They did a great job repairing my Dyson vac at a reasonable price. They were fast too.

Called to see if they worked on Shark vacuum cleaners. My vacuum cord is frayed in three places from always curling around the handle holders when done vacuuming. The guy asked me how old the vacuum was and I told him 4-6 years, didn't really know. He said it's time to get a new vacuum cleaner. Shark's only last about 4 years. I told him it's just the cord I needed to replace. He said Shark doesn't sell many parts and couldn't work on it. So I called another store, not knowing there were two of these stores. This guy says "Yeh, we can fix Sharks...call the Forest Drive store. I told him that's who I already called. He said he'd call the Forest Drive store. So I called back and the guy now said bring it in and he'd look at it. He'd fix it if he could get the part. I took it to him and he looked at it and said he'd "TRY" to fix it but if he couldn't he'd let me know before he started because he didn't want to damage anything on the vacuum and didn't want the responsibility of breaking it. So I left it with him. He said he'd get it done in a week and call me when ready. I'd not heard from him after about 13 days so I called to see about the status. He said "We can't fix it and I left you a voicemail." I had no voicemail at all on my mobile phone. I told him I'd come down and pick it up. When I went in to get it he pulled off the vacuum canister front and said "See here, this plastic area...all these tabs will break off and I don't want to break the machine getting cover off, so I can't fix it". I took it Vacuum Center in West Columbia and they said "no problem...left it with them and they said it'd be ready in about 4 days". Will not step foot in this place again, and from some of the reviews it looks like a lot of folks have had issues. read more

I have used this company for years with various vacuums and air purifiers. I have found them to be excellent for my repairs.

They also do lamp retiring. We took a lamp in and waited and waited. Finally we went in to ask about the lamp in person. It turns out they broke the lamp. Run away from this place. read more

I would not recommend you go here to get your sewing machine fixed. They told me it would take 3 weeks but now it's been 4 months and it's still not ready... worst customer service too. Whenever I call to see if it's ready they say they'll call me back and let me know. But they never call me back. read more

I really wish I could leave a good review. Christopher had worked on my a sewing machine for me a year or two ago and all was good. This visit, however, was a completely different story. First, let me point out that this review does not reflect on the technical aptitude of the repair person, but everything about customer service and business acumen. First point: a good business may sometimes need to simply admit to the customer that they are unable to provide the service required. If parts are unavailable, they are unavailable. Keeping a unit for months without resolution is just not good business practice. The biggest issue was the total lack of knowledge from staffers about what was going on within the business. I called several times during the four-month period to check on status of my repair. Information and phone calls were promised but never returned. The left hand didn't seem to know what the right hand was doing. At times they seemed not to know where my unit was -- east or west location or in transit between the two? I couldn't keep up with the names of the various folks I talked to...seemed to be a lot of staff rotation. After four months, I finally could not wait any longer and had to pick up the unit without the repairs. I talked to a staff person, explained the situation, and let him know when I would be there. He assured me he had the unit "right up front." When we arrived, the staff person (different one of course) could not locate the unit. After poking around awhile in the back, it was located. I was shocked it was so dirty...enough that my husband even noticed and had to ask the clerk to clean it off. It just boils down to a lack of customer service. Not that anyone was impolite or rude...they just didn't seem to know what was going on. read more

The "etc" in Vacuums Etc stands for a number of things- including rewiring! I had them rewire a light fixture for me. Not only did they do it quickly (finished within hours after dropping it off) but the cost was super reasonable. I only wish I'd known about this sooner... I used another business to rewire a number of other fixtures. Not only did they take forever, but they charged me significantly more than initially quoted. read more

If only there was a way to rate this business with zero stars.... I dropped off my Hoover Platinum steam cleaner nearly a year ago that was under a full warranty to Christopher Nash, owner of Vacuums Etc. After calling him numerous times and listening to him bash Hoover and this machine specifically (all while trying to sell me something, in spite of me telling him I was not interested), he kept putting me off and telling me that Hoover was taking a long time. He eventually told me I already picked up the steam cleaner. I had not. He said he had video surveillance of me picking it up, his employee remembered me and my vehicle specifically, and he had a form that I signed when I picked it up. After reporting him to both Consumer Affairs (who he claims dropped our case, but we have not received any notification of that and we have plenty of evidence and documentation to support our case) and the BBB (who he is not even REGISTERED with, by the way, nor does he have a good score - check it out), he has yet to turn over ANY evidence that I picked up the machine. I still have the claim ticket with the Vaccums Etc. stamp on it. I provided this to Hoover and reported him to them. Hoover sent me a brand new machine immediately and an apology for Mr. Nash's lack of professionalism. They are now investigating him. To make matters worse, I was 9 months pregnant when I dropped off this machine. Who STEALS from a pregnant woman? He either lost it, sold it to someone else, or gave it away to someone without a claim ticket. Imagine if something like that happened to you...do not do business with this guy. I have never dealt with anyone this dishonest or downright sleazy in my life. He keeps trying to say that I "abused" the machine and he was doing me some kind of favor by taking it at all, but last time I checked fulfilling a warranty is just his job. Christopher Nash will inevitably reply to this with some sort of argument, but consider the source: He sells vacuum cleaners and I'm a college professor with absolutely no criminal history, legal history, or reason to waste a year of my life lying about this. read more

I would not do business with them again, and cannot, in good consciousness, recommend them to any one else. I purchased a vac over eBay. It was advertised as completely serviced and "like new" (except for some cosmetic blemishes, which I was OK with). We had a local service tech look the unit over and he showed my wife the filthy motor (a result of the previous owner running the vac without any sort of filter) and two broken mounts that hold the motor in. There was also a loose screw rolling around inside, and the power switch was backwards. My wife was there from the moment the tech arrived until he left, watching everything happen in real time. In short, the tech recommended replacing the motor and we agreed (based on the layer of dirt visible on the motor). Rather than address the actual issues, the person from Vacuums Etc with whom I had email contact in this ordeal repeatedly and systematically belittled the service tech and the company he works for in my local area. He also spoke to me repeatedly as though I were naive and easily swindled (I have two masters degrees and am a mid-level manager of a large corporation - I'm not completely stupid). Furthermore, he tried to offer a 50% refund of the cost to replace the motor, which he termed "bogus charges," IF I WOULD LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW ON EBAY. He didn't care about providing customer service, he was trying to buy a review. Shipping a unit in unsatisfactory condition: -1 star. Trying to divert the issue by belittling others in an effort to save face: -1 star. Horrid customer service and disrespectful communication: -1 star. Unethically trying to buy a positive review without earning one: -1 star. I could add a couple other things that left a negative feeling with this whole experience, but they've already lost 4 stars and Yelp won't let me go below that. Bottom line: Buyer beware. My wife is happy with the unit, now that it's been serviced, but the headaches associated with dealing with this company weren't worth it. We could have got a similar product from someone else. read more

My experience with Vacuum Etc was great- very professional and they were very up front and honest about which parts i would need to purchase. I had an central system and couldn't figure out which part was bad. Everyone I spoke with was professional and made sure I had the correct information I needed. read more

Absolutely horrible. They kept my vacuum for 6 months, I called regularly and every time I was told it would be ready tomorrow. I left multiple messages with staff and never received a call back. When I finally had enough I went to pick it up, it was missing parts. Will not return, would not recommend. read more
