Jodie is the sweetest, most helpful, angel I have ever encountered. If you come into this AutoZone and see her know you are in safe hands!

Unfortunately after three years and thousands of dollars Mccarthy Nissan has proven to be…read moreunreliable and lacking integrity. Each visit my vehicle is returned with the same unsolved issues that it was brought in for and was claimed never to have been found. It took until my car set itself on fire for them to even acknowledge my issue. Each visit my vehicle was there between 10-14 days and they never offer dealer vehicles or rentals so customers can resume standard daily activities, like going to work. They only repaired symptomatic parts and skirted around finding the root cause of my vehicles issue. I am disappointed to say that after my experiences with Mccarthy Nissan I will never be able to recommend, approve or support their service to any person.

McCarthy used to be helpful and efficient; that was about two or three years ago! Nine months ago,…read morethey installed a clutch with a 12-month warrantee. lol SURE! I was stranded in the middle of Iowa, heading to my Mother's funeral in Wisconsin when the clutch failed SUDDENLY. So on a weekend I called a tow, rented a car, had my clutch fixed over a week's time. Back home in Lawrence I thought I could finally get something good to happen at my Local Nissan Dealer, YOU KNOW THEM, RIGHT?, the SO FRIENDLY people when you are shopping for a car. THEY DO NOT CARE!!!! Evidently I was supposed to find a "Certified" Nissan place in the middle of Iowa. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I, my kids and parents all drive Nissans; I mean USED TO DRIVE NISSANS!!! The Service Manager was cold, uncaring, and rude.

Ive heard great things about Slimmers but all I can say is that I left incredibly disappointed…read more I brought my car in to see about getting the AC fixed, they told me I needed a new radiator and AC unit so I listened and paid 2k to fix it. When I got it back I was super happy because it took about 3 weeks and I needed it back. But immediately after I noticed a lot of HUGE issues, car wouldn't accelerate, wouldn't turn off, wouldn't lock or go into park. I had to get it towed in, and they said they'd take a look at it. The receptionist woman was very unfriendly on the phone and in person, which was shocking because most of their other staff seem very polite. When they had it they said they'd fix it in the next week and it took them about 3 more weeks to get it back to me. Then finally I get it back for the second time, and my door dont open from the outside. I emailed them and told them about this issue and I was not rude or anything but I felt like the email I received back was very unfriendly. When I told them about this they told me not to take it to them if I cant trust them with my vehicle, which seems redundant since they are the reason I dont trust them, when I obviously trusted them enough to bring it there and to give them the opportunity to fix whatever mistake was made. I am a young woman and honestly felt a little taken advantage of and or not taken seriously whatsoever. I also received a couple voicemails saying essentially they didn't know what they were doing and they'd never worked on this type of car before (Hyundai Sonata), so Im not sure what "trust" they expect when they treat their costumers like this. They seem to lack a lot of basic costumer service skills and knowledge. They deal with a huge part of peoples lives (their vehicle) and people are bound to be frustrated when stuff is wrong with their car, so if they dont know how to deal with that they just shouldn't.

At the end of her winter break, we noticed oil leaking, so to make it easier on all of us, we suggested she go to the Lawrence location, as she is going to school at KU. She took her car to the service department and was given a long list of things which needed to be repaired, some of which were oil gasket covers and spark plugs. She called my husband to call in to the service department to discuss which items would need to be fixed, none of which were shown to her or explained, but since we were out of town, we proceeded with a couple of repairs. That bill was approximately $1,000. A week after she had her car repaired, she came home, and we noticed there was still oil leaking, so we made another appointment for March 31st at 8:30 am. I drove the car from Kansas City to Lawrence and met with the service department rep. My daughter picked me up in another vehicle, and I left the facility. At approximately 12:30, I went back to check on the status of the car, and no one had taken a look at it, despite my appointment being at 8:30, and they knew I was staying in town to see what was wrong with it. I left again at that point, and about 20 minutes later, I received a call from the service department asking me to come back, so I left what I was doing to go back. At that point, he gave me a list of repairs that needed to be done totaling $3,300+, and one of them being the replacement of the oil pan, as it was cracked. I asked him questions about this and asked if this could have been what was wrong in the first place. He said he had no idea. Then I looked back at the documentation from the first time my daughter brought in the car, and it stated, "Customer says Oil Gaskets are Leaking." I can assure you no one in my family would have said that or known that would even be an issue. So I paid another bill of $190 to have someone "diagnose" the car, and I left without paying for any of the suggested repairs, as I feel as though I had been lied to and was not pleased with having to wait five hours past my appointment to have someone look at my car for the first time. I brought the car back to Kansas City and took it to our local mechanic. He did replace the oil pan, and I would bet that was why it was leaking in the first place. There is no documentation that anything was wrong with the gasket covers. No video or pictures, to my knowledge. He also informed me, when I asked about the other items on the list of suggested repairs, that we were being scammed.
