I brought my car in for an oil change after my cross-country move to Lawrence a month or so ago. When I was leaving, I told them they could look it over to see if any other work needed to be done and that, if the air filter looked bad, I'd be more than willing to replace it. I mentioned that specifically because we replaced it about a month ago. They said our air filter looked brand new and that everything else was totally in order (we got the car souped up, $600 with my old mechanic, right before the trip so this doesn't surprise me at all). Test passed!! Oil change for my Chevy sonic was ~$60. They don't have an area to wait or anything which is no big deal if you can have someone take you somewhere else (like a coffee place on Mass) or walk yourself (it's less than a mile). It's not the best area to walk through because of the high traffic. I understand that because they are so small a sitting room might seem silly. They also really liked having a lot of time (like a few hours for an oil change scheduled days in advance) so you wouldn't want to sit their anyways. Their parking lot is difficult to navigate because they have so many cars just kind of there. I think I don't understand why because I'm not a car person. All I know is, I was terrified of hitting something because they are so close together. Basically, cosmetic/convenience issues but a mechanic with integrity will always get at least 4 from me because they can be so hard to come by.

My truck was blowing hot, and I assumed I had a ac line leak. They told me there wasn't a leak, just the control panel needing replaced. They charged $350 to do this, and when I got the truck back it didn't blow at all. They continued by putting 3 or 4 new control panels in, and in the end said they finally fixed it, but now there was a leak and needed another $530 to fix it. I ONLY agreed to continue because they confirmed the truck was blowing properly now. I took it home and it's not blowing at all again. I went in today and they now say it's likely not the control panel at all, but they only agreed to refund $335 dollars or leave the truck with them again after being argumentative and treating me like an idiot. My issue is simply the fact they tried the control panel multiple times, never fixed the blowing issue, lied and said they did so I'd spend another $530 to fix the leak, and now they say it's not the control panel at all. My car entered Don's Auto Center on January with a stalling issue. It is now June, and after they charged me $2,529.47 and installed three separate fuel pumps, my vehicle is in the exact same inoperable state it was in five months ago. They were about to install a fourth consecutive pump onto the car rather than admitting they couldn't properly diagnose the underlying issue. Enough is Enough. Their business practices are completely untrustworthy. On one of the stalling occasion, my check engine light came back on immediately after a "repair." I scanned it myself and found the exact same fuel pump codes. When I brought it back, the technician pulled up a circuit code and explicitly asked the manager, Joe, if he should clear the code (turn the check engine light off.) Joe told him yes. They completely gaslit me, claiming the light was just because my gas was low. I left, filled the tank, and the car violently stalled out in 4:00 PM traffic less than 20 minutes later, leaving me stranded and shaking while cars honked and swerved to avoid hitting me. As a woman, dealing with this establishment has been a nightmare. The gaslighting, the flat out dishonesty, the lack of responses when emailing or texting when I'm just trying to figure out what's going on with your vehicle is unsettling. How many fuel pumps should I allow them to put on my car? This fourth fuel pump was the last one in the world and then they were obsolete as what I was told. I asked them OK so if this one doesn't work then what? They said to take it up with GM dealer. Instead or admitting they were stumped and offering a refund, the General Manager, Ricky, officially banned me from the property, canceled my warranty, and refused to pay for a $105 out-of-pocket towing fee caused directly by their failed repair. When I safely removed my property from their lot and attempted to voice my experience, the GM immediately sent me aggressive legal threats via email to intimidate me into silence. I am refusing to be bullied. They took $2,529.47 of my money for a repair they could not successfully complete. Avoid this shop at all costs unless you want your time wasted, your money taken, and your safety put at risk. Everything I've said, I have actual proof and receipts of. If they respond in any kind of way to try to discredit it what I'm saying it's all a lie.

Not only is the staff polite and accommodating, but the service is second to none, efficient, and professional. Jimmy (may be the owner- he's always the guy I interact with) is always kind, knowledgeable, and patient when it comes to questions and needing something explained. Anytime friends ask for shop recommendations, I always refer them to K's! Also, it is probably important to mention that they gave me the lowest quote for new tires out of any of the shops in lawrence. Great dudes. Great service. Great shop. Go to K's!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE: The only thing this shop ever did right possibly was tires and brakes. I was a fool for continuing to take my vehicles there after several mishaps. When people show you who they are believe them the first time. I took my daughter's VW convertible there to get an alternator change. They CHANGED IT TWICE. Last week, the alternator gave out again within the time span that it was under warranty with the parts place advance auto. I no longer deal with K-Tire because of their incompetence so I took it somewhere else that shop found out that they use silicone and glue the connector into the alternator which is why it ultimately kept failing. GLUE AND SILICONE. Advance auto we're kind enough to reimburse me the labor and cost at the new shop $460 so that I wouldn't have to deal with K-Tire again. So we're very clear. This is not the first time that they have proved their work shotty and subpar. As you can see photos that I have attached here I paid $688 to have my daughter's heat fixed just to be told when I went to pick it up that the heat wasn't fixed and it needed a heater core, which was going to be another $1400. I'm not sure what I paid $688 for and I didn't even question it at the time. I think I was just concerned with the fact that it was gonna cost me another $1400 for her to have heat. I think you're able to test the heater core with the temperature gauge before you charge someone $688 to give them the same vehicle back that they brought in that didn't have heat. I PICKED UP THE SAME VEHICLE WITH NO HEAT THAT I TOOK THEM THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS I GAVE THEM $688 DOLLARS. Before that incident I brought the same car in to get her side view mirror assembly replaced. They broke the plastic part on assembly that held it on the vehicle. I went to pick it up, they had put a bolt through the broken plastic piece and the frame of my daughter's car. Not only did it look ridiculous. WHO GAVE THEM THE PERMISSION TO DRILL THROUGH THE FRAME OF MY VEHICLE? NO ONE!!!!!!!!!And if that wasn't enough when I went to drive off and I was trying to adjust the mirror it wouldn't work because they weren't even smart enough to plug it in when they put it on. They had to take it apart again just to plug it up. They then tried to say it was broken when I brought it in and I had taken pictures so it clearly showed that it wasn't and I ended up ordering the piece and they did put it on and reimburse me, but if I hadn't had proof, they have blamed me. Fast forward I've been in a nightmare with my car since January between this shop and the shop they took it to who was just as horrible Don's Auto Center don't take your car there either. I had a fuel pump issue with my vehicle. They put on a fuel pump module didn't work. Car ended up failing while I was on the highway going 70+mph on highway 59. It Failed than 30 minutes of me, picking it up from their shop. It actually failed more than once. They ended up reimbursing me for that failure of a repair. I took them to court. I couldn't believe how he sat in court and lied. One thing about me I keep immaculate notes and I keep a receipt everything I say I can prove. I won judgment against them. Save yourself the headache.
