Will never use Sloan Appliance Service. We have a Frigidaire refrigerator that was two years old and the alarm was going off as if the door was open. We contacted Frigidaire and they stated we had to use Sloan for the warranty work. Called Sloan stated what was going on and that it was through Frigidaire warranty. It took a couple of weeks to come out and look at. After diagnosing the issue they stated it would take 4 weeks for a part to come in. I never heard from them and when we called that stated they didn't order the part. I had to call another appliance company to repair my refrigerator. Sloan is now billing me a service call because they state it was not under warranty and they didn't work with Frigidaire on the matter. read more

Our refigerator's fan stopped working and so air didn't circulate to the top of the unit. We called for a repairman on May 21. with the holiday weekend ahead couldn't get an appoinment until May 26. They cancelled that to reschedule for May 27. Repairman finally shows and takes under 10 minutes to repair. Charges $622. Fan motor runs from $25-$165 on-line. (part # WP2315549) No other parts used. No coolant added. No light bulps replaced. No furthter comment neccessary! read more

He opened the door and stuck his hand inside washing machine at the drum and try to lift it and pull it forward. I told him to stop that that's not how you do it I had to tell him how to get it forward. That man it's not professional. No clue what he's doing. This company is through my warranty company. My washing machine went out and they were the ones to come and fix it. My first appt, I was disappointed because it was cancelled and I was not notified. 2nd appt scheduled, Sherrod came and diagnosed the issue. The part had to be ordered, and he came to day to fix it and we are back in action. Sherrod was nice and respectful and did his job very well. We spent $700 months to have our dishwasher "fixed". A month and a half later it was doing exactly the same thing. Still had to pay $150 diagnostic visit and a different technician was assigned. The technician basically had no idea what he was doing and spent most of the time on the phone and outside at his vehicle. When he went to put our dishwasher back together, he did so incorrectly so now we can't even close our dishwasher. Basically said in the end it was a problem completely unrelated to the first one that they fixed, even though the dishwasher was doing the exact same thing. So we decided to just buy another dishwasher instead of paying another $300 to attempt what the technician thinks could be the problem. read more

Awful. Avoid this company. They have canceled 2 scheduled appts despite me taking the days off for an 8 am to 5 pm window time frame. Both times, they called me last minute and rescheduled me a week and a half out. The warranty company sent me to them as the only option, but I've been 3 weeks without a dryer now and will pay someone else to fix it. This is their tactic to avoid providing the warranty service. They argued that I was out of warranty, too, even though I'm still covered and had provided all the info when I set up the first appointment. They made me resend proof of everything, and when I did, they said they would still have to verify I registered the dryer ( which I had already done). The dryer is less than a year old and has a 1 year manufacturer warranty, and the proof of purchase shows this. They are just giving the runaround so they don't have to come fix it. read more

We were having issues with our oven, and I brought the control board to Sloan Appliance to ask them to inspect it for defects. Both individuals that assisted me were extremely helpful! The control board was carefully inspected while I waited, and when they didn't discover any issues, they took their time to review the schematics of my oven with me. They recommended several potential causes for the issues we were having, and they patiently explained what I needed to do to inspect the parts. They provided quotes for the parts I would need, and explained their troubleshooting and repair services fees if I were to need them. Great experience overall. Sloan Appliance Service: A Nightmare Experience I regret choosing Sloan Appliance Service to fix my dishwasher. It has been a nightmare experience that has cost me nearly $500 and left me with the same problem. My dishwasher still does not drain water and shows the same error code. The first technician who came to my house did not listen to me at all. I told him I wanted to replace the dishwasher, but he convinced me that repairing it would be cheaper. He was wrong. By the third visit, I was charged $365 to replace a sensor in my two-year-old dishwasher. That, combined with the initial service call of $115, is almost the same price as buying a new one at Lowe's ($550). He also charged me full price for his time, even though the first visit was useless. Sloan did not tell me anything about the part they ordered or how much it would cost. I only found out while they were installing it and it did not work. Sloan's customer service has been horrible. They have been rude, unresponsive, and dishonest. They have overcharged me for parts and services that did not fix my problem. A customer is unable to speak to a manager at Sloan, as he "does not talk on the phone". Do yourself a favor and avoid Sloan Appliance Service. They are not reliable, not professional, and not worth your money. read more

On December 31, 2024 my elderly mother's Lowes Protection Plan used Sloan Appliance Service to repair her washer machine. After they canceled three apponitments in a row and scheduled a fourth a month out we elevated the complaint to Lowes. Lowes issued us a Lowes refund card toward a new washer. Beware because this company cannot keep a commitment and will not even listen to your concerns. This experience definitely hurts Lowes reputation. I mark all 0' s when I rate this company. I rearranged my schedule three times in order to meet their repairman at my mother's home and they always canceled the appointment. We finally got my mom's new replacement washer February 13, 2025 no thanks to Sloan Appliance Repair. Think they need to repair their customer service/technical support! read more

Sloane gave me an appointment through Whirlpool and said they could come out on a Monday. Then said my brand new refrigerator was two year old (one month with purchase from Lowe's) they moved my appointment to Thursday and cancelled without my knowledge. I would not trust this company. read more

Sloan first came out for a Lowe's warranty repair on our 5 month old Maytag washer. The tech clearly wasn't a people person and I had to pry information out of him about the situation, I felt uncomfortable in general. He said a bolt had come loose and he replaced it. Two weeks later the same problem happened which was VERY irritating. For the second call out we had a different tech, Drew, who immediately introduced himself and had an overall pleasant demeanor. He answered all questions and then some. Within the hour the machine was working again. I'd give 5 stars if Sloan had been more expedient with getting a tech out here since it was their tech who originally didn't fix the issue only two weeks ago. Washing machine Not repaired. Horrible! 3 techs came out. First tech said I needed a new part for my washing machine, and it was ordered. Took several weeks for part to arrive. Second tech came, and it was the wrong part. New part took 3 weeks to arrive. Third tech came, and did Not replace the part. Asked me to do a load with 6 large towels (much larger load than I usually do). Left without speaking with me. Washing machine still wasn't working properly. I called Sloan, and had to start an entire new ticket with Assurant, even though machine was never fixed. I called the day the tech was scheduled to come, and I was told that I would have to pay for another tech (even though I have a warranty) to come out. I asked if the part was replaced, and the woman couldn't tell me. Said notes stated I over load my machine. Completely contradicting what the first 2 techs said. 2 months of this nonsense I asked for another company to come out. The second appliance repair company came, and diagnosed 3 parts that need to be replaced, and said no parts had been replaced by Sloan. New company ordered parts, and they arrived at my house 2 days later. They scheduled to come, and finish the repair 2 days after. So within a week the Second company came, ordered, and replaced 3 parts repairing my washing machine. Sloan Appliance is a Scam. Keep sending technicians out to collect the money from the warranty company, and then try to get the customer to pay. Do Not Use Them! read more

I cannot rate any stars for Sloan Application Services but they make you have to choose one or you cannot post the review. They are HORRIBLE. On two (2) request I've been asked to sit around my home for a three (3) hour window on Dec. 14, 2023 and again on Dec. 19, 2023 and the tech is a "No Show" on both days for the allotted windows. I scheduled a warranty repair through Lowes on a whirlpool washer for 7/25/23. My wife arranged her schedule to be there. The guy shows up and tells my wife that he drove a truck with NO PARTS OR TOOLS on it. Bare in mind he drove 40 miles before realizing this. When I complained to Sloan, Samantha told me the best they could do is to come back in 2 days. The parts and tools were in another truck but they refused to have him go get them and come back. They showed a COMPLETE lack of concern for the customer. The manager called me and gave me a long song and dance about what happened. Needless to say, I am still waiting for repairs. read more

My front load Frigidaire washing machine broke. After manually pulling out the pump for replacement I contacted this company for a replacement part. The initial conversation told me that I could bring it in and they'd see if they could replace it after I'd already given them a part number. Upon arrival I went through the same phone conversation because they had a banner saying the parts desk was "down." So a rep came outside to tell me they no longer were selling parts to customers. I suppose they meant "retail customers" but who is to say. A poor experience in a time where every sale should count. read more

Whatever you do, never use Sloan Appliance Service. I booked a repair appt with Maytag at their 800# on the Maytag website. Maytag said they could do the repair on Monday between 8 & 12. Nobody ever showed up so I went back to my CONFIRMATION email and it clearly listed Sloan Appliance Service w/phone #. I called that number to see why they were a no show and the customer service rep said sorry they couldn't get to me until next Friday. I called Maytag back and they said they could set with another company for Wednesday. As soon as I got that confirmation, I called them and confirmed with them that they are in fact able to come on Wednesday. One more thing about Sloan, I asked if I accepted their appt for next Friday could they send me a confirmation & she said oh, we don't do that until the day before. read more

I initially gave Sloan Appliance a good rating but have since changed my opinion; they came out promptly on September 22, 2022 because my 7 year old Whirlpool refrigerator had a clogged drain, the freezer was freezing up and water from the defrost cycle was leaking on the floor; repairman cleaned the drain, removed the ice accumulation and told me I needed a new gasket for the freezer compartment; part was ordered and replaced the following week; it is noted the repair technician had to adjust the freezer door when he returned because he hadn't reinstalled it properly and it was making a grinding noise when he replaced it on his first visit; total cost was $400; I had really struggled with the decision to replace the refrigerator or fix it but I chose to gamble and fix it; Poor choice! Less than 90 days later, I had the same problem! Drain line was clogged again, freezer was icing up and the fan was making a loud noise from the ice; a call to Sloan advised they will charge another $100 service call because their work is warranted for only 30 days; and I would have a ten day wait period for service! Nope, I'm done! Just threw away $400! I bought a new refrigerator with 5 year warranty from Lowe's; won't recommend Sloans again! read more

Fast forward to this Monday and they called me 4 hours before they were supposed to be here. I had to take PTO to be here for them and they cancel on me?! For several years my wife and I have used Sloan Appliances for repairs on our GE appliances and we have always been pleased with their professionalism and quality of service. Most recently, our 20-year old GE refrigerator began giving us problems. Because of the complexity of the issue, Sloan's Field Service Manager, Ben Creel, came to our home to complete the service. From the beginning, I was impressed with Ben's knowledge, commitment to resolving the problem, and his overall customer-service relations. The problem kept re-occurring over several weeks and Ben diligently returned each time to try new approaches to fixing it. Ultimately, however, in consultation with GE officials, Ben determined that the problem was age-related and could not be permanently repaired. He was then extremely helpful in advising GE Assurant (with whom the refrigerator was under warranty) of the situation and assisting us to get a reasonable insurance settlement. Ben Creel is an outstanding representative for Sloan Appliance Service. He is the epitome of professionalism in every respect. read more

I have only heard pleasant things about Sloan, yet the two times I have enlisted their help, I have been incredibly disappointed. After waiting weeks for an appointment, a service member showed up, took approximately 5 seconds to say, "Oh, I can't fix that," then charged me a full diagnostic fee and left. The second attempt just recently resulted again in a long wait time for an appointment, which was scheduled via automated messaging. When I called the office to request my service be in the afternoon instead of the morning of the scheduled date, I was told they could not accommodate and it would be another week. The customer service was unhelpful and did nothing to assist me. I've tried twice, but I will not be contacting Sloan again for any appliance help. read more

If I could rate "no stars," I would. Beware of this company and their business and repair tactics! The washer door seal split on my washing machine. Sloan assigned a tech who came and after taking the washer apart, replaced the door seal. When he left, I started a load. The washer made a loud rumbling noise which could be heard throughout the house. I called and the tech was sent back. MInd you, before he "repaired" the washer there was no noise whatsoever. He has been back on several occasions, once he adjusted the feet at the bottom but still had the noise, another time, one of the weights that he removed to replace the seal wasn't tightened, another time, he said the "tensioner" (I think that's what it's called needed replacing. I paid for that even though I didn't think it needed repair before he took the machine apart, another time, he did nothing to the washer, but said that he was sent to diagnose but wasn't to tell me what the problem was or quote me a price for the repair; just to diagnose and report back to them. Still no resolution. The machine can be heard throughout the house, just not quite as loud as before. But still I reminded him that there was no noise before his "repair." This has been going on since Feb 2024, with appointments, diagnosing, still making noise, no resolution. The last time the tech came out he said I needed a new drum. How did we go from no problem except split door seal, to needing a new drum. I don't know what he did to the washer, but it was fine before the "repair." The office manager, Tracy, told me that "they (Sloan) didn't want to go down that rabbit hole because every time they fix one thing another happens." I told her that there was nothing wrong sans the split seal before their tech "repaired" the washer. Now it's rumbling during the spin cycle which wasn't happening before the "repair." Tracy advised that they were going to refund what I paid for the repair minus the service call charge and be done with this. I asked how they could be done when my washer is broken due to the "repair" their tech made. She apologized and said that the check will arrive within the week. I told her that I don't want the check, I want my washer fixed. She continued to apologize. I told her that they were wrong for how this is being handled. I inquired as to who "management" was. Sher responded Chris. I asked if he was aware and she said that this was a management decision. I have used them in the past with no problems, but I don't know what's happened. I heard they have new owners. Clearly, Sloan doesn't care about excellent service or the customer. How can they damage my property, then refuse to repair it? I am not going to give up though because there was nothing wrong before the tech took the washer apart. By the way, he doesn't work for them any longer. Not right at all what they are trying to do! A refund is unacceptable. How about repairing the damage done? So, here's my advice to anyone considering them for repair. GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR SERVICE/REPAIR NEED OR YOU MAY ENCOUNTER THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS I HAVE! Read their other reviews. This seems to be a recurring experience with them. read more

I' had Frank is my repair person. He was professional wiped his feet at the door which is a big deal to me. He listened to me patiently and didn't just decide that there wasn't anything wrong. He said he would check everything . He found a problem with shift agitator which was defective and right there!!! He went above and beyond and explained how the problem happened. I only had the machine about 7 months so this was unusual. They were great about notifying me when they were coming when the appointment was set up I would truly recommend these people they are courteous efficient and know their job. Booked an appointment on-line for a technician to come repair a dishwasher at our residence in Irmo several days in advance. Got both phone and e-mail confirmation that the technician would be there today between 2 and 5 pm. He never called or showed up. When I called Sloan to ask where he was they said my appointment apparently got "cancelled by mistake". Really? How do you do that? Nice advert and website, but ZERO customer service. I have had nothing but problems with Sloan appliance on warranty issue work. They came out the first time to look at it defined out what parts need to be repaired. It took over two months before the parts came in and schedule service visit. When they came out to replace them they found out they ordered one of the parts incorrectly and it was the wrong part. Service call 95.00 (fine), final bill 301.00. no tools required, repair man was here less than 10 mins, pressed gasket into place, 200.00 labor. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!
