The service is so bad I will never be back to any Sleep Number store. Ever. I am looking for a bed and I will be buying one tomorrow, but not from Sleep Number. First, there was a sign on the door that said back in 5 minutes. Below that was a number if I wanted an "immediate" response. I did not call right away because I am not rude, I mean maybe the person is in the bathroom, I don't know. It said 5 minutes in large print. I have to be able to trust that. 12 minutes later I finally called and the employee said, "I'll be right there, I am just across the street." 5 minutes later another call and he said, "I will be right there." He did finally show up. We got in and he asked how he could help. I told him what I wanted to see and was clear that there was nothing else I wanted to see. He said he would be right there. He then got on the phone with a friend, clearly a personal call--he is loud. He stayed on that call a few minutes leaving me to wait some more. I was there on 9/1/24 at 7 pm. I don't mention horrible employees by name. He then comes up to me and asks my name. I tell him. He then calls me Miss Elizabeth. Now I can't stand that. He has no idea what my pronouns are, but I always let that go because I think it is just a bad habit. But no, he then asks my helper that was with me, I am clearly disabled, what his name is. He is a special needs person and hates to speak. He says his name and nothing else, now that should have given the salesperson a hint. It did not, he wanted to talk to the male, that was clear. I said, "He does not like to talk." That should have done it, but no, he says, "He just told me his name, he talks" and tried to talk to him and my poor helper did not respond and was clearly uncomfortable. I tried to let that go, but at this point I knew he was rude and just had to be right. I asked is this the bed. He said we make them all and anyone will be what you want. He was directing his speech to my helper. I was just so done. How unfeeling, sexist and rude. The place is very small with not a great selection. There are very few seats. It is somewhat clean, but someone get a vacuum out. I sat on the bed and it was clear it was made poorly, it is all air, that is what they say are great about their beds. If the electricity goes out, and mine has 3 times this week with the heat, your bed just will be an uncomfortable mess. And the employee told my helper to lay on the bed, not me the customer. I said no, and he said well you lay here. I mean what is his problem. Their prices are so high for what they are selling. I have now looked at ever bed on the market and know what I am going to get. Again, it won't be a sleep number. I just don't do rude and obnoxious and get off your phone. When you say 5 minutes, have it be 5 minutes or say what it is, people will wait, but you start off badly when you lie and don't even say sorry for the wait. And your beds are not great. Terrible experience and as I said I have now seen, as in been to, all the bed stores and to make a helper so uncomfortable is disguising and he assumed he was my husband and said so. Now how do you know that and why do you think that. My helper and I went home because he was upset and did later say to me, "Why did he try to make me talk when you said no talk?" I told him not to worry, that it was his rudeness and assumptions and sexism, not yours. And their warranty is weak and there are so many better beds out there and for less. read more

when I bought my 360 smart bed at the St Monica store I was told that they do not have this model for me to try. This model has heating and cooling features. However I tested a similar mattress. When my bed arrived I could not sleep! I turned the heating element on and it was too noisy. I called customer service and was transferred three times before I could speak to anyone. Finally I got through and the lady from customer service said we can't do anything about the noise! I told that I wanted to return the bed. She said you must wait 30 days before we can accept the return and the bed frame is a final sale and you need to pay $250.00 to have it removed. You think when you pay more than $14,000.00 for a bed you get a better service! Very disappointed with the bed and customer service. Please do not fall in this trap. I joined a dear friend at the Sleep number in Santa Monica Last week. Joshua B. was the finest salesman (but really the face of sleep number) I have ever known. Very attentive, very knowledgeable, he is a ball of light when it comes to making sure the new owner of one of these beds is completely satisfied. Sleep is so important for health reasons, and he not only helped her choose the exact mattress set she needed, he also helped me discover the difference. I just understood that this mattress isn't about just colder or hotter, I actually could see the places that my body felt as too much pressure for my body and the technology I was experiencing then adjusted the firmness to be totally aligned with what I needed to sleep well. We went to find a bed. The selection at this store was not very good. The store was also not very clean. The customer service was poor, but there was only one person there to begin with. He was a hard sell type of person and I don't care for that. The beds are filled with air and that is what I found out they are known for. When we left because of the poor service, we thought we would just go to another, that was until I read about their class action lawsuit for having the air mattress fill with mold. I can't have that. Also, I did not find the bed I tried at the first store to be very uncomfortable and it looked to be made cheaply. I am on the look out for a different bed. I can't write a review yet on the mattress itself because it has to be reordered and another gruesome delivery rescheduled. I will say that Joshua made the buying experience fabulous. I bought a condo and am excited to move in. First thing I did was, on advice of friends and brokers, buy a Sleep Number mattress. I can't move until the sleeping situation is complete. The delivery lag time is extraordinarily long. A pet peeve of mine is when I spend a fortune on something and have no control over the delivery times. I always request an afternoon time slot and most businesses with white glove delivery accommodate this. Not Sleep Number! Made me commute and be there at 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday. Opposite of my preference! Yesterday was the delivery day. After all this wait, the brand new and expensive mattress was delivered with a black diagonal stain running the length of the mattress. The wonderful delivery team said this happened at the warehouse. You mean to tell me there is no quality control? This is not a cheap discount mattress! How can you let this mattress be wrapped and ready to leave your warehouse like that? So now my move-in date is again delayed while I wait for a replacement mattress. An hour after this disaster I got a call from Sleep Number in Minneapolis-St.Paul to set up the next delivery date. I was called by the most unpleasant, unprofessional, rude and disrespectful male. After all I went through I feel I deserve to choose a date and time for the next delivery. Once again I was told there's no guarantee and that "This conversation is over." Been needing new sheets for some time now, and randomly decided to stop into Sleep Number "just to see" sheets in person and ended up walking out with a new Supima set and a True Temp blanket! We left the store in such a happy mood and talked about how we needed to remember to write a review for Joshua. My partner always complains about how no one cares about personal interactions or providing great customer service anymore, but as soon as we got into the car he said, "THAT'S customer service!" First off, I'm NOT surprised to see all the other raving reviews about Joshua because he really is as amazing as everyone says! We loved his energy as soon as we stepped into the store - even as he was already helping another customer. We picked out a few sheets he laid out for us; while he ran a few quotes, he had us test drive a couple of their best mattresses. An expert multi-tasker! While we currently have a Tempur-Pedic, we definitely are sold on a Sleep Number when we're ready for an upgrade. I'm sure Joshua received a commission off our sale, but I really wanted to take the time to write a review in hopes all this overwhelmingly positive feedback for him gets him a promotion/raise/bonus because he is more than deserving! He truly and genuinely went above and beyond for everyone that walked in! (If nothing else, I hope he knows how much he is appreciated!) I was so excited to get my new Sleep Number Mattress! After just 1 hour laying on it my lungs started hurting. Taking a deep breath became painful, then I got a headache and my eyes were burning. I noticed the mattress was emitting an odor similar to paint. I contacted customer support who kept forwarding me to a supervisor who would then just disconnect my call. Then I started googling to find that there were lawsuits against this company. Also that evidently their mattresses emit toxic gas fumes called "off gassing". I have never heard of this term before and evidently that's what their mattresses do. They emit toxic fumes for 3 weeks. That is what Ronica told me in their customer service dept. The label on their mattress says it's made of Polyethylene Foam, which produces the most off gassing of any mattress material and it's the cheapest. Sleep Number Corp agreed to give me a FULL REFUND and they are picking up the toxic mattress. I just bought a new mattress called Maxim and it literally has no smell at all! No noxious fumes whatsoever. It's made of organic latex. read more

I told him we were still shopping around so he knew we weren't necessarily buying yet but he treated us with the utmost kindness, professionalism and amazingly enthusiastic energy! A few weeks ago I bought a Sleep Number bed for thousands of dollars. The delivery was scheduled for 10 days later, which was today. The guys arrived and I was all set to get my bed set up. When they got here, they informed me that they would not be able to move my bed because I have an adjustable frame and they are not allowed to move an adjustable frame. I had stripped the bed, moved furniture around to make it easier for them, and changed an appt so I could be here at their scheduled delivery time. Since they would not move the bed and frame, they left and I had to reschedule, meaning I will be waiting another 10 days. Why didn't they tell me when I scheduled that their people will not move an adjustable frame? I could have made other arrangements. Furthermore, why didn't the salesman at the store tell me they wouldn't move an adjustable frame? If Sleep Number is scared of their people damaging an adjustable frame, the solution is easy: Have a waiver for the buyer to sign stating that they will not hold Sleep Number liable if there is any damage. And how much damage could they cause -- the bed was only being moved from the bedroom to the garage because I'm giving it away. I had a sleep number bed before and really loved it, which is why I ordered another one. But now that I am reading the reviews, it seems that many people are not very happy. I am hopeful that nothing will go wrong when they come back or I will cancel the whole deal. What a disappointment. I am sorry now that I didn't read the reviews and go somewhere else for my bed. read more

I purchased the P6 about 18 months ago and was very uncomfortable so I exchanged it for the I8. An absolute complete waste of a lot of money. It is no more comfortable 18 months later than my bed of 20 years. I am so sorry that I wasted so much money as still wake up with aches and pains, hip pain, and uncomfortable night sleep no matter what pressure I have tried and used. This mattress has given me neck and back pain for the whole 2.5 years I have had it. Even under warranty they did nothing to help my sleep experience. I would not recommend it again to anyone in search of a good bed. Customer service was very nice, but I paid $3,000.00 for mine and they had to send some parts back because the mattress leaked...and it still does. Possibly even worse than the last. It sucks because spending that much on a bed, you would think it would help your sleep experience, but not at all with these beds. I did not get it from the Santa Monica store. I am SO disappointed and frustrated with the service received from Sleep Number. I have ever left a bad review in the past, but I was cheated by the staff at Sleep Number and this is just not ok!!!! Sleep Number is very dishonest, make sure you read the terms and conditions on the return policy before purchasing a bed and believing a sales person who tells you that you will get a FULL refund. Though they tell you that you have 100 days to try and and if you it doesn't work for you, you will get a FULL refund, that statement is NOT TRUE. At no point in time is it ever mentioned verbally that NOT ONLY they will keep the original delivery fee, but they will ALSO charge you a $199 pick up fee upon return. So, you lose $398 overall if you want to return your item!!!! If there is one thing I really don't appreciate, it's dishonesty and mis-leading information. When speaking to a customer service representative, this is what they answered: "Thanks for sharing your additional feedback, and I've made sure to forward them along for you. If you have any questions for us down the road, please give us a call at 1-888-411-2270 from 8AM-8PM CST M-F. ^Cory" This reflects very bad on the company. Unless you know for a fact that this bed is for you, do not waste your time trying it out, they won't tell you about the extra fees, but you'll still have to pay them. read more

I have a sleep number bed. The bed lost it's inflation as the chamber went bad. So, the local store directed me to the customer service 1800-472-7185 number. I've spent the last hour calling and was on hold for 20 minutes and another time 5 minutes before both messages ended in they are experiencing a high call volume and to try my call again later. That was after I was holding for a customer service rep. So, I called the store back and they said they would fill out a form and someone would get back to me within 48 hours. That's a long time to not have a bed... and the warranty also goes down in percentages, so I will have to pay the full price for the chamber part. So, the 25 year warranty goes down to nothing very quickly. It's really a 2 year warranty. Not too happy because of the very poor customer service. We are so disappointed in sleep number customer service. We ordered our bed on October 30 and were told it would arrive to our house within 2 to 4 weeks. They explained they have a new computer system and orders are taking longer to process. We were ok with this. Well 4 weeks came and still no bed or tracking number or any correspondence from Sleep Number so I called into their customer service line. The representative told me our order had been cancelled and resubmitted on November 25. I told her we did not do that and she went on to tell me that it was our fault because there is no way for them to cancel an order without customer approval. Wth!!!!! Seriously you are going to blame the customer for your mistakes!! Then she went on to tell me there was nothing else she could do for me even though it was completely their fault. Blaming the customer was the last straw for me. I'm waiting for a call back from a manager but we are considering canceling our order due to the lack of competence and respect from their customer service line. After hours on hold and with their incompetent staff, they finally said they would send out their second new mattress-- the first one didn't work and got soft right after the inept installers left --. Today, after another two weeks of waiting, they hadn't delivered a new mattress or new parts, the installers came with no parts, found this 2nd mattress was broken, as was the remote control. They left, saying they would report all this to their supervisor and he would call us later today. Guess what? He never called. Walked into this store 3 weeks ago, needing a change, I wasn't sleeping well. Andres gave me a thorough presentation answering all of my questions and concerns. Went back twice with a few more questions and both Adam and Ricky continued with great service and were extremely helpful. SOLD. Timing was met with accessories being delivered on time to the house prior to bed delivery and assembly. Bed also was delivered WITH promised time and date. Assembly crew then spent time going over operational procedures, EASY. This will be my third night with the bed and what a difference this bed makes. I am refreshed every morning, and have extra energy at the end of the evening. Once again I am looking forward to going to sleep on this great bed!!! If your health is worth $500.00, then buy a cheap traditional mattress. If your health means everything to you, seriously consider a Sleep Number!!! Andres, Ricky, and Adam, you guys rock,!!! My husbands sleep number is 100 mine is supposed to be 55 but at 55 it feels like I'm sleeping on an air mattress like a bubble. I call to set up the return on this $8000 bed to find the base is a final sale (3,000), which they failed to mention to me at all As they quickly had me sign the contract and he was highlighting all the main points on the contract still failed to mention that. The salesman, Delano, at this store is tops! But I feel sorry for the store because Sleep Number Headquarters in Minnesota won't let stores do anything! They can't get a bed that you ordered and have you pick it up. They can't accept returns. All decisions have to be forwarded to HQ to be decided - good luck. But the thing that really gets me is the headquarters obnoxious system of communication with a customer. The morning before a delivery, the computer in Minnesota calls your home at 5am pacific time! So the first time it happened, I called the HQ and found a human to speak with. She listened to me, then explained that it's the computer 's fault. I'm sure a human made the settings on the computer and could you please change the settings. And now three months later, a maintenance truck is coming, and my phone woke me up at 5am again! So be sure if you buy a SN bed, remember two things: the frame isn't returnable (and the barely affordable frames are just cheap plastic snap-togethers), and turn your phone off the days before a truck is scheduled. read more

We recently travelled to Los Angeles, CA for the weekend... we stayed in a very nice hotel and got the best night sleep in years. I made it my mission that weekend to purchase a Sleep Number split king bed in order to replace our existing king coil mattress back in AK. Over the course of the next 2 days, I visited several Sleep Number stores in California. I finally went to the Santa Monica Sleep Number store, and was greeted by Adam the store manager. The store was clean and bright and parking was hassle free. Adam was easy to talk and more than willing to take the time to educate me on the science of sleep. I didn't feel rushed. Adam was extremely helpful and informative in assisting in making the purchase of a Sleep Number i10 smart bed 360 with flex3 base. I scheduled delivery for a particular day in February. The bed arrived at my home in Anchorage on that day and was set up by a team of professionals. Adam kept me informed throughout the entire process and was great about returning phone calls. Adam Thorne is one of the best customer service oriented individuals I have seen in any field of business in quite sometime. When you are purchasing the top-of-the-line unit, its great to know you're getting the customer service that comes with it. We have been sleeping great since it arrived, no getting up in the middle of the night, no cold feet, no snoring. Love the under bed light feature. The best part is getting out of bed in the morning and not feeling tired or sore! This store sold me a mattress and other items and mentioned a return policy that would cover the entire amount of my purchase, less the cost to return the purchase. Upon trying to manage the return, I was told that a number of items aren't part of the policy. Overall it's a bit of a shady buying experience and the mattress is not worth it for the prices they charge. And if you decide you don't like it, their "money back" policy is pretty awful and shady. It's nice when you feel like you are being taken care of and not just getting sold things. I cannot wait to get into my brand new slice of heaven called the i10. wow! I wrote this before I went through the nightmare they call customer service! After being told it would be easy to switch my bed, so go for the more expensive one... I have been through hell with sleep number. First off it's a 30 min wait to talk to anyone in the Delievry... Then they didn't process my exchange the first 2 times... On the third time (3hours of phone time later) they call me to schedule Delievry. The driver calls me in the am to confirm... Then never shows up, and he won't answer his phone. Then sleep number calls me 4 hours later to let me know, the bed was never on the truck. Flash forward to now where the customers service manager won't get on the phone with me. And in all of this I called the store I bought my bed from, they offered me the 1800 on their website to call. Their was no effort to help. read more
