Decent weekly rate. Would both return and recommend. Have stayed here twice while looking for apartments.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbia East - Elkridge - Double queen with sofa bed

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Elkridge on August 14-15, 2026, and the experience was…read moreunacceptable. The first room (411) had heavy humidity, broken shower and sink fixtures, hair in one of the beds, filthy vents, and a bathroom door so swollen from moisture that it could barely open or close. There was also red or pink discoloration along the bathroom molding that looked like mold. The air felt wet and unhealthy, and freeway noise made it hard to rest. Management moved us to Room 314, but that room also had serious issues: a strong mildew smell, mold spots on the lampshade, a dirty tub, and it wasn't even the room type I reserved. The humidity and air quality problems seemed to affect the entire property. IHG chat support and the night manager were unable to resolve the situation, and at one point we were even taken back to the same unacceptable room we had already rejected. Customer Care said they could only act after checkout. By 7:30 AM, the air quality and noise were so bad that my family decided not to stay the final night. I also had a third night booked using points and cash, but I had to cancel it because the hotel could not provide a clean, safe, or acceptable room. Although the hotel was contacted several times, the General Manager, Kim, refused to contact me to remedy the matter. I was told by the marketing manager, Nita, that Kim would call me back within an hour, but no call ever came. I had to call the 1‑800 IHG number for a fourth time within minutes of speaking to the hotel again, only to find out that after three days Kim finally responded just to deny my refund request. The lack of communication and refusal to address the situation made the experience even worse. This hotel needs major maintenance and mold remediation. Staff were polite, but the conditions were not safe or comfortable. Case number: 10601927613.

Which is great for most, if you still like using cash for small purchases you should be aware. Parking lot wraps around the hotel and lights were off in the lot when we arrived at night and before sunrise so we were thankful for the thaw. Prices vary dramatically depending on whether you stay in regular or wellness rooms. I wonder if the wellness rooms are cleaner and more comfortable aside from the hypoallergenic treatment and an air filter. If you prepay for the breakfast and have an early day then you might want to reconsider. The breakfast starts at 0630. Rooms are not sound proof so be prepared to hear the noisy guests transiting the hallways and loud cars.

We arrived close to midnight, and while it's good that the property is locked for safety, we couldn't get in because only room keys worked, and we didn't have ours yet. After just a few minutes, though, we made eye contact with someone working there, who was friendly and welcoming. An intercom system could be useful here, or something of that nature? The hotel room itself was clean and well-appointed. The bed is hard, as it is at this chain, but we still slept well. What's less successful is the pillow situation. It is a room for two people, and there were three pillows. We didn't think many would be working around this time of night, so we didn't call down to bother them. But only three pillows? What's more, they were almost hilariously bad - lumpy, feeling like little more than a sack of cotton balls! Upgrade the pillows, guys!

am writing to express my serious concern regarding an incident I witnessed involving Attorney Juny…read moreE. Francois at the Home2 Suites by Hilton near Arundel Mills in Hanover, Maryland. Ms. Francois appeared to be attempting to document a complaint about her stay when hotel staff contacted the police and demanded that she leave the property or risk being arrested for trespassing. Watching a Black woman and Hilton Honors member face the threat of arrest for raising a customer-service concern was deeply disturbing. Guests should be able to submit honest feedback without being intimidated, removed, or subjected to unnecessary police involvement. Regardless of how the original disagreement began, the response appeared excessive and inconsistent with the respect, professionalism, and hospitality customers should expect from a Hilton-branded property. Because of what I witnessed, I do not feel comfortable staying at this hotel again. I stand in support of Ms. Francois and respectfully request that Hilton: 1. Conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident. 2. Review the actions of the employees and management involved. 3. Explain why law enforcement was contacted over a customer complaint. 4. Confirm what corrective action and staff training will be implemented. 5. Provide Ms. Francois with an appropriate response and resolution. This incident has seriously damaged my trust in the Hilton brand. I hope corporate leadership will treat this matter with the urgency and transparency it deserves rather than dismissing it as an isolated customer-service disagreement.

The bad: Constantly under construction with wires hanging from the ceiling. Front desk was not friendly or helpful. I had electrical outlet screws scattered across my room, 9 in total. Unfortunately, I stepped on 5 of them barefooted before I found them all. I took them to the front desk, and all she could say was, "That's weird " I asked for a water bottle fill station and she said it's in the gym. There wasn't a fill station. I told her and she said, "I guess it's not in yet" How about you learn a little about the place where you work! The shampoo bottle had been opened and the dish soap was empty. After housekeeping came, I had to ask for more soap. I inquired about checkout and if my receipt would be emailed. They said yes and 3 days later I had to call and ask for the receipt. That was an ordeal in itself. Nobody would answer the phone so I had to call the new reservation line. They keep trying to get me to buy promotional vacations and said I have to call the non reservation line. What a joke. I recommend staying somewhere else, even if you have to pay more. Not worth the aggravation. The place feels a little dirty and unkept. I will not stay here again.

NOTE: This hotel sits right next to Route 95 in the Jessup/Elkridge area. But to actually get here, you will be going through a residential area with several turns in both directions. Listen to your GPS, they will guide you here! My reservation was made for a King Suite Accessible room as I need the provided bars in the bathroom and shower for assistance and safety. The bathroom had a low entry tub and along with the installed bars, it worked for me. The room was comfortable and clean. And huge! Upon walking in, there is a living room sort of area with sofa, coffee table, desk/chair and TV. Then you walk into the area where the bathroom/tub is on one side and a sink vanity on the other side. Through another door is the bedroom area which also has a TV and padded bench for luggage or seating. There is also a closet in this room with a full length door mirror. I was on the second floor, there is an ice machine room next to the elevators, you need your room key card for entry. Shower pressure was great, water was hot enough. I slept very well. Breakfast offerings were the standard fare of various cereals, yogurt, two waffle machines and sausage and those hotel eggs. Also, bread and bagels for toasting and some packaged mini muffins. There is an indoor pool and exercise room but I did not have time to check those amenities out. DISCLAIMER: No, this is not a five-star or even a four-star hotel. But for the price, location and the fact that it met my needs, I have rated as I have.

Joe, the owner, is very kind and hard-working...he handles cleaning, cooking, yardwork (a huge lot that would take someone minimum one full day a week to take care of), greeting and guest check-in, and accounting for a 200-year-old building with six or seven rental rooms. It's an impossible task for one person, and that's clearly reflected in the property's cluttered and only lightly cleaned appearance both inside and out. Our two room "suite" was very dusty. Out of season holiday decor, stuffed animals and character decor are out of place in this historic home. The listing photos and website are quite outdated and don't show the current state. With some additional help and TLC, this place could be wonderful again.
