I recently completed a 4 month period of physical therapy at the Sloane Stecker location in Lincoln Square after suffering a serious back injury at home. My physical therapist was Roxanne. I want to praise and recognize her very personalized focus and concentration on my specific physical needs and spinal condition. From the very first session until the last, Roxanne assigned me a vast variety of exercises to assist me in my gradual, but steadily progressive recovery from a painful and limiting back injury. I give Roxanne all the credit for the improvements I made in my recuperation. I was especially grateful for her upbeat attitude and very motivating encouragement as I progressed through the therapy sessions. I so enjoyed seeing Roxanne give me a smile and thumbs up sign when I finished a challenging exercise on equipment she chose and assigned to me. I was aware that she was gradually increasing the physical exertion and demands of a specific exercise as my back began responding to the therapy sessions. In addition to her very professional oversight of my therapy sessions, I truly appreciated Roxanne's very friendly and personable interaction with me. It was obvious to me how much she also enjoyed watching her clients make progress and improve. Anyone who needs physical therapy at Sloane Stecker in Lincoln Square will be fortunate and successful if Roxanne is their physical therapist. "Exemplary Experiences at Lincoln Square" I was drawn initially to Sloane Stecker due to the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ technology, TECAR therapy and numerous other advanced technologies with great reviews of their high therapeutic efficacy. I tore ligaments with 100% tears in my ankle and resided on crutches for four months. I followed the hospitals and orthopedics directives of ice and elevation. I was still incurring pain, swelling and weakness and sought out the Sloane Stecker premier physical therapy and sports performance studio. The staff at Sloane Stecker Physical Therapy are quite lovely, professional and demonstrate their passion for their occupation on a daily basis. I have frequented several physical therapist domestically and internationally for other injuries. Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square I am presently 72 years old. I began going to Sloane Stecker for physical therapy 2012 when I was 59 and suffering with a painful bursitis in my shoulder. As I have arthritis, since that time I've found occasion to go to other physical therapy studios from time to time for other debilitating conditions. The other studios have been adequate, but Sloane Stecker is the best physical therapy site of I've been to. The clinicians are highly qualified and insightful. They played close attention to the source of pain, the source of weakness, the reason why I am attending physical therapy. In 2019 I returned to Sloane Stecker after 2018 spine surgery and a relapse, hospitalization and stay at rehab. I received physical therapy and during the pandemic I received virtual physical therapy, which was excellent. I've been in physical therapy since then until now in 2025. I found in 2024 my pain was not resolved. I had major spine surgery in September 2024. The expert clinicians at Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square prepared me for my surgery prior. I went in for surgery and then returned to Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square for rehabilitation and I have been there since. My pain from spinal stenosis is resolved and my clinicians, Dr. Grace Kim, DPT, Dr. Devon Merino, DPT and Dr. Kevin Wong, DPT have greatly helped me working on my strength, balance, and endurance. I began with Dr. Grace Kim, DPT 2 months after major spine surgery. She was very thorough but careful. I was hopeful to go overseas to visit my three young grandsons and asked if she might prepare me for the trip. She cautiously watched my progress in therapy and made no promises. I could only respect that, and do the work! I got stronger. We began in November 2024. On January 17, 2025 I boarded a jet for Spain. I returned to the U. S. March 21st and to Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square April 8th. Dr. Devin Marino, DPT evaluated my conditions. There were eval questions and diagnostic tests. The studio has state of the art equipment in-house and they even have some fun and challenging games which build motor skills. Working there is a thrill, and I always feel I am getting stronger and more able when I've been there for my sessions.  Devin assigned me to Dr. Kevin Wong, DPT. I began working with Dr. Kevin Wong, DPT right away after returning from my vacation.  He's always been very attentive to my particular needs.  He's aware that I am working to reacquire balance and strength when walking since major spine surgery.  Kevin gives me specialized strengthening exercises to make my legs stronger and make me more stable on my feet and more confident when I am walking.  He encourages me to work hard in our sessions to improve my health and wellbeing.  He's my cheerleader.  I highly recommend Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square, Dr. Grace Kim DPT, Dr. Devon Merino, DPT, and Dr. Kevin Wong DPT to work with as physical therapists.  You will be in safe hands and in a safe place to get better and stronger while you are healing.  There is no place better. read more

If you are looking for a PT in NYC, you have to go to Sloane Stecker... and more specifically, you have to see Joe Giacomo. I cannot recommend Joe and this team of world class therapists highly enough. I first saw Joe after a knee surgery, and I can confidently say I wouldn't be where I am today without Joe's expertise and passion for getting patients healthy and active. Joe also introduced me to TECAR therapy, which is just another example of Joe bringing cutting-edge treatments to his patients and finding the best and quickest path to recovery. (TECAR is a miracle worker btw) Beyond that, Joe utilizes a wide-array of equipment (Alter-G, Kineo, Desmotec, etc..) to tailor each session to progressing a little bit each day, and it works! Long story short, I got really lucky to have found Joe, and hopefully you'll be lucky enough to read this review and go see him yourself. I've been to a number of different physical therapy offices with a variety of therapists. Alas, not all therapy is created equal. For my most recent round of PT to address chronic shoulder pain due to arthritis, I chose Sloane Stecker Lincoln Square. My first reason was its proximity to my home AND the fact that my therapy would be completely covered by my health insurance. My first visit was a revelation! The facility is open, light, bright, modern, and offers spectacular views of the Upper West Side from the 15th floor. I was very impressed. Things got better when I met my DPT, Daniel Yacar, who welcomed me warmly, did a diagnostic exam, asked questions, and helped me understand how PT could help reduce--perhaps even alleviate my pain. We worked together in an exam room, then moved to the shared gym for assessment and orientation. I had my second appointment today, which was surprisingly fun and uplifting. Daniel is a good listener, understands my issues, and has created a plan to help me achieve my goals. He's also sent me an exercise plan with photos and details so I can continue to work on my shoulder at home. The most important (to me) way that Daniel and Sloane Stecker differ from the other PT facilities I've used before is that Dan stays with me during the entire time of my appointment (45 minutes) as I so the exercises he's planned for me. He is attentive to my posture, form, and stance so I can get the most out of the workout without experiencing unnecessary pain or discomfort. In other places, I would be assigned exercises to do on my own until a timer went off. Then another PT would come and set me up for something else. It didn't feel like I was getting the benefits I feel I'm getting from someone like Dan who follows me, corrects me, adjusts tension, etc. BRAVISSIMO to Dan and to Sloane Stecker for helping me get better. This is my second time at Sloane Stecker located at Lincoln Center. The first time I would have given them a five star rating. What made them stand out was their location, the time they spent with their clients, the interaction with their customer service, the ease of payment and scheduling appointments. Now I find there is a marked difference in the services I have just described. Something has changed in their management and operations. It has nothing to do with the physical therapists. I worked with Enrico and Anthony, both very knowledgeable, who treated their clients with the utmost respect and professionalism. I am sorry to say that the next time I am faced with choosing a place to have my physical therapy done, I will think long and hard before choosing or recommending Sloane Stecker again. read more

This facility was on the Hospital for Special Surgery 's list of recommendations and it was in a good location for me. I had read many excellent reviews and they were well deserved. The space is full of light and very clean. There are a number of private rooms as well as a decent size gym with plenty of machines. The staff members are friendly and helpful. There is a welcoming atmosphere. My PT was a lovely, smart young man named Enrico who was a good listener and had me feeling better in no time. He is well trained as well as creative and kind. Tried to make an appointment. Took about 10 minutes including insurance ID number, only to be told, at the last minute, that they don't have any appointments available. I was told I could try back in a few weeks. When I asked for other NYC locations, they don't have any - other locations are West Chester and Florida. So, why did I need to give them all my personal information including my insurance ID number and then tell me they didn't have availability?? Really disappointing. read more

I have been to four different Physical Therapists over the years. Sloane Stecker is by far the best. Eva Shi is my therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable and motivating. I have made tremendous progress, more than I thought possible in two months. The facility is spotless clean and the equipment is state of the art. She is excellent at listening to what you think that you need, explains what she is doing to repair whatever part of your body that she's working on and has a outgoing, positive demeanor. I am a Sloane Stecker patient for multiple issues for my degenerative disc issues in my back, herniated disc in my neck and recent knee surgery. I have been going to Physical Therapy for many years before I found Sloane Stecker due to my degenerative disc disease, recovery from spinal fusion, knee surgery and shoulder surgery. no PT centers were ever like Sloane Stecker which is in a completely different category. There are two types of physical therapy places: cookie cutter (where the primary therapist gives you only 10 -15minutes to evaluate, little hands on work, manipulation, has you do exercise on your own, turns you over to an intern) and then there are incredible collaborative physical therapy places like Sloane Stecker that actually treat you like a person and really do make you better. After experiencing Sloane Stecker I will never go back to cookie cutter type of PT centers. Sloane Stecker is fantastic. I have had a few different PT therapists there due to my injuries and all were great. In particular I am now with Melissa, who is fantastic. For once in my lifetime, I actually look forward to going to physical therapy (vs. telling people I am going to my pain and trauma session :-). First she listens to what is going on with my body, thenshe gets the knots loosened by massage, manipulation, then walks me through a series of exercise and supervises them herself, prescribes exercises for me to do at home (another plus of Sloane Stecker, they are high tech/digital so they send you online PDFs of the exercises) All the while with a great pleasant manner and sense of humor. The entire staff is great, warm, welcoming, helpful. They are especially responsive to iompletely handling nsurance questions, scheduling, and payment. The facility is very high tech and has the latest machines (Alter-G treadmill, balancing surfboards, pilates reformer, all the latest pully gym equipment) to help you with your recovery and exercise programs. It also helps to have floor to ceiling windows and a wonderful view vs. being stuck in a dungeon while you exercise What matters are the results: - the pain cause by a herniated disc in my neck has virtually disappeared due to Melissa's hands on treatment and her prescription of home exercises. I now no longer need surgery for that issue - the lower back issue has so dramatically improved that I no longer do cortisone shots or pain management medicine (which his not healthy for you.) As long as I stick to the home exercise program and go weekly to PT, I barely feel the pain unless I do something stupid (like lift luggage or go to three music festivals in a row and dance my head off.) If you are an athlete, runner or kind of active person, Sloane Stecker is the best PT place to go to. Bottom line what they do works, if you work with them collaboratively,they will make you better and help you get back to living your life. read more

Sloane and Pooja are amazing, fun and easy to talk to, and fantastic physical therapists. Not only are they super stellar but the technology this place has to work with is insane. They can hook you up to sensors to analyze your gait, have a gravity treadmill (it's like straight-from-NASA-literally-out-of-this-world stuff) and a million other tools to work with. I've been to a lot of physical therapy centers, and this is by far the best. Convenient location, beautiful offices, helpful and nice front desk staff, good equipment, and most importantly excellent physical therapists. I've worked with several therapists there, all of whom were great, but Nic was the person I worked with for longest. I went to him for rehab after hip surgery, and he helped me even more than the surgery itself. Knowledgeable, professional, and actually fun to work with. He helped me through several setbacks and actually got me running again after 25 years.
