I first saw Slim Chicken about a year ago on a road trip. I finally decided to Google the chain to see what it was about. Honestly I wasn't motivated to try another chicken tender spot. But I stopped in anyway. I got the tenders and wings combo. I'd rate that meal a 3. The fries are good when hot. Eat then before they cool. The tenders were fresh but nothing special. They did a good job with the wings. I went back a week later because I got a $5 coupon after downloading the app. This time I got the Chicken Club Sandwich meal. The sandwich was very good (4.5 rating). What I'll say after visiting Slim Chickens is, it's not just another chicken tender spot. They have some interesting, non traditional menu items. read more

This is a follow up to my last review. Short story is that it's still bad. I really didn't know you could make chicken tenders that small. Two bites and you're done. More like nuggets. Totally different experience from what it was a couple of years ago. Now you get almost no chicken and not even as many fries as in the past. My advice is to try another option in Town Madison. read more

I went to Slim Chickens for lunch one day while in Huntsville. The location is very close to Redstone Arsenal if you are looking for a quick bite. When visiting at lunch, it was extremely busy and every spot in the parking lot was full. If you're in a rush, definitely order ahead online! I ordered the 3 piece chicken tender meal, which was really good, though the chicken could have been a little crispier. I liked the BBQ sauce, and there were a few different kinds of dipping sauce available depending on what you'd prefer. The fries were good, and I enjoyed the Texas toast as well. Despite it being busy, the food came out fairly quickly and the employees were all very nice. There's a covered patio to sit on in addition to the indoor seating area, so it was nice to sit outside on a nice day. read more

Still visiting Slims and still loving it. Two gripes I have though. 1. The lids on the 32oz keeper cup are worthless, they pretty much just fall off the cup immediately. 2. The app doesn't have a way to add a tip. I order on the app and do curbside pickup. I'd really like to leave them a tip as this is super convenient to me. Other than that it's awesome! read more

been a fan since they opened but last night I got the smallest chicken strips ever - the cost of a meal to get chicken strips that size was insulting . I got three meals I won't be back . with all the competition in the area for chicken especially recently with new additions I was several chains that are very popular to pay what you paid to eat there and to get what you get there's no possible way I would never go back to Slim Chickens. We loved it. I liked the Hot BBQ sauce. Not too spicy and not too sweet. Nice mix. I'm very picky when it comes to Buffalo sauce, but I liked theirs. It's worth a try. I like mixing the Buffalo and Bleu Cheese together for tenders and fries. Wife and daughter enjoyed their meals as well. The lemonade and tea was great! Big fans..especially of the lemonade. We've eaten at the Cullman location and it was good. My son and mother in law haven't eaten this so hubs and I took them here. I got the Buffalo chicken bowl, they got the chicken finger dinner and mother in law got the fried chicken club. It was all hot, fresh, tasty and lots of good food! Happy to know that Slim Chickens has added a second location to Madison! This new location is at the Town Madison development off Zierdt and Madison Boulevard near the Toyota Field. Slim Chickens has tasty fried chicken and sides. My favorite thing to get is their buffalo chicken wrap and chicken tenders. The fries are also really good. Definitely try some of their house made sauces too. They add a nice touch to the chicken. Don't let the long lines scare you away as the drive thru tends to move pretty quickly. They will remain busy just like everything else that's new in the Huntsville/Madison area until that newness wears off. There's a large parking lot if you decide to dine in as well as the drive thru has an efficient design so that it doesn't impede traffic. Such a convenient location right next to the stadium! The drive thru line was literally wrapped around the building, but it didn't take long at all to order and receive our food. With this being my first time trying out this place I can say I personally was not impressed with the taste of the food. I ordered the lemon pepper and honey barbecue wings and for some reason the lemon pepper had a sweet taste to it. At first I thought it was sweetness coming from the honey barbecue but the wings were not even touching for the taste to rub off like that so that was a big no for me! Oh my goodness! Ralph the General Manager was outstanding. Good service goes such a long way these days, and he truly made our dining experience worthwhile. I noticed his kindness while listening to him take the order of the folks in front of us in line, but as soon as he took our order- he was JUST as kind. He had a positive attitude, a wonderful sense of humor, made great recommendations and just truly stood out as a great human being. I was pleased to find out that he was the general manager, because it is encouraging to know he can lead his employees as a model and coach on what good hospitality means. I feel like I need another visit before I can give an accurate review. The tea was perfect: not too sweet. The person who took my order was very nice and helpful. The person who handed me my order wasn't personable at all: no eye contact, no smile, etc. This was at 2:39 in the afternoon so it wasn't busy so many they just got done with lunch rush and she may have been tired. This is right down the street from our house & our family has frequented at least 4 times. They are so good that there can be quite a line. We have loved everything from their buffalo Mac, to their jarred desserts. Their cranberry lemonade is something special, we even ordered several gallons for a birthday party. Myself, Wife, and Child have never been to a Slim Chickens in our lives, but when I saw employees of different chain bring in Slim Chickens to enjoy at their place of work, I knew we needed to try it. Today, we were glad we did. While the Chicken was great, fries were crisp, and my kid LOVED the Peach Tea, the best thing we experienced was the staff, mainly an individual named Brandon H. This gentleman was by far, the best, most polite, and helpful guy. Had my 2 year old laughing and smiling even though my kid wasn't feeling good (Difficulty Level: Impossible). He assisted with the menu, (which to corperate, could be better made for folks that have never been there!), recommended the BBQ wings which were pretty darn good, and successfully upsold a Reeses dessert that my wife enjoyed later on. Definitely worth trying if you've never been there. Given the location, it's right off a main road that would allow any visitor a quick trip to and from with little gap in time. The place was clean, seating was plentiful, and there wasn't a rushed feeling that some chains make you feel if you're there longer than 10 minutes. I have had Slim Chickens in the past and was not overly impressed (not this location). Today, I said what the hell and tried it out. First and foremost, great customer service. I was in and out in a matter of minutes. I tried the chicken club sandwich combo and oh my Lawd was it good. Do you lace the breading with crack or meth? Just kidding, it was that freaking addictive, not that I have ever tried crack or meth. I'm basing it off old reruns of COPS. I'm not even gonna ask what was on the fries because they were on point and didn't even need sauce. I give grace for delivery so my fries were ice cold and soggy, fine because you really roll the dice on delivery fries but I absolutely cannot make any exceptions for the chicken. Like chicken is in their name for goodness sake! Wings had zero and I mean ZERO flavor, skin was tough like they'd been boiled, honey bbq sauce had zero taste, chicken itself ain't seen a bit of seasoning. I'd given up finding a decent wing place in Huntsville. When I tried new or different places, they were disappointing, to say the least. The wings were tiny, overcooked, expensive or a combo of all three. Enter Slim Chickens, another chicken joint. Why would they stand out? They do! I have to pass Town Madison all the time, so I thought I'd give them a shot. These were the best wings I've had anywhere. They're meaty, juicy, tender and delicious. Honestly, I don't really know if I like this place or not. The first time, I LOVED it. The second visit, my club sandwich was completely inedible.
