Normally I write stay reviews at the end of my stay but this time I want to take a second and write it fresh from being checked in. Let me say that I am from Orlando, Florida which is the capital of theme parks and hospitality-service industry. I also worked for theme parks including Disney so I am familiar with the service industry. The young lady at the front desk named Kelly I believe checked me in Saturday evening and she was A-mazing! She was super nice and friendly throughout the process. She also took time out and asked me questions about why I came to Boone and what she suggested I should see and do. She also suggested a few local restaurants. She then popped out her maps from the side of her desk and took time to mark on them the recommend places on the map. I don't know who hired her, but you should try your hardest to make sure she is happy at work because Kelly Rocks. Great 1st impression. I hope my stay is just as pleasant as the 1st 20 minutes of my check in. Someone make sure Kelly gets a raise and commended for a job well done. read more

Upon checking into my room, is seemed clean, upon further inspection of the bed we found alive bedbugs. Ruined our trip and we are forever horrified of hotels. Thankful we checked the beds upon brining in our items! read more

We were in town for a graduation ceremony. We weren't familiar with the sleep in so we were a little cautious about how it would turn out because it wasn't one of our Marriott or Hilton stays. I have to say we loved it - my favorite part of everything at the hotel was their bed and linens! Oh my God! Absolutely the best betting I've had in a long time... except for ourshome I mean.) read more

College orientation dictates we come the night before so we booked 2 rooms here. The online reservations were user friendly and easy to do. The loony was clean and bright. A friendly desk attendant booked us in. Free water bottles at the front desk if you needed one. The rates were under $100 for each room which is good for a college town. The rooms were clean and prepped completely. Fresh towels and bed linens were neatly done. The room was everything we needed for our nights stay. The AC worked great. Cooked the room right down. The shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water. There wasn't any noise in the hall during the night. This had been an issue at other hotels in other cities but we all got a good night's sleep. We will definitely book them again. read more

I've been writing for Yelp for a while but I'm not sure I've ever had to ask how to rate a hotel a zero. This has got to be one of the worst and most inconvenient nights ever in a hotel, and I've stayed in some pretty bad ones. The first issue was when we walked into the first room and looked around we found something that looked like vomit in the sink. Chunks of rice and black shit dried on like it had been there a while. The front desk apologized and switched us rooms. Issue number 2. We got back from dinner and started to watch a movie. I went to change my contacts and there was water raining from the ceiling tiles. We went down to the front desk and they said a toilet backed up above us. So now it donned on us that fecal matter was coming through the ceiling in a time of COVID-19. Our hands are tied, the other hotels are full and the front desk said it's out of their power to do anything with no access to a manager. Utterly disgusting Avoid this place at all costs... read more

Sleep Inn - A flooded toilet from above rained down through the ceiling! - Hotels Near Me - Boone, North Carolina

This hotel is in a really good area and the price is cheap. What you sacrifice is customer service, of which in my experience there was none. I have used this hotel before, and the experience was better, but this time they did not care about my problem It is a billing issue and their response was unhelpful at a record setting level read more

It may not be in downtown Boone but it isn't far. Super friendly and helpful front desk. After an all day drive we had a very pleasant stay here. It was nice, clean and restful. Did i mention how friendly everyone is. Great place! read more

They don't have to be this great, but there they are. Ever since we first came here a few years back this has been our go to spot. It's always clean, friendly, and quiet. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and generally have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. WiFi is free, breakfast is free, and parking is free. The breakfast is decently varied with options for bagels and sweet breads, cereal, muffins and pastries, as well as fresh milk, tea, and coffee. In our last visit they were testing new hot breakfast options like scrambled eggs, so within the coming months it will get even better! To everyone that I know I recommend this hotel for an affordable and comfortable night stay, you can be assured it's clean and to me that's worth more than anything. You're within an 1 1/2 hr of Mt. Mitchel, 30 mins away from Blowing Rock and generally within 5 minutes of Walmart, Publix, Wendy's, McDonalds and several other restaurants and shopping locations. read more

Basic at its best. I booked this hotel for the weekend because we had stayed here about 5 years ago. Wow what a change in the time. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. The bed and pillows were decent. So let's get down to the things that I thought were odd. Shower in the room-was obviously a tub before. I'm guessing there was some kind of water damage and they ripped out the tub surrounds and just did walk in showers. Which is fine....however it's walk in and turn the corner and magically a shower head appears. I would suggest they add lighting....the light off the vanity just isn't enough. The towels were thin....but clean. Not sure why some rooms have fridges and some don't. It would have been nice to have. This isn't a roadside motel, which would be ok to not have one. This is in town and is usually standard for the brand. Decor is outdated. The walls and floors are are super thin. I could hear everything above me and next to me. Outdoor heated pool is nice & clean. However on the way out the door to the pool is where the hotel staff seems to smoke. Not a fan of that. They shouldn't be smoking or taking their break in hotel guests common areas. Just my opinion. They have a game room....which isn't a game room. It's a room with some tables and chairs for board games I'm guessing???? Complimentary breakfast is passable if you want something light and carb loaded. Otherwise hit a local spot for better options. I'm not sure I'd here again given the decline of the hotel. read more

Sleep Inn - Outdoor heated pool - Hotels Near Me - Boone, North Carolina

Visited Boone 26-28 November 2021 and stayed at Sleep Inn. Issues: 1. Floor not vacuumed/ really dirty 2. Dirty underware in corner of room 3. Spoke to management about room condition but due to local game all rooms full, mgmt stated they would clean and comp 1 night stay. 4. Left Sat am, came back Sat pm to room still dirty and same dirty underware in corner of room. Moved rooms that night. 5. Sleep Inn in Boone erroneously or maliciously debited my account 6 times totaling $2,245.00. As of today, I have only received a fraction of money owned. Staff is stating they have done all they can do. GM is unavailable and does not return calls or multiple message attempts. Staff states they have issued all credits but still shorts my account. read more

I don't normally complain or write reviews but I'm hoping my experience will help you. I was charged $100 for "carpet damage" because housekeeping had to vacuum our room after checking out. I have two toddlers and stayed two nights there with no housekeeping so obviously there were crumbs in the floor. After speaking with the general manager Jessica I was told that it took too much time to vacuum and they normally don't vacuum the rooms. Also want to add that prior to me checking in I don't think our room was cleaned. There were dirty towels in the bathroom and one hanging on the back of the door. I had to go down and ask for towels. There was hair all in the bathroom including the beds. Pretty disgusting considering I was charged for vacuuming. I travel a lot and have never been charged for vacuuming. read more

If you don't mind a half dozen hairs in the bathroom, walls so thin you can hear your neighbors snoring, and the folks above you sound like a herd of buffalo, go for it. But don't be surprised if you check out at 9am, headed for the slopes, and all of the bag breakfasts are already gone, with no alternative offered. It's a firm no from me read more

I need to give a shout out to Mason! He is a keeper he literally went out of his way to go get me ice on the first floor apparently there isn't an ice machine on the second or third floor that I could find ! Also he made sure I had a room with a tub! Great personality and professional! He is definitely an asset! read more

Front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. Have not seen housekeeping except when I have sought them out. Today I just put my trash out in the hallway. The breakfast is in a bag which is fine. Coffee ALL DAY would be a huge improvement. The BIGGEST problem here is the absolute lack of parking. So many hotels crammed in a such a little space and they are building another hotel 50 yards away from this one. Where are people going to park? read more

3 stars is exactly how I feel. A-OK. Not fantastic, not bad. Just fine and the right price for a work night. I don't think I'd stay here if I was coming for the weekend or for a "getaway", but it's simple and straight forward. The hotel is nice and rustic from the outside, they have an outdoor pool with lounge chairs. Leslie checked me in and she was really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fine, no meats - but oatmeal, yogurt, make-your-own-waffle, and some baked goods. The room was clean and well stocked. Be aware that all outdoor spaces are smoker friendly. My room was facing the pool and periodically smelled like smoke throughout the night even though all of the rooms are non-smoking. I don't know how they can fix this other than making smoke-free outdoor areas too? So, it's just that. Fine. A-OK. I'll probably stay here again for a work trip. read more

This hotel was the definition of basic... There was nothing that seemed to go above and/or beyond... The bath towels and cloths were threadbare, the bathtub floor creaked incessantly as I showered (I mean, really... Am I THAT big or is the tub just that unstable? I was on the second floor, so neither of those thoughts were comforting...), the fruit at the breakfast was brown inside (apples AND bananas), the pillows were quite lumpy and our door would not automatically close behind us because the spring was broken... On the upside, the coffee was great, the room didn't have that standard hotel mildew smell, the bed was relatively comfortable and it was close to everything we needed... read more

This hotel looks great- it really does. we had a room with a beautiful bathroom and a beautiful bed frame, a beautiful entertainment stand and....the WORST mattress I have ever slept on. I literally could have slept better in my car. Why throw so much money into everything else and ignore the primary reason people are there? SLEEP! I was so exhausted the next day. I assume people stay at places like this because they are on a budget...well save your money and stay in your car! it is more comfortable! I swear! read more

I was highly pleased with my stay at the Boone, NC, Sleep Inn. First, my room was top-notch in every respect (great king-size bed, refrigerator, couch, warm and tasteful decoration), yet it was the cheapest comparable room in the area. Additionally, I ended up needing the room for an additional night, totally unplanned, and not only did I get it, but at the same reduced rate (and with zero hassles, taking literally minutes over the phone). The staff I interacted with were friendly and attentive, and I experience no problems with my stay. There was a complimentary breakfast, but I was on a medical fast at the time of my stay, so I can't comment in this regard (it smelled good, anyway). Granted, I was a bachelor traveling solo, with minimal needs; but, for what it's worth, my experience couldn't have been better. My thanks goes out to all associated with this hotel. Thank you for your service (when I was much in need). read more

One of the worst places The customer service was so bad here. I've never been treated so poorly by any hotel. I've been a diamond member for years. Apparently only the comfort inn and quality in have good service. read more

Very clean room. Receptionist was awesome at check in. Easy access and parking is a breeze.

The staff overbooked the hotel. We were supposed to have 2 doubles for 4 people; but instead we got a king and a tiny pull-out couch. When we asked for sheets and pillows for the couch, they gave us oversized sheets, and the only pillow they had left. They were going to charge us a higher price had we not asked about the price differential with the new room. One of our group had to sleep on the floor. The bathroom was sub-par. I understand it's a busy season for the hotel but it was disappointing. Parking was also difficult. read more

This hotel was absolutely awesome. From the bathroom to the breakfast room everything was immaculate and clean and the service was impeccable. The rate was great and its hard to beat this if you are wanting a nice place to stay in Boone. read more

As far as mid-grade hotels go, this one wasn't the best I've been to, but it wasn't too shabby, either. We stayed in a room with 2 doubles, the cheapest option (about $72 total after a AAA discount plus taxes and fees). The beds were comfy, though seemed somehow smaller than a regular double (but maybe I've just grown so accustomed to a Queen that anything less seems miniscule by comparison.) The mattress cover and fitted sheet kept coming up off the corner of the bed by my head, which is a personal pet peeve. AC was good and cold when we got there, and responded appropriately to the digital readout, so it was easy to control the temperature to our liking. The bathroom was pleasantly spacious, and the shower had good water pressure and hot water. Weirdly, though, there was no fan in the bathroom, which I would have thought was a gimme by now in any place that is going to have a daily steam buildup (ahem, like a hotel bathroom, ahem). The fridge is TINY (about the size of a large microwave), so don't expect to stick much in it. TV was fine - not flat or overly big, but the picture and sound were decent, and we could tune in to HBO to catch the latest ep of True Blood. If you're a low-carber or diabetic, you're gonna have a bad time with the breakfast options. Choices are limited to muffins and bagels, cold cereal and oatmeal packets, apples and bananas, and DIY waffles. Everyone, including myself and Husband, had some trouble with the waffles sticking to the cooking irons most undesirably, so after just two minutes of cook time you could look forward to enjoying a nice hot pile of waffle shreds. Yum yum. They did set out little plastic cups of refrigerated sweet strawberry topping (you know what I'm talking about - that red goo that shows up on top of pancakes and inside of lower-quality pies) to go with the waffles, which was a slightly better alternative compared to the packets of maple-flavored HFCS also provided. I think. While there were some minor annoyances, the room appeared clean, we were able to take long, hot showers, and got a quiet, restful night of sleep, which are really the only things that truly matter in a hotel stay. The staff were also notably friendly, which we appreciated. read more

Just what we wanted... Reasonable price, clean, in town, friendly. Ashley a great hostess. Very helpful.

Horrible stay first off they gave us the wrong rooms that we had called and reserved prior to arrival the staff was rude and lazy the beds are uncomfortable the water in the shower takes and hour to get warm not hot but warm there was some black grime falling out of the cracks in the shower before even attempting to take a shower and the heater and ac where broken and the rooms where poorly up kept for the money we paid for this poor service nasty rooms was a waste of time would of had a better night sleep in the car I recommend going to another hotel and pay more then ever go back to that dump again read more

Really people! What do you expect out of Sleep Inn? I am a Choice Privilege customer and usually stay at Comfort Suites, but for this quick trip to the mountains chose this Choice hotel. For the money, it couldn't have been better! Front desk clerk upon check in was most accommodating, hotel was very clean and quiet (and they were booked). Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was continental- which is what one usually expects! Overall great experience! Not sure why you received negative reviews Sleep Inn other than some in life just feel it is a natural right to always complain! Keep up the good work Sleep, we'll be back! read more

We stay in a lot of hotels, I'm not a light sleeper. There have been screaming children running the halls and slamming doors since we checked in. I had to switch rooms because our first room had 10 teenagers just sitting in the hallway. These must be the cheapest and thinnest walls. Oh and twice someone has tried to get into our room and when I left to pick up the boys from skiing the TV was on to drown out the stomping and screaming. When we got back someone had turned it off. Super creepy. read more

Comfy bed. Clean room. Okay price. We could see a mountain (and Subaru dealership) from our room! They had a cute little game room and the breakfast was tasty, just not all that varied. We were told there was an indoor pool and Jacuzzi in the building by the sort-of unhelpful desk clerk. After a night on King Street, we wanted a relaxing swim. Well... there's neither of those. Turns out they're in a nearby fitness center, but a white lie is still a lie. Overall we enjoyed our short stay. read more

This hotel was bad, like get on yelp and review it right away bad. First, it is extremely overpriced. When we got there we were sent to three different rooms all in varying states of disarray. The one we were left in was clean on the surface. But the folded towels were dirty. There were visible stains on the comforter. I kid you nt there was moldy coffee in the coffee pot. So I report these issues and leave for a few hours. They did not clean the room. In fact, in the three days we were there they cleaned the room exactly zero times. Just don't choose the sleep inn if you are staying in beautiful Boone. An empty dorm room would be more comfortable. read more

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend Boone trip. While it won't blow you away, it had what we needed. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean and had the usual amenities. Breakfast was served every morning, but we didn't end up trying it. The best part of this place was the staff! Daniel at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He suggested many places to eat and hangout. I'd stay there again since we got a great rate and the staff were really nice. read more

This hotel has been recently updated, I think. The rooms look better than the pictures. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, front desk staff was friendly & efficient.
