We were visiting a park nearby on a Sunday afternoon and wanted to have lunch first in Thomaston. At around noon, there did not appear to be a lot of options, especially on the town square. Luckily, Slices was open and there was plenty of street parking. We were seated promptly. Our server was efficient and brought our waters out quickly. It took a while for our slices, but we could watch the pizza-baking process from our booth. We each got a slice and they were definitely big enough to serve as a meal! They were cooked well, and the ingredients tasted fresh. I would readily return here for more pizza if I were ever back in town. read more

I went here for Sunday lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered a Cuban sandwich. For starters I was highly put off by the open kitchen concept when I can see the line cook prepping my ready to eat food without gloves on or any food handling tools. It was good that he put a glove one to drop some food in the batter before dropping it in the fryer... but then to take glove off and go back to touching everyone else's ready to eat food without gloves, just plain nasty. After observing this place for 30 minutes something tells me not a single employee has attended servesafe nor would they understand anything about food safety. After observing this, my sandwich finally coming out, it was really pathetic. I get food costs are hitting us all but please raise your prices accordingly. The Cuban sandwich needs a little more ham than 1 paper thin slice per half. It also could use more than .5oz of whatever they are trying to pass off as roasted pork. Anyway overall a massive train wreck at this place. I would avoid it at all cost until they work through their food safety problems. P.s. tell your line cook that he is supposed to sani his knives after cutting something with them... not just wipe them off and put them back on the food safe surface... and for that matter please ask him to sani the food "safe" surface too. I have given this place numerous chances and yet again, they disappointed. Not so much with the food or service, but they way the mgmt handled a complaint. Prior to ordering, I showed the server some pictures I took of the wings they served last time we were there. They were extremely small with little to no meat on them. Since this a to go order, I didnt see it until I got home. I asked the server if the wings were any bigger and she thought they were. I placed my order for wings and I got them, they looked the same as last time. The server was going to talk to the manager and have them removed from the bill. This would have been the proper thing to do. Instead she took a $1.00 of the bill. Thats a joke and a great way to loose a customer, which they did. Ugh, this place man... my family & I keep trying to give them chance after chance to get this right but they just can't. We sat down to order and grabbed some beers while at it (thank god) & the service was no bueno. It took about 10 minutes for us to be greeted and then another 10 minutes just to get our beers. We ordered our pizzas when we ordered our first beer. 2 and a half hours later & 1 pissed off momma, we asked for it to go since we saw so many other people come in & ordering it to go & receiving their order much quicker than ours! My mother, who orders extra cheese & pepperoni for my dad, asked for EXTRA, EXTRA, EXTRA cheese AND pepperoni & what did these whackos do?! Give a basic ass pepperoni pizza without even trying! If you really want pizza, go to the Slice's in Zebulon or go to American Pie! At least American Pie actually listens when you ask for extra! read more

the food at any of the area Slices is always good. it's a pizza and sandwich place so it's hard to mess that up. what sets the Thomaston, Ga franchise apart from the others is the poor service. We arrived with a party of 9 in the late afternoon before the dinner crowd arrived. We were immediately seated and drink order taken; so far, so good. There were 4 other patrons in the place, so I figured it may go smoothly. We gave our order food order and it went down hill from there. By the time we got the single appetizer we ordered, we were done with our drinks. We didn't have plates or utensils either. About 40 minutes into waiting, our food order came, well most of it. 7 of the 9 of us got our food while the last two to order went without. it was 20 more minutes before they received their food and when it arrived, it was cold. We had to ask for utensils and refills. When we got the bill, divided into 3 families, one family was charged $2.99 for a glass of water. Another family was charged $4.99 for something they didn't order. To top it all off, the tip had already been added to each bill. No wonder the waitress didn't care...she was getting a 20% tip on 3 bills regardless if she did her job or not?!? The also charge you for using a debit card...a debit card is as good as cash so i'm not sure why the additional charge there. when my friend discovered the $4.99 charge on her bill for something she didn't order, she went back in. Our waitress argued that she should just get the money from our other friend who was charged $2.99 for water since the charge should've gone to her ticket, but it shouldn't. She was charged correctly for her food and all of it was accounted for on her bill. if the waitress was by herself, I can see the lack of service and billing mistakes but there were 4 other waitresses working so it was an epic failure. we will not be back. read more

Have you ever had an experience so bad that it completely turns you against an entire restaurant chain you love and eat at often? This happened to me and my friends at Slices in Thomaston, GA today. None of us are likely to ever eat at Slices again we were treated with such disregard. We went in at 4:30 pm after a movie at the Ritz, so there only a couple of other tables. They definitely can't blame the poor service on being busy. It's probably more about the fact we had a group of 10 so our server knew she would be calculating in an auto gratuity for herself that she had no intention of earning. Instead, she proceeded to ignore our table the entire time we were there. Couldn't get refills, plates, or silverware. I probably had the simplest order of everyone, just fries with Alfredo sauce...didn't get my order until everyone else was finished...this was only after someone flagged her down and asked if my order got put in. By the time my order came, everyone was angry and ready to go, so I got a togo box. Yay! I get to have leftover fries for dinner...everyone knows how delicious REHEATED FRIES are! Then I realized she charged me 2.99 for the tap water I drank and couldn't get a refill on. I did manage to get that refunded before I left. My friend, however, was charged 3.99 for a side of fries she didn't order or recieve. I did order the fries. I paid for the fries because they were also on my bill. When my friend went back inside to ask why she was also charged for fries, she was told she must have made a mistake and put the other lady's fries on the wrong bill and that I would need refund the money to her (my friend)...EXCEPT I ALREADY PAID FOR MY FRIES!!!! How do i owe anyone a refund for fries my friend did not order or recieve? I'm still trying to figure out if this person has an unfortunate lack of intelligence or if she's just a thief. It was so good that I had to have it again. We've had pizza from Slices at the office quite often, but I didn't know they had such a plethora of options. I had a lunch meeting here earlier in the week and tries the lemon pepper wings in a salad and I had to come back for lunch with one of the office staff members to try something else. It is located on the Thomaston square with ample parking and it is not too crowded. The food is amazing, and I just love the wings. The service is also excellent. The second time I came I had to try the Chicken and Bacon Wrap, and it was a little bit different than what I expected. It was warm, toasted, and cheesy, and I liked it but could've done without the sliced onions on the inside. The wings are some of the best I've had. Love it! Love it! Passing through this little Georgia town and felling hungry, their sign outside really caught my attention and I had to stop. I recommend the slice of pizza with a y'all cold cup of coke. Went to lunch today and have never been on a Sunday. There were 2 young boys (10-12 yrs old) that were obviously there bc they had at least one parent working there. I noticed these boys were allowed to go into kitchen/food area and at one point given a task of packaging utensils and no one instructing them to wash their hands prior to task. We had already decided about a year ago that we weren't going back bc of the service....now we FOR SURE won't go back during lunch. It might be more sanitary at night....who knows!!! read more

I know that the new owner has tried to change things up to appeal more to the public, and I appreciate that, but he also changed up the prices big-time. I guess he felt he had to do that. Guys and gals if you haven't been to Thomaston's own Slices lately you are really missing something great. They added a salad bar a few weeks ago and it's amazing. I personally like for someone else to make mine so I get the garden salad and it's probably the best salad I eat anywhere. We arrived at 4 pm to a nearly empty dining room. ordered garlic minis and a meatball melt. 20 minutes later, the garlic minis arrived. Really? We waited another 20 minutes for the sandwich. We had a long travel day and we were very hungry. We didn't even eat the sandwich. We were ready to get home and took it to go. I have been a regular customer of Slices since they opened a few years ago. It's one of my favourite places to go because we can sit outside. I was on my way to Slices to eat with my family not long ago and was extremely shocked when I went in to see that the owners and employees were not wearing masks, not to mention no social distancing was being observed. I know it's a free country, but it is a law that restaurant employees and anyone who comes in contact with the public wear a mask and follow mandated requirements for social distancing. They are breaking the law! Sadly, I probably will not return because I don't feel safe (or respected). read more

Heard about this place while camping not too far away. So after a long day hiking at Providence Canyon we swung by here on our way back to camp. There were 12 of us. 5 adults and 7 Scouts. They got us rIght in and set down. Nice laid back atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a jumbo meat pizza and a few more slices, 50 wings and a couple of calzones. It was all pretty good. The pizza had a pretty good taste and decent amount of toppings. The crust was a little too thin but still good. And it was huge. The calzones were big and had enough ingredients inside. The lemon pepper wings were really good. They had a good crisp and plenty of flavor. The food arrived in a very timely manner for so much ordered at one time. Overall it was a good experience. If you are passing through or live in the area and need a slice this is a good option. Will definitely stop by here again when in the area! read more

Pretty good pizza house. The menu has a pretty good variety of pizza toppings to put on top of your pizza, so that's good. And the toppings on top of your pizza taste good which is even better. I usually get the meatball appetizer even though it is neither a pizza nor a topping. And I also get the hot wings, which are also not a topping for pizza. The wings are tasty, but kind of pricey. I can recommend this place even though I don't usually get the pizza. When I have had the pizza, however, the pizza is pretty good. Particularly the toppings. For lunch I ordered the meatball sub with fries and the Jailhouse Mugshot IPA. The tomato sauce is excellent, meat is fresh. The IPA was delicious, just enough hops. The fries have a great crumbly texture. I'm coming here for dinner to try their pizza. read more

I wish that I was able to give this restaurant no stars. The owner of this establishment made a mother of a special needs child and the child feel so uncomfortable that she picked her up and left prior to receiving their meal. The owner was rude and showed no compassion whatsoever! The mother carried her daughter in (the child uses a walker) with the flip flops in her bag and before she could sit the owner approached the mother and said I hope you have her shoes. The owner actually sent the waitress to the table to ask the mother to keep the child's flip flops on which kept falling off at the table. She actually waited until the mother walked outside to calm down from the awful treatment being received, to go to the table and speak with the friend (not the mother) in front of the child. The issue.........the child was unable to keep flip flops on her dangling feet. Not only were they approached when walking in they were stared at the entire time including when the mother had to carry the child to the restroom. Kuddos to the mother for keeping her cool I'm not sure I would have had her strength. My children, when little, were unable to keep flip flops on when sitting and this has never been an issue for us at any restaurant. Shame on the owner!! read more
