Update #3. Just finished my replacement pizza, and it was VERY tasty this time. Upping the star count to 4. This time I tried a half and half, buffalo chicken on one half and sausage and pepper on the other. I ordered it "lightly cooked" as per suggested by the owner whom I spoke to (when I mentioned I wasn't really a fan of very well done crust). That was definitely key as everything came out what I consider to be perfectly cooked. My original order, for which I posted a 1 star review for, was lacking flavor. This time it was the complete opposite. The sausage had incredible flavor, as did the peppers. The buffalo sauce was tasty as well, and the chicken was very tender. Much appreciate them making the first bad experience up to me, as this was a much improved experience. Quicktip: if crispy and firm crust is your thing then the way they cook their pizza by default will be for you (although in my case I think they accidentally cooked it a bit too long on my first trip here hence my original review). If you are like me and prefer a softer crust then tell them to lightly cook it. read more

I never knew of SliCE until I hosted a client meeting at the location in NJ. I was extremely impressed with the staff and more importantly, the food was amazing. I highly recommend the french fries with sea salt and also the truffle oil. I preferred the sea salt but the others were a huge hit. The pizza is the real draw. I really enjoy a thin crust pizza and they have it nailed perfectly. The overall quality of the pizza is spot on. Great sauce, toppings and that perfectly crisp thin crust. We got a Groupon here and tried it out for the first time this evening. It was DELICIOUS! We ordered their Margherita pizza made with whole wheat dough... soooo yummy! I love that the offer whole wheat dough in the first place (along with gluten free options as well as vegan cheese) but the crispy crust was perfect and the sauce and spices blended together so well. Considering I am normally a thick/chewy crust kinda gal, it's saying something that I liked the thin crust that much. We came in for the Groupon but will DEFINITELY be going back! I welcome this fresh crisp real pizza place in township. I'm so tired of all the cardboard pizza here. Slice is a very nice change. Very well decorated, great service, very friendly staff. After reading about how fantastic Slice was, I decided to give it a try. I was so excited to try their pizza. I had heard such great things about it. My family ordered a Margharita and the Americano pies. I have 2 teen girls and an 11 year old boy. Normally this is enough when you add in my husband and myself. We do like a thin crust, but, felt the the crust was was too thin. It was almost like eating a slice of paper. The toppings were also sparse. For charging almost 17 dollars a pie (or more), having more sauce with occasional dots of cheese is not acceptable. Our dinner felt like an appetizer. The entire family was so hungry that we had to find more food for everyone to eat. My husband grew up in pizza shops, and even he would not order from Slice again. I've been back to Slice a few more times since my last review and I'm updating my thoughts and giving them five stars because I've been enticed to return a few times. Albeit, prices for sodas and toppings are a little "over the top," the quality of ingredients speak for themselves. To me, this is the difference of ordering pizza from them once a week versus two or three times. I've learned that I prefer just a tiny bit extra sauce and cheese because I don't like my pizza dry, and their fancy pizza sauce tastes so great that I could probably eat it by itself. So I decided to give it another chance after the owner reached out to me and since I order from them shortly after they first opened up. This time I decided to call ahead and pick up. It was ready in under 20 minutes from the time I called. This time I opted for the regular crust Americano pizza. The first time we got the gluten-free dough, which I now believe is what made my previous pizza/order bland. The pizza was definitely better than before, but I personally would still prefer more seasoning in the sauce, but that is purely my personal taste. You could tell they used quality cheese. My favorite thing by far though was the Truffle Ribeye Stromboli (ordered mine without onions). It was honestly the best stromboli I've ever had and trust me, I've had more than my fair share of stromboli from countless places. This is a must order item. The owner himself was there working in the kitchen (at least whom I perceived as the owner or manager) when I arrived at about 6:30/7pm on a Friday night. He personally checked my order before sending it out. You could tell they definitely care and are working hard. Although I was just picking my food up to take home, they did have a nice dining area that far exceeds the typical pizzeria. I found this gem on a lunch break. Their pizzas are thin, crispy, and delicious. I just wish it was a little more cheesy but that's just me. I had two slices, one was the Pizzaz with American cheese, tomato slices, hot peppers, and omg what a kick, really good. My second slice was a Margherita, very tasty, tomato sauce was sweet and tangy and mozzarella cheese was fresh, as was the basil. I really liked the decor and the set up of the place. They have 2 other locations in philly, one in rittenhouse and one in south philly by the Italian market. Definitely worth a try. 2 slices for $7, not bad for quality stuff. I was going to order the Margherita pizza which was $12 but I had I great one on Wednesday from Catelli Duo and it was freaking awesome so I didnt want to put a new spot on such of a high expectation. I opted for the pricer $15 Truffle pizza. I dont mind paying such a high price for pizza if it's worth it. But this pizza was B.L.A.N.D. I had to put salt, garlic and crush red peppers just to make it edible. The crust was the best thing going for the pizza, maybe I should have started out with something simple. Honestly, I could have made a better pie at home. This pizza is worth $10 not $15. This was a $15 lesson but at least I learned my lesson. read more

I think this place makes excellent pizza! I was introduced to it by a classmate. The first time we went they were in the middle of closing but they stayed longer to let me and my friends eat. My friend told the female manager that we all loved the restaurant but we all are coming from night classes over at GCC she asked if we could call ahead on some nights to see if they could stay open for us all to grab dinners on some nights and they were nice enough to allow it. The second time we went we were given a free sampling of their house wine which was delicious. I had the bacon and caramelized onion and a slice of the Florentine. I actually preferred the Florentine it was more flavorful. Both were good none the less. Their donuts are a perfect fluffy light dessert and the chocolate sauce is amazing. The meals are a bit pricy but it makes for a nice meal out. The music needs to be a little more lively though. I can't wait to go back with my girls when class starts up again next week. read more

We went there last night and was in a rush to catch a movie. The waiter Steve was really cool, refilled the drinks quick, friendly and offered great suggestions. They ended up getting busy around 7pm Food was quick, and tasted great. The pepperoni that was on the pizza is my favorite. They had a lot of staff and it seemed like the majority was family. The prices are outrageous. A few years ago, they were fair, but i personally don't think it's worth the price. We used to order the truffled pizza and the Margherita pretty often, but if you're craving this type of pizza, you may be better off trying holy tomato. The pizza is better and cheaper. Was a big fan of the two Philadelphia locations. I've been in Washington township for about 2 years now. Food quality is just about the same, but the service is god awful. I'm writing this review while waiting for my food for pick up, and this is the same exact experience I had two months ago (which is why I took a break from ordering here). I was told it was 25 minutes to pick up a pizza and 2 small salads. I arrive about 25 minutes later for pick up. I was told the pizza is ready but the salads aren't. 15 minutes later, I have salads and a pretty cold pizza that's been sitting on a counter while I wait. Seriously, this has been my last two experiences. This location has terrible service, so I'm out. read more

I just had 2 slices of pepperoni to go. It was great, one of the best slices I've had in a long time. The owner is gracious and takes pride in the restaurant--which is apparent in the quality of food. The slices are thin, with sauce on top, and the pepperoni is thick sliced! The sauce is great too. After ordering for over a year since moving back to the area, we had a problem tonight and I called. They apparently changed their caesar dressing and when I called to say what once was a fabulous salad is now awful, the girl who answered the phone said she would get me the manager. A man named Drew took the phone after over 3 minutes holding time. Drew said the company that provides them with the dressing hasn't changed...so you guys don't even make your own caesar dressing??? I was told you make it fresh when I asked last winter. So, that's a lie. Then Drew said if I had a problem with the salad it wasn't their fault, they do not make the dressing. He repeatedly stated this. When I commented how bad his customer service skills were, he proudly stated, I'm not the manager, I'm the driver. OMG. He said no management was in house, so he took the call. I'm done with Slice. The manager, who actually is in charge should be embarrassed. I was a loyal customer since I moved here over a year ago. If you follow my posts, you know that I love to go to Trenton, for a good tomato pie, and that Pete's and DeLorinzo's are the best in that fair city. Well, Slice has moved to Washington Township and they brought the taste of Trenton with them. Their crust is excellent if you long for the semi burnt, cracker thin crusts of Chambersberg. The San Marzano tomatoes are nice and sweet but the cheese is what makes it on their pies. I had the Marghereta with sausage tonight and it was incredible. Lots of fresh basil and sausage, in chunks, and the whole experience threw a party for my mouth. Their tomato pie is also an incredible creation and rivals any that I have had. The one thing that sets them out from the rest of the pizza places in this end of the state, is their love of the art of making a quality pie. Family owned usually means "attention to detail" and that holds true here. Not much more than pizza and salads but that's what I go there for. BYOB, so it is a lot more reasonable for a group than most places and the service and food are incredible. If you go, go hungry. Be brave and try something different, because there are a lot of very different things on their menu. read more

Very good pizza, thin crisp crust and fresh San Marzano tomatoes. Would recommend this to friends/family. I didn't see any high chairs/toddler seats so maybe it's more date oriented. We had a very good server, and it seems they're introducing other menu items. It's basically a high scale pizza place,so don't expect your local pizza shop, regardless I'd go back again (and again). I did order the wings which are new to the menu, they were good as well but to really enjoy the pizza don't order something that will hinder your taste buds, or maybe a glass of water on the side so you have a clean palette when putting that first bite of pizza in. My recommendation, get the wings after the pizza, or to go. My only concern is it's location, businesses pop in an out of the strip mall/center it's in. Not a bad area neighborhood-wise, just an awkward location. If you're not familiar with the area you'll probably be passing it a couple times. Maybe down the road they might locate to a more out-of-towner friendly area. I think though because of the quality of the food, and it's really the only high end pizza restaurant that I know of in the area, it should be fine where it's at. read more

The interior of this place is nicer than your typical pizzeria. We received a nice welcoming and our waitress was very informative, especially on how the pizza is made (particularly the thin crispy crust). Without even asking, our waitress brought over crayons for the kid. We started off with the wings dry, and a side of buffalo sauce. Next time I'm ordering the wings drenched in the buffalo sauce. The sauce was so tasty! We ordered the "La Pizza" which is a regular pizza with fresh pieces of provolone melted on top. The taste was unique and I never really thought I'd like a more well-done crispy crust, but it was great! After reading other reviews, I see that the place is also BYOB. I'll definitely keep that in mind for my return visit. Upon leaving, a woman who I believe was an owner/manager asked us how everything was and informed us of their other locations in Philadelphia. I decided to order a few canoli to go and she took them off the tab for us. What an excellent first impression as I think I found my new "go to" spot for excellent wings, pizza, and service! read more

I really enjoy slice's pizza. It's not traditional american pizza, it's a bit more rustic, like what my grandparents used to make. If you want traditional pizza grab something else, but this is a nice way to break up the pizza rotation. My husband loved the mozzarella sticks, but we were disappointed in the fries. Very soggy. I will say the delivery guys are always so cool! We moved here recently and one guy was talking to us about that for a bit, how great a neighborhood it was, etc. it's nice to have someone show up at your home and be so pleasant! read more
