The fries (8/10) reminded me of Steak-N-Shake fries. Sadly, the Texas Toast (3/10) was not thick enough for me or any Texan I have met. We had a WONDERFUL experience. From counter to first, then last bite. We were greeted with a smile, offered personalized recommendations, patience since it was our first time there, and welcomed request to return. The food tasted fresh and of quality, and the options of sauces for both dipping and having your order tossed in ranged from sweet to heat. And was what we were hoping for. I'm a foodie, and don't mind driving for what I want when and if it's worth it. Slim Chickens will definitely see us again. He had the 10 piece bites tossed with Garlic Parmesan, with real parmesan, not powdered, cheese and the buffalo bites. I had the Slim Tenders 5 piece meal tossed in Spicy BBQ sauce. Our dipping sauces were ranch, Slim sauce, mango habanero and buffalo. The meals come with Texas toast, and fries with a drink. I was able to eat about half of my fries and 2 tenders before becoming full. We also purchased the banana pudding jar that we haven't tasted yet. But it's on the agenda for this afternoon for sure. I am going to be honest, folks. I don't like the logo. The crow in a hat feels antebellum/share cropper/perhaps a little "Jim Crow-ish" to me. Maybe I am reading more into this image than I should, but this is my review and thus, my feelings. With the name "chicken" in the title, I wanted the chicken to be SPECTACULAR or at least good enough to make me forget that logo. It's "good" in a I-am-making-air-quotes-with-my-fingers-when-I-say-good kind of way. But that potato salad and fried okra...now that is SPECTACULARLY AMAZING. Went to the drive thru during lunch and ordered an 8 wing meal and a club sandwich. Received order and drove all the way home. When I opened the boxes it wasn't what I ordered. I got an 8 piece wing meal with fried mushrooms. The other box (same box as sandwich come in) was ANOTHER side of fried mushrooms! You can say it was my fault for not checking before I left but there are checks and balances that should be established before actually handing it to the customer. I was double charged for my lunch. The register locked up so I paid again because it appeared that the initial charge did not process. Prior to leaving the restaurant I let the manager know that the second charge was pending. I was assured the second charge would not go through. Unfortunately both charges processed. First time trying slim chickens and was impressed. Everything we had was very tasty and portions sizes were quite large. Also the packaging of the food was nice for eating in the car on the go. Only negative and why they didn't get 5 stars was when I picked up my sandwich there was a large pile of grease under it and covering the wrapper.(I'm assuming from the pickles not being drained properly???) had to ditch the wrapper and use the napkins to soak it all up. read more

Food is fresh and delicious. I had the chicken club meal and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in years. The fried okra was perfectly cooked. The fries looked good but you should try some fried okra. Again it was some of the best I've had in years. And I have had fried okra in so many places south of the Mason Dixon line. Excellent customer service from the counter to the table. Indoor and outdoor seating. But at lunch time the place was packed. It is not about the decor, but rather the quality of the food and service which was excellent. Carpool is recommended because tiny people are still compensating with supersized vehicles. read more

They were friendly but not helpful, we asked about several items that seemed like common items they sell and they didn't have an opinion on anything. They said they haven't tried anything yet, but they were not new -_- Food (3 Stars) this was your average, mixed of food and just ok items. It's edible but I wouldn't go out my way to stand in line. Slim Chicken is my family's last resort. When we get home late and don't want burgers, Slim Chicken is usually where we go. The food is OK. The chicken is unseasoned but their sauces give it a lot of flavor. I haven't gone inside the restaurant so I don't know what it's like in there. The service is usually from someone who sounds like they are over it and ready to go home. But again, I usually go about an hour before closing so it's understandable. I've never really had any issues with my food so I'll continue coming back. read more

Went here for lunch with colleagues and we all felt disappointed. The chicken was over cooked and dry and their sauces are generic. They just opened and it's apparent they're still working out some kinks. Our orders were messed up and service was slow. I'll be honest I was beyond excited to try this place but my excitement deplete fast when I finally visited (Customer service) The young girl at the cash register was beyond rude and uninviting. She practically ignored us as we stood there patiently and would rather have a full blown conversation with her coworker than serve us. When she finally did take our order she gave us attitude for no reason at all (we were being very friendly even though we got ignored). When I contacted the restaurant via email to express my concern about the issue at a newly opened establishment I never heard back. (Food) We got a combination of items just to try. The chicken tenders have great taste/crunch but are very small. The variety of dipping sauces is great. The chicken Sandwiches are what really would bring me back. They are juicy & delicious. Overall, due to the customer service and how off putting my experience was, I'd rather just go to a chick-fila. A workers attitude for no reason can ruin the whole experience. Visited Slim chickens quite a few times, never disappoints. However they need to do some sort of food allergen training with their staff. My kid has a dairy allergy that we made them aware of at the time we ordered, but the meal that came out had dairy in it. If you are ordering anything for someone with a food allergy, I'd order inside (to communicate better) and check the food once you receive it.
