This is the second time I've visited this Slim Chickens. My oldest asked me to take her here for a Daddy Daughter date. Oh my goodness... the jar desserts stole the show . We were debating on which jar dessert to try between the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Key Lime Pie jar dessert. But hey, it's a Daddy Daughter date so why not get both! Totally worth it. I guess I'd have to get another set of them before saying which one was better. The Slim Chickens mason jar added a special touch as well. I will say this visit was better than my previous visit in that the service was much better from the knowledgeable and friendly counter staff to her bringing the food to the table. The food was good, but not hot enough. The service was great and the lady taking our order was very kind. The restaurant was very empty w/ it just being us until we were about to leave. The atmosphere felt a little off because of how strangely empty it felt and looked. With that, there was only two or three cars that went through the drive thru during the time we were there. The food wasn't bad, but not great either. This was our first time eating at a Slim Chickens. Honestly the lady that took our order was very helpful and patient as we asked about the menu. The atmosphere was very relaxed, almost to a fault. While the lady who attended to us was wonderful, the other gentleman was not professional nor appropriately dressed. No one in the kitchen had hair nets, aprons, etc. It looked like they were in their back backyard, grilling in sweat pants and tennis shoes. Probably won't be back any time soon. read more

I wanted to try it...it wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible. Service was nice and fast. Place was clean. The strawberry cheesecake in the glass jar was different (and good). The chicken and presentation is all very similar to Zaxbys and Canes. Just a different spin. I'll eat here again to try the chicken and waffles. Chicken was not quite as good as Canes or Chik Fil A, but still good. Check it out at least once. Really I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. read more

Was excited to try this place for the first time. I wasn't disappointed at all. I ordered the chick plate. 3 good tenders, fries and garlic toast. Not bad. Decent. Kinda of like a Canes with much more options Spicy BBQ sauce and cayenne ranch sauce was spectacular Peach tea and raspberry lemonade is very good. Chocolate chip brownie was average. Here's my general rule of thumb: if you plan on opening a restaurant in an overly saturated genre; you better offer something either phenomenal tasting, or uniquely your own. Slim Chicken's, unfortunately, doesn't offer either. Another entry into the chicken finger market, Slim Chicken's is basically Raising Cane's with a different front facade and logo. That's honestly all you need to know. However, if you want a deeper dive, here you go: THE GOOD: The *chicken fingers* were the best part of the meal. Similar to Cane's in size and meatiness, and I'd wager to say even a little better breading and crunch. They came out hot, juicy, and delicious. With the four-piece, you get one *sauce*. I wanted to try a few others, so I spent 39¢ each to get two more. I had the honey mustard, sweet red chili, and spicy BBQ. All the sauces were good, and appeared to be made in house. This was where the good experiences basically ended. THE BAD: The *fries* definitely left something to be desired. They were lukewarm, not seasoned at all, and small. There were also a lot of fragments and crumb pieces. On top of that, you didn't really get all that many for paying a premium price. Dipping in the sauces made them a bit more tolerable, but they certainly didn't stand on their own. The *sweet tea* was also kind of just ok. It was a little weak, which is kind of normal for Ohio, but I had high hopes regardless. I ended up switching to a Diet Coke after drinking about half my sweet tea. THE UGLY: Their *toast*. I'm really, really hoping this was just a bad batch, and not their normal. It was a single piece of extremely thin Texas toast, cut into triangles. They were sandpaper dry, burnt, and the one piece had about a third of it missing. With Cane's having absolutely delicious toast, this might be the thing that sinks Slim's. OVERALL IMPRESSION: It was extremely *meh*. For $12+, I was definitely hoping for more. The chicken was pretty good, and everything else was pretty bad. I have zero desire to want to go back and give them another chance. I may try again at some point after a few months, seeing as they are still extremely new. Unfortunately I don't think this is one of those "let them iron the kinks out" situations. I think Slim's is just a mid restaurant. read more

We tried this around 4:30p to beat the rush, as they haven't been open yet long. The wait was minimal, and the service was friendly. You could tell they were still getting their bearings, but there were no issues. The fried pickles and Mushrooms were disappointing. The wings were ok, not great. The tenders and the Cajun Ranch Chicken Sandwich were very good. The sweet tea was good. The dining room is typical but nice and clean. Although chilly inside that day. The prices are high even when considering recent increases everywhere else. We'd eat there again out of convenience but it won't be on any regular rotation. read more

We were loyal Slim chickens fans-- easy and quick stop for delicious food on the way home from church every Sunday. Unfortunately, the past couple of weeks, the Canton, Ohio location has seriously gone downhill. First, two weeks ago, while eating his chicken club sandwich, my husband made a funny face and spit something out. Turns out it was a piece of paper/ food wrapping in his sandwich. Gross! Final straw might have been yesterday; my husband placed an order in the drive-thru and was asked to pull ahead to wait on food. After 25 minutes, no one was in sight. he went in and reported the issue and the staff said they forgot, and did not offer him as much as an apology for the incident. It truly is so unfortunate that these two experiences might prevent us from ever returning to this establishment. With that being said, their chicken and waffles were my absolute favorite! :( bums me out thinking I may never get them again. read more

Now that this restaurant has been officially established and open for some time, I will give my honest review of it. Overall Rating: 1 out of 5 Recommendation: Plenty of better options around the area than here. Food: The food is fine, but is not anything that stands out from its competition. Tenders are extremely salty, but otherwise sizeable (similar to Cane's if you dumped a can of salt on them). The fries are just middle of the ground. Nothing too special. The "toast" is a joke. Just soggy bread that tastes like it was vaguely in the same room as garlic. They have a bunch of different sauces, but I cannot comment on this as the one time Ive actually been able to get food, they forgot the sauce. I was going to try their sandwich today, but we will get to why that didnt happen. Service: Before I get into this, THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY. Or at least the drive thru people always have been. What sucks is the speed. We dont have time to wait 40 minutes for chicken tenders. At that point Ill just get my own bag of Tyson tenders and make them myself (and at least Ill get sauce that way too). So I suspect this is a matter of management or an issue with the process on how Slims prepares its food that creates the large wait time. It is one thing if the order is complicated, it is another thing to take that long on a simple 5 piece tender meal with no modifications. I have went here 3 times and only been able to get food once. This is mostly to do with the insane wait times (Im usually getting food on my break from work so I dont have time to wait that long for food) and once because of misleading hour postings (may potentially be a legitimate reason). In fact, I had the exact same issue just now, hense why Im writing a follow up review 2 or so months later. Slim Chicken, y'all have too much competition to be playing these games. We stopped in there for dinner. I went to the restroom the toilet won't flush.My wife ordered the girl followed my wife to the table with our food . Not made fresh . I got the bacon club sandwich. I took the bun off a sliver of bacon was on there.($2.00 extra) I took it up front showed it to the girl she agreed it was ridiculous. She took it to the kitchen I waited she came back with a different sandwich. I got to my table it had one extra sliver , no sauce and was ice cold. The GM was on break the girl told her I had a complaint she came over and said what do you want more bacon??? I said I don't want anything I won't be back. She said that's not what she wants ,she said I'm going to find out what was going on I'll be back. 15 minutes went by we went to leave I stopped and asked for her card . Another 8 minutes went by I started to leave another employee brought the card . We have been there several times and like the food usually. There are so many chicken places in Canton. This new chicken restaurant in Canton has something slightly different than the others. It has a slight bit more variety. It is in close proximity to multiple other chicken restaurants, however, they offer a few unique items, such as wraps, and different desserts. We attempted to go through the drive-through when we tried this restaurant. As it should be expected with a new restaurant, the line was very busy and we did have to wait a bit for food. The staff still appeared to be scrambling a little bit, but the wait wasn't too bad. We tried the BBQ chicken wrap and the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Both with their fries. I enjoyed the fries. The wrap sandwich was very thin. There was not a lot of meat in there or even fillers. That was a little disappointing to me. But the overall taste was pretty good. The buffalo chicken sandwich was good. This place definitely was not the worst, but not the best. read more

Whoa. What a long line 1 hour and ten minutes to be exact. Perhaps that should be expected on post go-live day. My 15 yo daughter had to have it. She's a chicken fan. I actually don't eat meat and ordered the fried pickles and fried mushrooms. Perhaps I blew someone's mind as mushroom and pickles held up the line behind me for 12 minutes after paying in drive through. Either way, if you are vegetarian, you may want to avoid the sides aforementioned as I probably received as much fried chicken as a 3 piece throughout the order of pickles and mushrooms. If you eat meat I'm sure you wouldn't mind but it was a bonus that I wasn't expecting. The sauce choice was pretty interesting as it forces you purchase a bunch of flavors that you just want to try. They weren't bad, but it's no Caines Sauce. The coleslaw wasn't bad, but nothing to rave about. As far as the chicken. My daughter stated it was dry, but I can't comment on that aspect as she is a Chick-Fil-E loyalist. They had Trainers in purple shirts on-site helping as the crew were all munching on nugget ice. Beware all the styrofoam cups are filled 3/4 of the way with that incredible nugget ice giving you about 5 Oz's of actual beverage. I hope that this establishment does well. My advice to management. Separate fryer for all fried veggies, unless the intent is to give bonus nuggets to customers and offend vegetarians, etc. read more

Stopped into today with our kids and a Facebook ad for 1.99 kids meals today only. The GM said "I don't see that ad on our Facebook page". Tried to explain we didn't go searching for the coupon but that it came as an ad. It was date and location specific but she refused to honor it. We said we head a mile away to KFC and she let us walk out the door. Really disappointed and the service I would ever find at another fast food place. read more

This place is great. Grilled chicken tenders taste great. The kids love the breaded and the wings and of course the Mac n cheese . Wings are a little small but flavorful. Sides are good. Definitely recommend it. Always a nice greeting when you walk in. read more

Well another chicken shack in town! So of course I wanted to give it a try. The drive through line was ridiculously long went inside. Girl was very nice but could barely hear what she was saying repeated every single thing twice. Chicken and fried pickles well won't be back!!!! The chicken was small strips and pickles tasted like they got cooked in old oil. They were salty and old oil that seemed like they sat in it for a while. If u like cheap food as tiny chicken for an expensive price enjoy, but I won't be back! read more

Well, so much for adding another chicken place to the mix around here. This place just doesn't measure up on taste and it is premium priced even in an inflationary environment. Easiest to compare to Raising Canes in our local market, but Canes wins the chicken battle head to head - as well as fries, bread, slaw, sauce. Yes, there is more variety at Slim Chickens, but we went for the staples to compare. The fries were over salted, chicken was dry and bland, slaw was meh, sauces we tried were blah - the Slims Sauce had zero flavor, bread probably the best of the group - but nothing special. The jar dessert - like a cheesecake cut into squares and toppings - was tasty, but a $7 dessert added to a $10 meal is just too steep. Keep the jar, use a plastic clam shell and save me a couple bucks please. The brownie was excellent! Probably won't be back, unless I need a brownie. Guess we have to keep sitting in Canes and Chic-Fil-A drive through lines for the chicken fix. read more

I love slim chickens. Slim Chickens is new to Canton and beings that there is a Raising Canes and Chick-fil-a all within 5 minutes of eachother, I was a little skeptical. UNTIL I tried it. This is the best chicken place i've ever eaten at. I'm not kidding I eat here about 3/7 days of the week. The chicken and fries are phenomenal. The garlic parm sauce and cajun ranch are mouth watering. The toast is the only thing that could be better. The inside of the restaurant is clean and very inviting. They even have cherry coke which is ALWAYS a plus! I tell everyone about how amazing Slim Chickens is and I am very pleased every time I go! I LOVE SLIM CHICKENS read more

I'm gonna be honest with y'all! the food was okay. the tenders were a little rough but everything else was really good. fried pickles and mac and cheese were so so good! all of the sauces tasted like nothing. We drove 45 mins to store & was so excited to try your restaurant. When we walked in the young lady at the register was so over whelmed she actually left the register while we where ordering to change garbage liner then without washing hands (cross contamination) proceeded to hand me my cup then left again to fill different order at this point there where about 14 people in line. Got my order wrong charged me for items I didn't receive & when I went to sit down... I am not exaggerating every empty booth and table was dirty & full of visible crumbs and on the seat as well. I had to ask for a rag to clean tables. Restaurant had about 5 tables with people seated and the rest where empty. Tea was empty lids where empty and staff was operating from a place of chaos and had absolutely no interaction with customers even at the register. I asked staff member if she was ok she said she had to get up at 11am and had been working without a break and had to do everything by herself. The food was good but because of the lack of customer service, sanitation, cross contamination and inaccurate order I was highly disappointed with your franchise.
