slope and so far I have been more than happy with my new home and overall experience. Both Mr. Rosenshein and broker Sam Khan were professional, timely and courteous from the first viewing and throughout the negotiation process on the lease. I also found them to be reasonably flexible around any issues/additional requirements, I had. I moved into a beautifully renovated apartment, where everything from tilework to new doors, moldings and floorwork had been done. The building is a lovely old brownstone that, from what I've experienced so far, seems clean and well-maintained. Any questions/concerns I've had after move-in, have been addressed quickly (within 24 hours) and resolved to my complete satisfaction. Obviously can't speak to the situations described below, but I will say that the NY real estate market is beyond tough, especially regarding expenses, and you have to be prepared to always negotiate hard. As mentioned, I feel that all my requirements around fees, renovations etc. have so far been addressed and met within reason and I am very happy with my new home. read more

We have been in the Real Estate business for over 40 years and always respected our tenants and at no time did we charge $500.00 finders fee. Stay away from this property management company! They are very difficult to deal with. Their application process is extremely tedious, they have ridiculous requirements. Also they have no concept of customer service - the people there are very arrogant and nasty. Stay away!!! read more
