There were ample shrimps in the dish and the shrimps were seasoned well and tasty! Both the shrimps and the grits were exceptional quality. The grits were very creamy and again, seasoned well! The lemon was grilled which is a lovely touch and the scallions/sliced onions offered a touch of freshness and flavor. There was an abundance of grease in the dish which was the only evidence of any chorizo sausage. In accustomed to having andouille sausage in shrimp and grits and usually they are medallions, sliced like coins. Sometimes the sausage is diced and it's always seared. The sausage was absent. Day one I ate the shrimp and day two I cooked some andouille sausage we had, removed the grease from my leftovers, and had the grits with our andouille medallions. The grits were cheesy and creamy and really good and they did taste great with the addition of our sausage. I'm sure Tupelo Honey would have corrected the missing sausage had I been present at lunch. I was pleased with the quality of the ingredients, just disappointed the sausage was missing.

They were thick, juicy, perfectly fried, and honestly didn't need any dipping sauce or condiment at all. They're some of the best I've had. Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. The quality makes it clear they're cooking to order, so if you decide to visit, just be prepared to be patient. If someone asked me where to take an out-of-town guest for authentic Southern cooking, G's Country Kitchen would be at the top of my list. The food is homemade, comforting, and exactly what people imagine when they think of classic Southern cuisine. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was welcoming, and it's easy to see why G's Country Kitchen is a go-to spot for homestyle country cooking. We'll definitely be back.

Sweet Hubs got another to go order from here a week or so ago. The order was someone else's order…read more Hubs is generally non picky and he enjoyed the meals received. I was surprised he liked hot sauce on his eggs, for example, and he said he did, which is great because one dish came with extra hot sauce. I reheated the grits the following day and they were actually good! That was the highlight of this take out meal for me. I thought the gravy in one of the dishes was sausage gravy, because doesn't everyone in the south add sausage to their gravy? But, it was just plain gravy. Boo! The eggs were pretty dead looking the next day (not their fault, I know), so I didn't try any of them. The bacon was undercooked for my preference but could have been easily remedied by popping in the air fryer. That was more effort than I wanted to expend on salvaging these dishes. Hubs is a biscuit fan and he was happy to devour whatever I did not, and again, he had no complaints which is excellent! I am not a biscuit fan at all, I just can't make myself like biscuit-forward dishes. I'm not even a fan of potatoes, which were in several of the dishes. They appeared to be prepared well, just did not appeal to me.

There's ample parking and the restaurant was clean, airy, and open. You order at the counter here. While their focus is biscuits, they have other offerings like waffles, hash bowls, and even tacos. The service was very friendly though my food was a little slow to come out. In their defense, I think some folks from the corporate office were there assessing the place and they ordered almost everything lol. I had the hash bowl with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. I enjoyed the array of different goodies inside the bowl and the ingredients were balanced -- not too much of any particular item. The mushrooms were a little slimy and the eggs were a little hard for my preference but the potatoes were crispy and the chopped bacon was perfect. Oddly, despite the somewhat long wait for my food, the whole dish wasn't as hot as I'd have liked for it to be. It wasn't cold, just not piping. Overall, I had a pleasant time. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip just to come here, but it's a decent choice for quick service breakfast/lunch/brunch in the area.
