So I bought a mattress in 2022. It was a compromise for both myself and my husband at the time. However, not long after purchasing this mattress, I had started feeling not great in the mornings; sore. It morphed into pain in my neck, shoulder, back and eventually my hip. Headaches, pain, you name it. Following up on a possible new mattress purchase over Memorial Day weekend, I was told that my mattress was still covered under warranty (I had forgotten) and arranged for a mattress assessment. I was approved for a mattress exchange from the manufacturer. So I visited SIT N SLEEP in Culver City. I finally picked out a much better mattress for me (and me alone). Larry at the Culver City store helped me finalize my exchange - he patiently answered all my questions, helped square everything away and went above and beyond to help me and give me a fabulous experience. NOPE!!! I bought a mattress yesterday. Everything felt good, the sales person was very friendly (Larry) yet he told me that they will replace the mattress with a small fee, he will make sure I will be happy with my purchase and he will take care of everything if I have any issues. First, lets take a look at the scammy trick they do, they sell $120 mattress protector for $240.Then they make a $100 discount on mattress protector to act like they waived shipping fee of $99. In fact, you still pay for shipping fee because they are selling you the mattress protector with original price, simply by removing extra $100 they add it. I wasn't able to sleep all night and I had to switch to my couch to be able to sleep. I called them first thing in the morning to tell them that it was impossible to sleep on that mattress and if they can replace it with a little softer version. The customer center told me that they are not accepting any returns before 30 days and I have to pay 20% restocking fees. First of all 20% is not a small fee, it is 500$ and I have to pay another delivery fee + have to wait for 30 days to do replacement. I simple have to be tortured for 30 days. Same thing from sales person, he will do everything for you to buy, I told him that I could buy this product from amazon or other companies that offer free returns and replacement. He told me I should trust him and he always makes sure his customers are happy. He will resolve everything if I have any concerns. In fact, he seemed genuine until this morning. His offered solution was to walk on the bed and it will get softer. So funny! Most mattress companies do free replacement. You can buy exact the same brands from amazon. You wont need to wait for 30 days to return and you wont have to pay for 20% restocking fee to return. It is a borderline scam. Stay away from this place. read more

I walked in knowing my existing bed is well past its prime (Like me). From shopping around and wanting quality because it is my body, I decided not to go with social media and went for the proven method of trying out the mattresses in person and checking out the variety. Larry L was there greet me and we immediately hit it off. Heck of a nice person. We chatted for a bit he asked me about what I was looking for and he decided on a few different styles, but all the same firmness. Larry knows his stuff when I laid down it was the perfect firmness I was looking for. He didn't rush me and didn't pressure me which was a great plus. I'm a little late posting this update but I want to say Sit N Sleep did remedy the problem the day after I posted my original review. Customer service refunded me for the full cost of the bed beam and my original delivery fee. So far I'm loving my new mattress and since they did remedy the situation I am open to using them again in the future. I'm just hoping my new mattress will last a long time so I won't have to be back for a while. read more

Wanted to give a quick update... Customer service and Store manager worked with me to arrange a mattress exchange and get a firmer more supportive mattress. At the end of the day I got a better mattress but again had to spend more money which wasn't my plan overall. It took several nights, weeks for my body to acclimate to the new mattress which to note was much firmer than the in store model I tried. *Advice for store....please switch out models more frequently to give customers a better idea of the mattress they will be sleeping on for 10 years. My body never fully adjusted to the new mattress due to the firmness and although the firmness was better my body was still in pain. I was tired of not sleeping well. I ended purchasing a 3" foam topper (additional money) I had to spend. This changed my life and sleeping. It was so comfortable, cushioned, and eased my back pain in just a few nights, more than my new mattress. Not sure why this kind of topper isn't built into my "euro top" mattress? I don't know when buying a mattress turned into a similar process as buying a car but what a headache. I guess I'm stuck with this mattress until I'm ready to spend another couple thousand on a new mattress. *advice....if you stand behind your products why is your return/exchange policy so tight and only 30 days? All other mattress companies offer 1 year warranty which makes you feel more comfortable spending 1-3k on a mattress. Walked into the store with my boyfriend and was instantly greeted and told that a salesperson, Casey, will be helping us today and will be right with us. Casey was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He had us do a little test to see what mattresses would be best for us. We tested some mattresses and after each one he asked if that was good or was it too firm or soft. At the end we found the perfect mattresses for my boyfriend and I. We also were looking for bed frames and he was able to guide us to what was best. We went with a platform bed frame. Casey gave us a great deal, it fit in our budget, for the mattress and frame. I ordered a mattress online for a family member on a Saturday thinking it would be delivered on that Monday. When I went to track the delivery Monday morning, I saw the delivery date was actually for that Thursday. I desperately needed that mattress delivered on Monday. I called Sit 'n Sleep Culver City -- that's where I have always purchased my mattresses -- and connected with Larry. I shared the reason why the mattress was immediately needed and was blown away by Larry's empathetic care of my situation. Customer Service had told me the soonest they could do was the next day (which I thought was very generous), but Larry wasn't satisfied. It turned out that the fabulous bed and movable frame that we bought did not function properly. For some unknown reason, the bed would fold itself into "zero gravity" (you gotta try that!) but the foot section did not return to flat. We called Cleat and he said, "Hmmm, never seen that problem before, let me call our team." Within minutes, someone called from the Cloud (Heaven?) - it was a robot voice - who said "Someone will be there tomorrow between 2:30 and 5:30." At 2:05 the next day, we received another call, "Your service will arrive in the next 10 minutes." The service guys -- a little buffy (they haul around mattresses, after all, and that mechanism under the bed is HEAVY!). (They should put those little disposable shoe protectors on, by the way -- a piece of constructive criticism.) Those guys came in, took a look, and said, "Oh! This needs to be plugged in!" And Voila! Done! Working like a charm. I won't go into all the whys and wherefores why you should shop at Sit N Sleep, but let me just say that under-mattress thingy puts you in zero gravity position; or sits you up to watch TV; or raises your legs; or lays you flat -- whatever you like. Heather is in LOVE with the zero gravity -- and it relieves my snoring! Last thing to say: We stopped in yesterday to pick up an extra pillow cover and ran into the magnificent sales lady, Amanda. She was fast, efficient, super helpful and she, like Cleat, is a Doctor of Mattresses (Matt.D.). You might notice how the salespeople at Culver City Sit N Sleep are super attractive. Amanda told us that their whole team is there on Sundays (Cleat got every other Sunday off -- perhaps for his almost-as-adorable-as-me six month old baby). I looked around -- they were all busy with customers; no one was waiting; and by the way, the showroom is HUGE! All kinds of variety. All the sales people, I noticed, were good looking. Hmmm. Is that something INTENTIONAL when people hire people who sell mattresses? Speaking of people who hire people, it was noteworthy that both Cleat and Amanda mentioned the store's owners -- two guys who I assumed are older than dirt -- but they spoke of them fondly. You could hear it in their voice: they love the people they work for and they love their work. My only disappointment -- we won't need another mattress until their 10 year warranty wears off. Take that back! We can renew our sheets and pillows at the Culver City store. Speaking of sheets, we bought two sets of the "Tencel" PureCare sheets and pillow cases. They provide what Cleat promised: "No matter what hotel you've been to, or will go to -- one that provides a great bed -- you'll want to come home to your own bed." I tried buying online and then the prices kept fluctuating like I see a price it was supposedly on sale but then I called the store because the online price went up 50%. I was very clear in what I wanted I wanted a platform bed and a mattress I was possibly going to buy the mattress but when I talk to the salesman about a platform type frame I remarked that's really expensive it was like 3 to 400 dollars and I know the used market on those is like absolutely nothing but the crazy thing was instead of selling me the mattress the salesman told me that I should just shop Goodwill I've bought from you guys before how the F dare you say something like that I will never ever go to your store and I could have referred you multiple people. I bought a bed. Extra firm. A month later, I'm sinking in bed, getting up w/ pain, & minimal sleep. I called & asked for someone to come out & check bed. They sent a new mattress, which I didn't ask for. The men said they have to deliver mattress. It didn't take long for the mattress to sink. It's been about a year. My husband & I went to store . I told salesperson I needed x-tra firm. He shows us mattresses & I said this is an exchange. He showed us a KingKoil & said this is made for fat people. I said that's discrimination. He also said we're not getting a new mattress. We have to pay. He said have the mattress checked. Guy came out to check mattress. He put his hand on it & he said this is defective, but when he put his cardboard on it, it barely went down. I called customer service, 3 times. No response. I hated to threaten them, but I did. Next day, I'm told I can exchange mattress. I go to another SnS. We pick out a mattress, the mgr. was 'extremely' talkative. This was not an exchange. We paid $2300 & change for old mattress. New one is 3,000. We had to pay difference. As soon as the delivery guys left, we sat & lay down and this did not feel like the one in the store. Store was extremely hard, this is moderately soft. I have no recourse at this time. We're stuck. I went through so much stress & frustration to get what I originally ordered. SnS has many, very large, showrooms. They 'need' to make sales. My advice is to go to a mom & pop place . SnS did not give me what I experienced in their showroom. read more

I went in to purchase a mattress and was immediately greeted and a sales representative came over to see what my needs were Casey took excellent care of me and we got exactly what I needed they were able to ship the mattress the next day complete with set up. The gentleman that showed up were Alan and Fran. Do you know when people show up and they were like not happy and they have bad attitudes? That was the complete opposite. They showed up with great attitudes, took charge, got the stuff up...it's not easy to deliver to the Marina and it's kind of confusing. They found it they got in, they delivered. They were done within a half an hour and off to the next delivery. I gave them a generous tip because they deserved it I don't think people appreciate the work that service people put in.
