    Lancaster House

    Lancaster House

    Fells Point

The location of Lancaster House makes it a great base of operations for a weekend in Baltimore…read more Probably its greatest attraction is that it's stumbling distance to all the bars and restaurants in Fell's Point, so you don't have to worry about saddling someone with designated driver duties for climbing into the back of a cab that looks like it was just on one of the more... interesting... episodes of Taxicab Confessions. Should boozing for hours on end not be your thing, you can easily make use of the water taxis two blocks away to see all the touristy parts around Inner Harbor. The owners were nice enough to provide two passes for the taxis, so the $10/day fare becomes a non-issue. The house is a typical period row home, with narrow hallways, slanted floors (even when you're sober) and very steep winding staircases. The kitchen was fully equipped and the back patio with gas grill makes for a good way to spend a cool evening with a half dozen friends. All the rooms were well furnished and functional, making decent use of some of the smaller spaces. Bonus points to the owners for plastering the walls with numerous alcohol themed prints from around the start of the 20th century. There are a few annoying bits worth noting. The parking situation isn't great. They provide a pass that allows parking on the non-metered street, but a second car means finding a parking garage 4 (?) blocks away or getting $52 parking tickets as souvenirs. I have two I'm going to frame. I understand protecting the residents right to park from the Fell's Point masses, but I would have liked to see two passes for a three bedroom house instead of just the one. Oh, and I got another memento in the form of a license plate screw hole punched in my bumper. (Who drives an Xterra in the city anyway?) The A/C doesn't work that well. The lower level was cool, but even with it set at 68° the bedroom on the second floor was very warm in the night. The windows looked somewhat original, so I suspect it's an insulation issue. Not a huge deal, but something to consider during the hotter months. There is internet advertised, but it's useless. We tried both wireless and wired connections on two different devices and it barely worked. Webpages would load, but only after hitting refresh a half dozen times and at a 1992 modem speeds. Piggy backing off a neighbor with an open wireless network was far less aggravating. The third bedroom is a bed in an open loft over the kitchen, so make sure your third couple (or amorous single) likes very late night or early morning nookie. I guess you could also have people who don't mind an audience there, but I suggest you discuss it PRIOR to being surprised while enjoying your morning coffee in the breakfast nook. Despite these annoyances, the general consensus among the guests was "I could live here for a year." Take that as you will. P.S. - Did you know your draft isn't auto-saved when you're adding a new business? Awesome.

The entire house is well equipped. It was too cold when I was there to use the back patio, but it would be great in warmer months ! I plan on going back for a vacation when the weather is warmer. In Fells Point I never had a bad meal! All the restaurants and taverns had great food and drinks. I found the people of Baltimore extremely friendly and welcoming. Lancaster house is very well maintained! I got used to the narrow staircases very quickly! A charming home!

This auction house has great customer service but I personally have reason not to trust them. In my…read moresituation, the auction ad was misleading and the owner wasn't showing the property. When you purchase a property from the auction, you take it as is and are relying on the information provided and that you can gather. I relied mainly on the information highlighted on the advertisement which stated the property had 3 separate gas and electric meters. I called and the person at that answered the phone said it was a multi unit. She gave me the owners number and he said it was a multi unit and it was in good shape. I wasn't able to see it before the auction do I went with a relatively safe bid for a multi unit property. The problem was it wasn't a multi unit, didn't have multiple gas or electric meters and was not worth my bid. I complained, and complained and the owner eventually sent an email to Adam taking full responsility for the misleading advertisement but Adam didn't know the owner sent me a copy of the email as well. In that email the owner instructed Adam to stop communication with me until I signed a release that would split the escrow so that the owner got half and I would get the other half. Adam had the chance to cancel the auction according to the contract but chose not to. Adam had the chance to communicate that the owner confessed that he committed fraud but chose not to. Instead, Adam didn't return my calls until after I eventually signed the release. I signed it with a email bringing up the ethical violations of Ashland Auction and saying I was signing under duress. One thing I forgot to mention was Adam offered to communicate a different deal to the owner when I first brought up the fraudulent claim because he verbally said he was frustrated with the owner and wanted to help me out with the deal. He told me that the owner turned down my offer. Come to find out, the owner claims he accepted my offer and Adam told the owner I flaked out killing any positive communication between the owner and myself. I begged Adam to clear up the communication issue because until that moment, the owner seamed as though he was considering letting me out of the contract. To make matters worse, I found out that I wasn't the only person that lost their escrow on the same exact property from Ashland Auction just months prior. My loan officer put me in touch with a client he had from California that lost their $15,000 on that same property. According to what I can find online, this property has been under contract 3 times since March of 2023. With a profit of $15k every time someone backs out of this property, providing misleading ads and not adhering to the open house schedules becomes more lucrative than selling a dilapidated property in a developing neighborhood. Buyers beware. The property in question goes back on their auction block in the next few days.

The house, located on a beautiful tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in Dundalk, MD, was the perfect peaceful retreat during a challenging time. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property was well-loved and cared for. Our property manager, Jason Novak of PMI Old Line, was outstanding. He was incredibly responsive, always getting back to us quickly and taking care of any issues that came up. He even went above and beyond by coming out to shovel snow for us, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It really made a difference in making us feel comfortable and at home. The owners of the property truly made us feel welcome as well. They came by during the holidays and surprised us with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and lovely holiday decorations. It was such a heartwarming touch that made our time away from home feel a little brighter. We were staying in the area to receive medical treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and having this wonderful property to return to at the end of each day made our stay that much more bearable. The serene setting along the bay offered a peaceful escape, and the house itself had all the amenities we needed for a long-term stay. If you're looking for a cozy, well-maintained rental with outstanding management, I wholeheartedly recommend this property. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we will certainly keep it in mind for future trips to the area. if you're looking for a property management firm then you need to no further than PMI old line and Jason Novak.
