A flooded toilet from above rained down through the ceiling!
Gabriel W.

I've been writing for Yelp for a while but I'm not sure I've ever had to ask how to rate a hotel a zero. This has got to be one of the worst and most inconvenient nights ever in a hotel, and I've stayed in some pretty bad ones. The first issue was when we walked into the first room and looked around we found something that looked like vomit in the sink. Chunks of rice and black shit dried on like it had been there a while. The front desk apologized and switched us rooms. Issue number 2. We got back from dinner and started to watch a movie. I went to change my contacts and there was water raining from the ceiling tiles. We went down to the front desk and they said a toilet backed up above us. So now it donned on us that fecal matter was coming through the ceiling in a time of COVID-19. Our hands are tied, the other hotels are full and the front desk said it's out of their power to do anything with no access to a manager. Utterly disgusting Avoid this place at all costs...

Basic at its best. I booked this hotel for the weekend because we had stayed here about 5 years ago. Wow what a change in the time. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. The bed and pillows were decent. So let's get down to the things that I thought were odd. Shower in the room-was obviously a tub before. I'm guessing there was some kind of water damage and they ripped out the tub surrounds and just did walk in showers. Which is fine....however it's walk in and turn the corner and magically a shower head appears. I would suggest they add lighting....the light off the vanity just isn't enough. The towels were thin....but clean. Not sure why some rooms have fridges and some don't. It would have been nice to have. This isn't a roadside motel, which would be ok to not have one. This is in town and is usually standard for the brand. Decor is outdated. The walls and floors are are super thin. I could hear everything above me and next to me. Outdoor heated pool is nice & clean. However on the way out the door to the pool is where the hotel staff seems to smoke. Not a fan of that. They shouldn't be smoking or taking their break in hotel guests common areas. Just my opinion. They have a game room....which isn't a game room. It's a room with some tables and chairs for board games I'm guessing???? Complimentary breakfast is passable if you want something light and carb loaded. Otherwise hit a local spot for better options. I'm not sure I'd here again given the decline of the hotel.

The new one going in is less than 50 yards away. And the sleep in is in the middle!!

Front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. Have not seen housekeeping except when I have sought them out. Today I just put my trash out in the hallway. The breakfast is in a bag which is fine. Coffee ALL DAY would be a huge improvement. The BIGGEST problem here is the absolute lack of parking. So many hotels crammed in a such a little space and they are building another hotel 50 yards away from this one. Where are people going to park?

This hotel looks great- it really does. we had a room with a beautiful bathroom and a beautiful bed frame, a beautiful entertainment stand and....the WORST mattress I have ever slept on. I literally could have slept better in my car. Why throw so much money into everything else and ignore the primary reason people are there? SLEEP! I was so exhausted the next day. I assume people stay at places like this because they are on a budget...well save your money and stay in your car! it is more comfortable! I swear!

Was clean. Good location. Bed comfy. The only complaint is that they don't have a gym.

Beautiful natural stone everywhere. Personable, always up for good conversation, really committed to excellent service. -Continental breakfast is next-level with treats from Stick Boy bakery. If you're lucky to be there on a day when there are lemon lavender scones - don't miss them. -A parking lot in downtown Boone! The indoor bar area is beautiful and comfortable as well. We have nothing but good things to say. It's a wonderful hotel and we feel welcomed like family there. HIGHLY recommended!

The room walls are thin so we heard a lot of noise from the outside waking us up early in the morning. You also have to pay for parking at 25 a night but there was a lot of construction making it difficult to get our car out. I know not the hotels fault but definitely keep that in mind. They had really nice robes. They also had a sound machine in the room. We had a thing on the wall that would randomly flash at night and beep. We had issues with the bathroom. The door would not close all the way and We could not get hot water when we tried to shower late at night. We had to go to the front desk and they had to call maintenence which took a bit to work through the issue. Eventually they got the hot water back but an annoying time waster. They discount our stay at 10% for the issue. The breakfast was really nice full of local pastries. The staff was so nice and friendly. The lobby area and bar was super nice and had a cute vibe. The roof top is super pretty at nice with nice fire pits. The staff was super friendly. I would have rated a 4 star but the price was high plus the issues we had knocked it down a star.

Having read some reviews prior to my stay, I knew to ask for a room on the backside of the hotel because of Highway 105 traffic. Although I am not sure how bad that would have been. But the hotel did honor my request and put me on the top floor. So I did have a peaceful stay to rest up. The exercise room, pool and laundry room were clean. Behind the hotel were some trees and a retaining wall. The front desk staff was helpful, especially Chris, with helping me navigate the traffic in Boone. He even seemed interested in the NC Musicians Mural Trail. The hotel has one elevator, and it is slow, so be prepared to wait. There was a chair in the hallway to sit while waiting. They really need another one for the size of the hotel. The location wasn't the easiest to get in and out of either, and it seemed dangerous to make a left from the parking lot. As nice as the hotel and staff were, I'd likely stay elsewhere next time because of the location and the slow elevator.

Apparently everyone else does the same thing, because this hotel is on what is apparently the main road traversing the region, and the traffic noise was terrible, which is not what I thought was going to happen in Boone NC. The room was functional and I had no difficulty getting late checkout. The internet was functional for telework and I even found work space outside my room when I had to check out. Breakfast is not included, but I had no difficulty finding quality options in the town. I wonder if the road noise would be less with a room facing away from the street, but I'm not sure if that would be the case. Maybe the surrounding mountains create a bowl that reflects all the sound back in. If I had some real quality method of reducing the noise, I'd have liked the hotel more.

I would define it as "Sophisticated Simplicity". I was staying here for a personal getaway and was assigned to a beautiful room with a separate sitting room, a gorgeous bathroom, and a zen bedroom. The decor was lovely, stylish and tasteful. The staff was professional and helpful. It was quiet and relaxing and only a short walk away from the town center, perfect location! There is a pretty little creek that winds along the back garden area, I really enjoyed sitting out and watching the ducks. The staff is immeasurably kind, the other folks staying in the house and cottages around you cannot help but share in this kindness. It's like going to a family reunion while also having peace and space to yourself. The rooms are the definition of comfort - and yes, tv's are nowhere to be found. It's a freeing feeling where you can just focus on those around you. Small radios are in each room and old radio stories on cd are available for your enjoyment during your stay. There's large clawfoot tubs large enough for two, and each item is delicately chosen to stay within the realm of an old farmhouse from long ago. There are treats and coffee available at all hours of the day and night, a delicious breakfast that is 2nd to none, and a social every day with meats, vegetables, and cheeses that is unlike anything you've had before. We decided to enjoy ours on the front porch in rocking chairs and I must say that it was one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole stay! The town around the Inn is stunningly charming. It feels like one should be walking or taking a wagon from the Inn, rather than driving, to the General Store or to Over Yonder restaurant which is just a short distance from the Inn. I cannot speak highly enough of this B&B. We will definitely be back and if you're considering staying, consider no longer. Reserve now!

Beds and pillows were very comfortable, not a single complaint about the room or the cleanliness. And the views facing downtown Blowing Rock from the patio with the mountains in the background was superb. What we did not not like this visit is the Unit, itself is starting to show wear, I burned mysef on the fireplace control as the front panel is broken and flops around and got stuck in the fold up cover that hides the controls and of course while the fire was going. The walls need repainting. They say they will charge you if you do not clean the grill but when we got there it was filthy and we had to clean it to use it, then clean it again at check out.
