Quality of the pizza was average - typical boardwalk/beach pizza, but it hit the spot if you're just looking for decent pizza. - Cheese Fries were overly salty and, unfortunately, the cheese was on the side instead of smothered all over the top. + Menu was simple with 4 types of slices (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, mushroom) and extra toppings listed for $4 each. They also sold 5 different 18" pies as well (tomato, cheese, clams, works and white). THE SERVICE ------------------- + No frills, quick ordering through a window. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Outdoor picnic table seating available right next to the pizzeria in an outdoor shed and also some bar seats to the left of the ordering window. - No private parking lot. Parking is strictly on the street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Was busy EVERYTIME we passed by, irrespective of what time of the day it was. We came by at 12:45 PM on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and there was a consistent short line. At some points, the outdoor seating in the shed got full too and some folks had to wait. = When picking up slices, a gentleman will just yell your name out and slide the heated slices on a long pizza peel over to the pickup window, so be ready when they call you! = Red pepper flake and garlic powder shakers are located by the pickup window.

On October 2nd, I called the Beach Haven location after checking the website to confirm they would be open on October 4th. I was told they would be. My wife called again on October 3rd to double‑check, and she received the same confirmation. Despite all of that, when we arrived on October 4th, the restaurant was closed for Chowderfest. This is an annual event at LBI, there is no excuse for the staff and management to be unaware of it when giving customers information. To make matters worse, when we called the restaurant while standing outside, the outbound message had already been updated to say they were closed for Chowderfest. As someone who works in retail management, I recognize this for what it is: poor planning and complacency. It turned what should have been a special family tradition into a frustrating experience.

After about an hour of waiting outside of a popular restaurant for a table, we decided to go somewhere else. I called every single place I could find within the area with Yelp's assistance and discovered that most places were either closed for the night and/or closed for the season. Things were looking quite bleak for us. We had NO luck until we drove by A Slice of Heaven, which had its lights on and guys in the parking lot. I gave them a quick call to see if they still were open and they said yes. They even offered to make us something fresh if we ordered now on the phone. 5 minutes later, we rolled up and were greeted by the 3 guys working there hanging out on the patio. We saw that they still had about a pizza and a half left along with some other random goodies. We basically cleaned out their stock and even got a HUGE container of the most delightful garlic knots ever (they were an experiment by one of the guys working there and as much as he said they were only "OK," they were AMAZING to us! Light and crunchy, almost like a crouton!). They gave us an amazing deal on the food since we were the last customers and chatted us up for awhile. The guys were so ridiculously nice and didn't mind staying open a little later to heat up our food and chat. We feasted on our slices of heaven back at our motel room and truly felt like we WERE in heaven! Their slices are super thin and tasty, meaning I gobbled up quite a bit of pizza! I cannot thank the awesome guys at A Slice of Heaven enough for saving our hungry asses on a Sunday night! Delicious food and great company! When we come back to LBI next summer, we'll be back for more thin slices, great conversations, and (hopefully) those airy garlic knots! read more

During our weekend in LBI, recommended by family, we tried out the local pizza spot. We ordered a plain pie, pepperoni pie, and some wings, plus a liter of soda, totaling $82. While the price felt a bit high, the pizza itself was quite tasty. Following reviews, we stuck with the pizza and were pleasantly surprised. The crust was crispy, and the toppings were flavorful. However, the wings were on the smaller side for the price, which was a letdown. Overall, it was a good experience. If you're craving pizza, this place delivers. We plan to return next time we're in the area, though we hope they reconsider their wing portions and pricing. read more

I agree, I thought this place was the best until their delivery guy chose to take advantage of my son and his friends. They were prepared to sign for the cc charge AND tip appropriately. Instead the delivery guy chose to intimidate our boys, "It's raining be sure to give me a good tip." He took that in addition to the cc charge. The establishment was so not cooperative, and accused us off being in the wrong; after paying cash and the same amount on cc. SO NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY CRIMINALS read more
