The parking and entrance is in the back of Howlin Bird. You'll see the storefront on North Main st in North Canton, but proceed to the back of the building to park. You will pass the playground area (No, you didn't pass up Howlin Bird or parking area). Once you enter through the doors in the back, you'll see a counter where a friendly staff member will greet you; taking your order. You will be given the option to eat outside or inside with a number locating where your food will be brought when ready. The OH Chicken Sandwich is delicious, but I won't say it is better or worse than other similar chicken sandwiches other places. The tator tots were crispy and seasoned. The star of the show this visit was the peanut butter chocolate shake was had peanut butter morsels in it. This place was busy during a weekday during lunch time both in the dining area and the bar counter. The fountain drinks have a drink station to serve yourself. read more

Top tier food. Little pricey but worth the splurge. Chicken and waffles is my favorite thing to get but all the food is wonderful if you have the extra coin. It's fast casual and has good vibes. Almost always a short line to order but that tells you it's good and worth the money. read more

Got a $6 dollar Tuesday chicken sandwich that comes with fries. Got a drink as well and everything was under $10. Very good chicken sandwich, the sauces we good as well. Ordered at the front and food was brought to us, it was packed at 1pm on Tuesday, and for good reason. I will come back another Tuesday to get their Nashville hot chicken. Very satisfied, and amazing bang for your buck on the discounted day. read more

I've only been here twice and unfortunately, both times I wasn't really impressed. They have chicken. I think it's somewhat overpriced. Cane's chicken tenders are better in my honest opinion. Maybe the two times I've been there were just both off days. read more

We love the Howlin Bird, it's are favorite local restaurant to go to for a casual night out. Our last trip we stop in for .50 cent wing day. I got their buffalo wings and my wife got the Thai Chili Wings, we also ordered and shared the brusselsprouts and an order of tater tots. Great service and great family that owns and operates the restaurant. Support small business. If you haven't been to The Bird, give them a shot. read more

The Good: great tasting chicken: Danielle had the chicken & waffles and i had a 4 piece meal w/ fried Brussel sprouts. we both agreed that the chicken was delicious and perfectly fried/crispy. the chicken fingers were also huge. i was worried that 4 chicken fingers wasn't going to be enough to fill me up but i was full by the time I'd eaten 2. each finger was the width of 2 fingers you'd get somewhere else. beverage options: i'm diabetic so i stick to diet/zero sugar sodas or teas. not only did they have diet pepsi, but had diet dr. pepper as well. score! and that cold soda was needed... The Bad (or Bad-ish): Howlin Sauce: incredibly hot/spicy for just a sriracha based sauce. i eat lots of hot and spicy dishes. it wasn't that it tasted bad - in fact, quite the opposite - but it scorched my tongue like nothing has in a while. No Chill (ha): Danielle's chicken and waffles was swimming in syrup so by her waffles were soggy as hell by the time she'd finished. she still loved the meal and just said she'd ask for it on the side next time. Messy: when we arrived, we saw a number of parties leaving one after another. i assume this would be the reason that most of the tables were covered in dirty dishes and empty cups and glasses. since you order at the counter and seat yourself, servers are not around to check on you or the state of the restaurant. so, tables remained messy for a little while before they were cleaned up. Ordering: i don't like the ordering at the counter and lack of server service. the place doesn't look to be set up that way. you'd think there would be servers as it's kinda like a larger bar. instead you order, sit, wait for your food and you're on your own. it's a little like BW3 was back in the day. Slow: seemed to take a long time for chicken fingers. not a huge deal, but i wouldn't have guessed it'd take so long. i don't want to give the impression, though, that it was more bad than good. the food definitely outweighed the negatives. it's a long way from home but i'd go back for sure. i'd like to try some wings and some other sides as well as some of their appetizers. read more

It was just ok. I usually only go to full service restaurants so I was a bit disappointed to see they didn't have table service. We ordered the Cajun tater tots, I love Cajun and some heat but these were literally covered in spices to the point they were almost black, way too spicy to enjoy. The chicken and waffles were ok, nothing to rave about. The salmon ironically was good which I don't think is what this restaurants speciality is. It wasn't a terrible lunch by any means but it also didn't stand out. I probably wouldn't go back. read more

The food here was amazingly prepared, very good chicken I got the Nashville tocos and the campfire loaded fries I definitely recommend. Service is very simple go in and order at the front then go grab a seat. The ambiance is very nice they have a bar inside, they have some TVs for sports entertainment, good music as well. 9/10 definitely recommend read more

The food overall was good. The chicken tenders are huge! The 1/2 chicken was juicy, but I would love a little more seasoning and that goes for the chicken tenders (breading) as well. Fries were well seasoned. Coleslaw was creamy, would like a little more flavor with that too, not sure what is missing. Loved the season and butter flavor on the rolls, they were nice and hot. We had the honey mustard and garlic parmesan dipping sauces which were tasty. They do have others to choose from. The atmosphere is cool. Small bar area to eat and get a drink at. The service was great. The people that work there are super friendly, patient and can tell you all about the menu if you have any questions. I will definitely be back to try something new! read more

So- we order howlin bird often. We also eat inside with family. Got carry out tonight - everything was yummy except-- we ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla. It was literally like Frank's hot sauce mixed with some chicken that hanging around waiting to be used. There was nothing special about this quesadilla and certainly not worth 14.00$ !! Very disappointing effort. read more

Well we were looking for someplace new to try to take our old neighbor to as he loves chicken. What a good find. It is an easy drive from Akron where we live. (35 minute drive) My husband & I decided to split the 5 piece chicken strip platter. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Plenty of food for the two of us to spit. Loved the coleslaw, just the right amount of sweet tang flavor. We loved the garlic Parmesan dipping sauce & the honey mustard was good too! Our neighbor had the half of chicken platter & had plenty to take home with him. The two gentlemen servers were energetic, enthusiastic & friendly. Service was very good & environment upbeat with a sports bar-feel. We'll be back. read more

This was a repeat trip to the Howlin Bird on a Sunday for the same purchase that we tried about a year ago. This food experiment was not the same as this place overwhelmingly surprised me on my first visit for brunch. The Blueberry pancakes in the past were amazing. This time, it was like someone went in and replaced the entire previous cooking staff which might have happened. These pancakes were not fit for consumption as they were 'gummy' cakes. They're were so horrible there was only one attempt at a bite-fool. My wife didn't even touch her eggs as there was an apparent oil drizzled on them. The wings were amazing, but that was it. I guess we just paid over $64 dollars for twelve wings and soda pop. Our experiment on consumer consistency doesn't seem to be working out. Now that there is another comparative location, we can check more closely if there is a human capital issue or process issue. We really want to see you do well and your pancakes use to be my second favorite compared to Crackle Barrel. Now they are the bottom of the barrel. read more

Let me just start by saying this place is great. On Tuesday's they have $6 dollar sandwiches, well it's just 2 of the signature chicken sandwiches. This menu is something else. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was great, very attentive and explained everything to me, even how they cook the fries in a beef bouillon but only on Tuesdays because the Vegetarian customers don't agree with it. Which tells me they must have a huge vegetarian crowd(at a chicken place?). Anyways the fries that came with the Nashville chicken sandwich were amazaballs... and I don't usually get fries, ever. I also order 2 sets of wings, they have traditional and boneless, I went with the bone-in, Nashville rub, it's not just a rub it's saucy, and the Parm/ garlic,. They came out hot/temp, so I ate the sandwich first and piled my coleslaw on-top and it's a soft roll type bun, and poured ranch on some bites cause it has some kick. And the coleslaw came out in a 2 cup container not a little dish, I ate it the whole meal and it was really good. I, half way through, asked the bartender if I could get one of the homemade lemonade that's in the back, that he mention to me, I did not see it at the soda fountain or on the menu. They have a full bar also. I was told the lemonade can be made blueberry or strawberry, I just got the strait up lemonade and it was great, served in a to go cup. And I like lemonade and root-beer, but they just have Barq's root-beer. I got there at about 5 and they have half priced appetizers from 3-6 and they change from day to day. They have a whole menu devoted to "The bird" you can get it whole, half, qtr, and on Wednesday they have .50c wings and they told me they sell out every Wednesday! I can believe it. They have a bunch of different sides, I wanted Mac and cheese but I already ordered for 2 people. I have to say when I sat down the bartender told me to hang on so he could re-wipe my spot. The place is pretty big and they have a downstairs party room you can rent out, with its own bathrooms, the bathrooms upstairs are clean and filled with toiletry, that's a good sign coming from me, bathrooms are a must. Especially if you're eating with your fingers for most of the meal. I would recommend anybody who likes wings and just plain chicken and fixens, this is your place. I just get a little confused on when to go, when they cook the fries in the same oil as the chicken. Tuesdays I think. Because the fries, wow. I stand by this place, check it out! read more

I really like the chicken sandwiches and wings here. All the rules they post are just silly. And the lady that continues to remind me of the rules when I order/pay "as a reminder" is equally as annoying. It's like they are super concerned that all their customers are going to steal from them. Very odd. Food is good though and I love wing night. read more

Outstanding chicken! Various tasty sauces. Simple breading with great seasoning. Monday was free milkshake day with purchase of tender meal, yay whata surprise! Nashville hot is serious spicy, good flavor but heed the warning. Mac n cheese was creamy and not overly cheesy flavor, very yummy. Best chicken we've had at any of the comparable fast dining restaurants. Should also note very generous portions at a fair price. We'll have two meals out of this based on what we took home. Good beer options and bar to boot with a friendly helpful staff! We'll come back next time we visit. read more

Went for dinner on a Thursday. The place was decently busy. You order at the counter by the door and wait for delivery. We ordered a pretzel, chicken and waffles, and a chicken tenders plate with mac n cheese. The pretzel is indeed giant. But it was also stale and cold. So we left it. Food came out fast, but it wasn't hot, more luke warm. Chicken and waffles are good, but there is ALOT of syrup. The waffles were soggy, and so was the chicken breading. So sweet and rich. Next time, I would get the sauce on the side. The chicken tenders were giant and juicy. The accompanying sauces were good. We tried the sweet Thai chili, white house, and garlic parmesan. The mac n cheese was disappointing. It's almost good but just doesn't make it. Sauce is decent, but it's soupy, and it's missing something to break up the richness and make it more of a dynamic flavor profile. Ooh look at me using my Food Network training. Either way, we didn't love it and left most of it. Service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Won't rush my way back but wouldnt say no if asked. read more

We placed a quick online order to eat on the road after visiting the First Ladies National Historic Site. My order was ready 11 minutes before the estimated pickup time (estimate was 25 minutes). Parking is in large lot behind the restaurant - be aware that Google maps makes you try to enter the parking lot through an old driveway that's now blocked with bollards. We only got one dish since we weren't that hungry: O.G. Chicken Sandwich ($14) + Upgrade to Loaded Fries ($3.50) - The fries were nicely salted and still remained a bit crisp even though they had been steaming for a couple of minutes in the takeout container. Because we had a takeout order, the loaded fry sauce came in an 8oz container on the side, making it really easy to dip the fries instead of having to eat with a fork. The sauce was cheesy and milky, with sweet caramelized onions, bacon, green onion and with a texture more like fondue than nacho cheese. Very good fries. The sandwich comes with two pieces of fried chicken that tasted well brined and heavily black peppered. The chicken had a perfect crisp and with the additional crunchy pickles and chewy brioche bun resulted in a great sandwich. Some horseradish sauce came in a 2oz container on the side that complemented the sandwich well. I would definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area again. Next time getting that fried chicken, biscuit and gravy monstrosity if they have it. read more

we have actually had some pretty decent experiences here in the past. However, our most recent experience was deeply disappointing. We ordered Birria tacos, chicken tacos, two orders of wings and nacho supreme on a Thursday night. The Beria tacos were dry and slightly burnt on the outside and the consume was extremely salty. The chips were stale, the chicken was rubbery across the board, and some of the wings appeared undercooked. We will probably give them another shot in the future based on past experiences, but we ended up throwing most of this food away. read more

Fast casual with sit down style food. The menu is overwhelming but the staff can help you pick. We got the regular tenders with sweet potato fries which were great. The sauces were Ok-- very similar so wouldn't recommend both the howlin and the garlic next time. Also very thick. Then the blt salad was huge! Really good with crispy chicken and all the fixings. The ranch could have been better but good enough. Service was a bit slow so we couldn't finish our meal due to the next commitment however they have self serve boxes. Good Food, great Beer! Wonderful special on Tuesdays and such a lovely people serving.

Four stars.... We still find the food super tasty and even delicious, BUT....MARKET PRICE for chicken tenders for the Small Flock?! I've only ever paid market price for surf and turf or some other fresh seafood. While we love the chicken, it is NOT lobster. So, $33 for chicken tenders last week was market price, BUT the medium flock which includes chicken tenders and a rotisserie chicken is able to have a consistent price. It doesn't add up. ‍ A place that was an amazing place to feed a family of 4-5 is now on our list of "kind of expensive." read more

Been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally picked up a take-out order today. The ordering process was pretty easy and a link on their website goes to a site called "chow-now". You can use Apple Pay from your phone which is pretty convenient. The food was outstanding. We got the medium flock which included a rotisserie chicken, chicken fingers and 4 sides. The rotisserie was very tender much more so than anything you could get at BJs or Sam's club. The chicken fingers aren't what you think about when hearing the term....it's more of good pieces of white meat chicken breaded and fried. For the sides; we really enjoyed the mac and cheese, rolls were good, however, the coleslaw was just so-so. Recommend trying them out. They do have a decent dining room with full bar if you prefer a sit down meal instead of take-out. read more

Yummy! Great food, welcoming and festive atmosphere (Christmas time) and unique but effective service. You order right when you walk-in. We were a party of 4 and absolutely no line so had time to look at the menu but if it's busy I would recommend to review the menu first so you aren't waiting at the entrance. The nashville chicken and waffles was the perfect balance of a flavorful spice with the sweet maple syrup. Wings we iiiight nothing I'd rave about but if you're craving them they'll hit the spot. Burgers were delicious. Sweet potato fries--classic. Highly recommend if you're looking for this type of food. I am indifferent about the service style, probably covid-related.
